Another brick in the wall

Remember the little birds and the tree?

Here’s another version I made…

I layered a brick embossed square onto a green scalloped square,
then onto white card, die cut with the Brick Layer.
Behind that was a coral card, also die cut, but with the Stitched Greenery die.
this added more interest and texture.

Below is the square card I made using the same Stitched Greenery background die.

It gives a lovely background texture.

Musical Giant

Today’s card is using the giant happy birthday die, with some music paper.

Cut the paper with the die first, keeping all the pieces attached,
then cut it in black card, inlaying just the letters.
I thought it would be good for a music lover /musician who likes simplicity.

Four legged friend at the Christmas tree

Hello, today’s card uses a cute Penny Black wooden stamp.

(Margaret Shelley collection).

I gently coloured with SU Blend pens, (pale blue and red), and wink of stella,
sentiment from The Greetery.

Added more twinkle with silver punched stars from an old SU border punch,
then used an embossing folder to frame/ add interest top and bottom.

I’m entering these challenges for Christmas,

pale blue &red, embossing folder, stars, four legged, dogs, anything goes:

Welcome home

I had a card to make for a cousin moving to a new home,

so reached for a favourite set

I stamped the elements and coloured with So Saffron blends,
using coordinating card for the base.
I die cut the flower pots, and new home sign, raised on foam pads,
and grounded it all using a grey and saffron blend pen.

I had this background paper on my desk, and thought….that would be good to use next time!
Do you ever find things after the event, that might have been better?

Doodled gifts

Hello, today I’m sharing another doodled gifts card,

this time it’s a large A5 card, that is a whole A4 sheet folded in half.

I’ve kept it simple, pairing it with the large die cut sentiment,
and adding some small enamel dots.

Here’s a reminder of my little cards from back in May

Book Shop

Here one inspired by Helen Read, All Things Stampy.

Using Les Shoppes stamps and dies, and a brick stencil.

Before adhering the shop,

I marked the arched window with a pencil, to position my books.

I’ve not used a sentiment, so I can personalise when needed.

Here’s some of the lovely projects from Helen Read

Pop up cafe

I’ve had lots of fun with the Let’s Go Shopping papers from SU.

Here’s a simple pop up version…..I just cut a rectangle to fit, and scored top and bottom twice,

approximately a centimetre apart, to create the pop up, (see last picture).

I used paper for the background, cut some scraps for window “blinds”,
bench, lamp post, and sandwich board (?).

I placed some scrap acetate behind the cut outs,
another fussy cut piece for the back wall of the shop interior,
stamped and cut the chairs and “open” sign.
I used a grey blend pen to colour a thin strip for the road,
then an old stamp to create a faint yellow wall detail.
I then had to think how to glue it all in the right order 🙃.

I’m sure you could have fun creating your own pop up scenes!
