Gummiapan Guitars rocking for New Year’s Eve

 Happy New Year to you!

Let’s hope it’s full of joy and happiness, healing for those who need it,

Peace around the World, and plenty of crafting mojo!

This was for a friend who loves music, and has several guitars…
I used Gummiapan dies for the guitars and cassette tapes, and two SU stamps,
Merry Mice for music notes and Endless Wishes for happy birthday.
I attempted to replicate his guitars from a photograph.
Below was a photo I took to check the layout, before stamping.
I then glued the guitars and tapes in place.

This is the small die (24 x 63mm)

It was very fiddly, but I enjoyed faffing with little bits, to try and make them realistic.

If you’re partying, enjoy!

We’re having a nice meal in front of the television….bliss 😂

Impressions Abloom die cuts

Hi everyone, I hope you’ve had some time to relax.

I’ve been busy making some birthday cards for January,

and recently acquired this new SU set Impressions Abloom.

There’s stamps and dies, so for speed I opted to use lots of cardstock snippets to die cut.

I’m hoping some spring flowers will cheer the recipients up!

First up, an SU embossed background, and an oval die cut from the set,
with an array of flowers.
I’ll take this card to can you handle the pressure (cyhtp) (AG)

Next up, I made a “basket” using the oval die cut with Woven Textures DSP,

then filled it with flowers and foliage.

Unfortunately I completely covered the “basket handle”, and you can hardly see/read the greeting,
so after I’d taken this photo I die cut a white one to go over the top.

Lastly another “basket”, less full, using some punched flower centres….
Using old punches, an idea recently sparked by Sarn of Stamping for pleasure.

I’m taking this over to the Allsorts challenge #839 (AG)….  (I did create a scene for my last entry)

I’ll also visit the Snippets Playground #522
and here are some of my snippets of cardstock used…

I’ll hopefully see you here tomorrow, to share a card that rocks a tune or two….

Ho Ho Ho or No!

Wherever you wake up this morning I hope you have a good day.

If you’d rather stay under the duvet, this card is for you! 😂

The idea was sparked by Bev at Uniko, I used her alphabet set.
The Santa hats are Gummiapan, the card blank is an old SU set.

Hands up if you prefer “Boxing Day”?👋…..chocolates for breakfast, left overs for dinner, chill out watching TV….🙌

Gifts at Christmas

Hello to all in Blogland, Merry Christmas wishes to you all!

Only one more sleep, and all is wrapped up.

How many of you have got these boards?
My envelope, bag, and box maker have been neglected for ages.
I was struggling to wrap some things neatly, so out they came.
I really enjoyed using up some old papers, ribbons and embellishments….
you know, the ones you couldn’t possibly give away…
well what’s the point of hoarding them I thought! Why not let someone else enjoy them 😍

I hope you enjoy some time with family and / or friends.
If you’re alone, I’ll be thinking of you. Remember it’s only one day, you can do this.
Do blog hop, you’ll find plenty of friends here.
Take care

Making a scene with fairies

I’ve had some of these stamps for a while, quietly sitting, waiting for some time to play….

Below is before it “snowed”……it is subtle, as the branches look so delicate,

and I didn’t want Santa and the fairies getting too cold 😂

I masked a ‘moon’, inked some sky and grass,
then stamped the foliage, trees and fairy elements in Versafine black ink.
I stamped a star cluster around the moon using the same blue ink…it’s very subtle.
I added yellow ink around the lights and added sparkle with a Sakura pen.

Stamps:
Lavinia…tree hive set, star cluster, mini lamp, foliage set, twisted vine set.
Inkylicious….mini fairies 1and 2, Santa sleigh small, twiggy branch, mini branches twigs.

I wanted to make this for some special challenges….

Stamping Sensations - Fairies and Fantasy

I hope your preparations are going well, because Santa is getting his Reindeer up to speed….

Mid century modern tree

I saw Bev of Uniko make a modern Christmas tree, and decided to try one.

My craft room and my mind are in a bit of a mess with Christmas crafting, and family stuff,

so I wanted to make it quickly.

It didn’t go quite to plan, but I ended up using scrap copy paper to mask a triangle,

then stamped Background Blocks Mid Century Modern.

Ink blended the shape, added a gift for the tree base from Mid Century Modern Christmas

I added sparkly Opal Rounds from SU, and some old red ribbon,
after die cutting with a large tag die from Studio Light.
I couldn’t decide on a sentiment.

I’m entering Tag-along and ATC challenge (red and green)

Uniko baubles

A card experiment with some geometric designs from Uniko, to create Christmas baubles.

I saw someone else’s design using these stamps, but do you think I can find it?!

I used Flower Power 1 stamps for the “poinsettias” at the corners, and on one bauble.

The strings and circles were from Uniko’s round in circles.
Sentiment from Inkylicious Christmas Wishes.

We Love Stamping is asking for red and green, do join in if you can, there’s always fabulous prizes,
and lots and lots of wonderful inspiration.

As it’s the first inking up of all the stamps, I’m popping over to MyNBUS.#81

Have a good weekend

Flower Garden Trio from Uniko

I was delighted with this new to me Flower Garden set from Uniko

(Originally Organic Flower Garden)

The owner Bev and her team always come up with fabulous designs to inspire.

Incidentally she has a free postage and special offer this weekend HERE.

This one uses the Arch dies from SU to make a shaped card.

I blended an inked background after stamping in green.
Coloured with blend pens.

I used the arch die cut waste (frame) as a mask to blend a background.

I stamped the big flower offset, and stamped and fussy cut extra flowers to place on top.
As I used white offcuts for this, I’m popping over to the Snippets Playground
although I forgot to take a picture of my snippets 🫩

I do like a square card, and this time I used masking tape to create the background,

adding the big flower as before.

I added gems to all, embellishments lift a card, and most will go through the post.
Here’s all three, that were fairly quick makes.

As this is the first time using this set, I’ll also take the square card to My NBUS #81

Enjoy your day

On Display

I needed quite a few birthday cards for December, and wanted to use another new set from SU,

that features a “dresser” or “armoire”, and lots of things to go on the shelves, called On Display.

I used wood grain paper from SU for the dresser, then filled it with books, cats, and ornaments.

Allsorts #838 anything goes

Treescape with Light and Wonder

Today’s card is using another new set, Light and Wonder.

It has various landscape dies, this was my first quick experiment.

(I can assure you there’ll be more “light and wonder” next time!)

The background paper is Peaceful Garden SU.
I used SU two toned green paper, cut the trees background,
then one of the other dies with the contrasting side, and used the waste bits to infill.
(The pale background paper would have shown through otherwise).

I’m assuming the black line is a piece of thread on my camera lense?!

Challenges:
Allsorts #838 (new…..new die set, or anything goes)

NBUS  #81 (never before used stuff)

Paper snippets cat

I’ve been busy using lots of old stash, as we don’t like to throw anything away do we?!

I have some really old Irish folding cards, that have apertures, this one being a cat…

I wanted to use up some of my paper scraps, which I cut into narrow strips.
I used some tree garlands from Gummiapan to make a sparkly “collar”, also from scraps.

The sentiment is from a Clarity sheet

I’m taking this over to the Snippets Playground #520
where there’ll be hot chocolate and another fabulous prize bundle.

Winter Berry Branch, PB

When I saw this card by Bonnie Klass I knew I had to find this Winter Berry Branch die from Penny Black. I’ve not had much watercolour experience, but cut it out of watercolour card, and painted on different inks.

As this was for a birthday, I chose purple berries for autumn, adding wink of stella,
and glued it onto white card  embossed with SU Leaf Fall.

The sentiment is from SU Beautiful Moments, which I used to decorate the inside and envelope.

I’m hoping I haven’t missed this challenge …. 😉

Happy Saturday

Textured tag

Hope you are doing ok in the run up….

I made a few tags, having almost finished my cards.

I also wanted to enter the Tag-along and ATC’s challenge, but I’ve missed the deadline 😢.

I’m not surprised as I’ve been so busy, and with that comes brain fog, but I expect most of you know that feeling!

I cut the tag from SU Greetings of the Season
I stamped with SU Yuletide Village, fussy cut the house and tree, coloured with pencils.
Die cut the snowflake cutouts with SU Snowy Delights,
added glitter glue and bells,
onto ribbon and twine.

Here’s the others I made….

Teal and silver snowflakes

I have some really pretty foil card I thought would go well with this large snowflake from SU,

(Snowy Delights). Plus I really wanted to join the Colour Hues challenge #122 (teal + silver)

It’s proved very difficult to photograph though!
Below it looked like a dark blue,

so I stepped out into the sunshine, which shows more of a true colour.

This one has sparkly white die cuts for Jingle Belles rock challenge (banner) but my attempt at
editing the brightness turned the white a bit blue, and still didn’t show the true colour 🙄

I’ve used this layout a lot. Just cut the rectangle in two diagonally, to make two cards.
I also embossed white card the same size. Die cut the snowflake and sentiment for four quick cards.

I’m also entering Try it on Tuesday (snowflakes)
Time out challenge #302 (emboss, white, sparkle)
