More Plants…

Hi there, I’m back with some more Plentiful Plants cards…

Using some more snippets of the SU papers, and various pots n plants stamped and die cut some time ago.

It’s satisfying using up bits n pieces

The only new thing is the cute sentiment frame, from a die set in the retirement sale, I couldn’t resist.

Snippets, Allsorts and NBUS

Hi there, I’m joining three of my favourite challenges today,

Snippets Playground #480

Allsorts Challenge #781

NBUS #62

My first card uses leftover strips of SU designer series paper.
I just love this wood /tile/fabric effect paper, and I’ve had an old SU set out, Plentiful Plants.

I decided to layer it all on the wonk, and I did remember to take a photo of some of the snippets 😉,
but forgot to add some pearls before I took the pics 🙄. I do like to add embellishments,
it’s an added touch of luxury, and most will happily pass the postage test,
although I do sometimes add a protective scrap for protection.

I have a new never before used die from Gummiapan….very simple but so effective as a “floor”.
I thought it would be perfect for some other previously stamped&cut pots and plants.

I blended some ink on it to make the floor stand out. It’s one of those dies that just cuts into the card.
A simple sentiment white embossed on black keeps the cas layout.

Have a good weekend, whatever you are doing.

Masking welly boots

Hi there, I’m getting my roller skates on to get into the

Snippets Playground before the gates clang shut!

Here’s my homework……

I set myself the challenge of the masking technique, and got out some old sets….

so old they had matching punches too! Not that I used them much with this card

I stamped the boots, then stamped them again on a sticky note,
Carefully cut it out, so I could use the positive and negative.
Covered the boots to stamp the brolly,
then replaced the mask with the negative aperture to stamp the flowers.
I had to separate the boots so I could stamp flowers on one boot at a time.

I then used some scrap paper to make a sun (punched a circle),
then covered that to ink the sky, using another scrap to ink the ground.
I then used another scrap so I could ink through the umbrella (similar to the boots).

Phew, I hope Sarn has got some bacon sarnies left when I turn up at the treehouse!
I’ll have to apologise to miss Di for throwing some snippets in the bin that were, shall we say,
a bit soiled, and therefore I couldn’t take a pic!

Do visit the Snippets Playground and join in the fun,
I think there’ll be a new challenge tomorrow too.

Have a super day

Enduring Beauty

Today’s card was an attempt at watercolouring.

I enjoyed the process, but wish I’d used different colours,

and watercolour paper instead of white cardstock.

The die cuts the whole arrangement, but I felt it needed something else,
so I used a circle stencil to ink a background.
A few sequins for added sparkle

Hope you have a lovely day

Birthday Wishes

I treated myself recently to some new stamps from Uniko.

They’re fun, funky, unique designs, perfect for a dear friend…

It’s mainly simple stamping with a bit of decoupage, fussy cut bows, and a Rhinestone.
I used my stamping platform to get clear crisp and even inking.

(Mid century modern Birthday)

Hope you have a lovely day

I annoyingly wasn’t aware that I’d inadvertently chosen a past date to post this, so I’ve posted it again 🙄😳
This is not the first time the automatic”publish on” shows me the wrong week/month, so I should know better!

Sending wishes

I’ve been making some one sheet wonders recently.

Do visit Ruth Trice at Artful Stampin’ for inspiration.

It’s great for quick and easy cards, with any stamps you like.
Stamp in your favourite colours on an A4 sheet, cut into 4 or more,
and layer onto base card and decorate.

(Old SU sets Daisy Lane and Sending Smiles)

Hope you have a lovely day

Rudolph Day for April

 Rudolph Day is here!

25th of the month means it’s time to add some cards to our Christmas stash.

So, here goes using up some more backgrounds I’ve have for a few years, from a batch make 🙄

I layered that lovely tree die over my sparkly pasted trees,
added the truck from Gummiapan, loaded up with the tree and gifts

I used pens to make it shabby (perhaps too much 😂)

Next up that cool Santa, sat on a wall, cut from yet another pasted background
(I did make quite a few, so it’s my challenge to use them all 😉)

Santa was cut from card, snipped and layered.

Above I coloured the gifts with pens,

below I just did the “ribbon”

A piece of embossed white for the snowflake background.
This Santa was also cut from card, but I cut his trousers short and coloured his pink legs 😃

I also used up some old tea bag folding card blanks.

You can just about see the teapot.

It’s amazing how you can use up old stuff in a different way.

The bits from the aperture were used for sentiments etc.

Happy Rudolph Day!

By the Sea

I’ve been making some one sheet wonders, where you stamp an A4 sheet,

then cut it up for backgrounds.

This one was perfect to wish a friend a speedy recovery…

Using old SU stamps and bright pastel colours (is that contradiction?) for the seashell background,
and Gummiapan dies for the beach hut scene

I inked the topper for the sand and sea, and added sea glass embellishments.
Details coloured with SU blend pens.

I think the colours and huts meet the Inkspirational challenge #314

Hope you have a lovely day

From the Toolbox

It’s a new Snippets Playground challenge and these cards used up lots of paper snippets!

Backing paper, tools, faux peg board and sentiment all from snippets.
Fancy fold from Emma Goddard, Coastal Crafter.

This one uses the part images left on the edges of the tools paper.
I hate waste but you can tuck partial images under things or around the edges.
I think I went a bit over board on this one!
Cased from Stacey Marsh.

Hoping to be first at the Playground gates, so I can share some of Sarn’s chocklit!

Picture in Picture

A special card for my Sister today.

My plan was a Picture in Picture effect….

I used some old SU paper as my painted landscape.

Gummiapan’s artist dies come in two sizes, perfect for what I had planned.
I used double layers for depth and strength, some mounted on tiny foam pads.

The easel was cut from wood effect paper, and the grass from scraps of the background paper.
Colour added to the tools with marker pens , winked for sparkle. (Wink of Stella)

Seam binding ribbon along the bottom, added texture and filled the space of the 5” x 7” card base,
as the background paper was only “6 x 6”.

Here’s some of the Snippets used, so I can go and play at the Snippets Playground #477 with this card,
and it’s the first time the Artist sets have come out to play,
so I’m entering the Never Before Used Schtuff (NBUS) Challenge #61

Enjoy your day!
