That's my boy!

Had to make a card for my Awesome Nephew,
as he set off on a new adventure to join the army.

I'd inked a background ages ago that I thought might be suitable,
and just added the embossed sentiment from "Big News"

I thought I'd be really sad to see him go,
but he looked so happy, it's been his wish since he was little,
and I know he is going to be just awesome!

Watercolour Wings

A simple card using the fab new
Watercolour Wings stamp set from Stampin' Up!

I stamped a butterfly first,
then die cut another from vellum.
It surprised me how different the colours were on vellum.

As it was for a very pretty sparkly girl,
I just had to add some "dazzling diamonds" glitter.

This requires using "heat & stick powder" first,
but it's well worth the effort don't you think?

I can't wait to try heat n stick with some gilding flakes.....

a flurry of warm wishes

Happy Sunday everyone
I hope you've had a nice weekend,
albeit over too quickly!

I was looking through my UFO's
(unfinished objects)
and discovered this neglected swap I'd received.
How I did that, I have no idea,
because it is sooooooo gorgeous!

Created by the equally gorgeous Kim Fee
it is seriously shimmery, having been smooshed with shimmery spray.
Sadly the photo does not do justice,
so you will just have to pop round for a closer look and a cuppa!

I hope you have an equally gorgeous week!
Full of gorgeous sunshine!

P.S. This is in my garden, a gift left by the birds we feed,
using top notch sunflower hearts from 'Feathers Wild Bird Food' !

September Rudolph Day

One thing I try not to miss is
Rudolph Day challenge.

This is where we get ahead with our xmas cards
and share our projects.

Luckily High Halden craft club had a diamond fold workshop,
so I made this.....

Old habits die hard as they say, and we used to make two cards
for this challenge, so I've tried to maintain that
so as to get ahead with my stash.

The fab thing about this fold, is you can use it in different ways,
so here's an easel style....

It was a fab way of using up some pretty paper too.

Happy Rudolph Day,
the 25th of each month,
so I'll be back in October, November........eeeeeeek!
You know what that means....
not long now!!!!

Classic Car

I bought a card class from Jenny Moors,
and I can highly recommend them.

I love this men's set, and really enjoyed following the layout.
The instructions were very detailed, which made it a pleasure to do,
especially when you are busy/tired/brain dead/mojo-less!

I decoupaged the front of the car, tho hard to see....

Had to find a bottle to do it justice...
and it's still full.....

Love how she made the tag from the neck section,

Every Cloud....

I hope I'm not boring you too much with
the versatile Sprinkles of Life?

pinterest was the inspiration for various elements,
the silver foil, the sun poking out behind.....
with a bit of a mark where I got too overzealous with the glue remover darn...

stuck it at a jaunty angle.......another accident......happier one this time!

Basket Bunch

Sprinkles of life again,
this time punching some flowers to add to the basket

These were a recent swap I made

Do you see how the notch keeps the twine in place?

You can make a notch with lots of punches....just use the tip....
this 'tip' was from Vicky Hayes....miss her blog sooooo much!

Sprinkles of Life is an adaptable set,

For a sweet nephew, hope it's not too 'sweet'

Happenings

Tried a 'simply created' kit from Stampin' Up!
called Happenings,

looked on pinterest and found inspiration to jazz 'em up a tad

use embossing folders, punches, embellishments etc

paper pierce round the edges
or in a shape using a template
.

try and replicate any design features
such as chevrons, hexagons, dots etc.

Have you got a kit and got a bit stuck with all the left overs?
have a look at your stash and jazz 'em up!

Happy Thoughts

A recent team swap using a NEW stamp set
Your Presents

I hope this shows it's not just for christmas!

can you see I was a bit undecided where to place one of the bows?

(Handpicked Framelits used to die cut the bow)

These took a lot more to make than it may appear,
without the aid of my stamp-a-ma-jig,
but using the kissing' technique,
which I hope to show in a class very soon.

Love the colours blue and silver.....

treat for you

Pauline Barnfather created this Treat Bag

Awesomely Artistic is awfully popular,
and I love how she tied the 'for you' on the twine

Inside was a clever bow maker:
small piece of card, notch punched out
with the word window punch!

That concludes the team swaps,
I hope you've enjoyed seeing these.
Thanks to all my colleagues for swapping,
and thank YOU for looking.
