Special Lady

Hello!
I don't know if you've noticed, but I haven't posted as often lately.....
no? how very dare you! lol
Well, I've had a horrible cold, and I still feel below par,
but I've soldiered on, like you do....
ok, you can stop the 'air violins' now thank you!

Anyhow, I had to show you what I made for a very special lady...my M-I-L....
She's the best!

If you only like clean and simple..LOOK AWAY NOW!
Sometimes I just can't help myself...sorry!

I used the Six-sided Sampler stamp set from Stampin Up!
(that's a bit of a mouthful!)
The Hexagon punch saves on the cutting out, and gives a much neater finish.
Spot the silver glimmer paper?
Doily, flowers, itty bitty punched flowers and dinky heart, (from the owl punch), plus Rhinestones,
all mounted on Melon Mambo cardstock, with a Gingham Garden paper border.

I hope to be back a bit more often, so I look forward to seeing you soon!

Had a lovely day with my friends from Stampin' Up!
We had so much fun, swapped lovely projects, and had yummy treats!
I'll share more over the next few days,
but for starters here is my swap...

Festive Flurry, crumb cake matching envelope,
and white gel pen with some bakers twine.
I roughed up the edges of the card topper with the back of my scissors.

Uncle Walt

Hi there!
I wanted to share this card I made for a fave uncle.
It was quick, simple, and colourful!

He used to be a watchmaker/mender I believe,
so I thought Clockworks was a great stamp set to use.
I started with muted background colours, and progressed to brighter ones.
I finished it off with some paper piercing,
coloured-in sentiment, and some of our new card candy.

So what have you made today?

Celebrate 3

We had a lovely time yesterday visiting Sis-in-law and the two boys,
to celebrate Oliver's Birthday
I had lots of fun making this card....
lots of ideas from various sources, best of all the balloons are
finished off with the feet from the owl punch!
Chalk Talk Framelits provide the tag backgrounds.
The lizard/salamander whatever, has a lonnnnnng tongue,
being a strip of card curled with a quilling tool.

There was something missing....eye drawn to blank top left space ...

then I remembered our new card candy.....finishing touch!
Here's a close-up
I coloured the stamp using Stampin' Up! Marker pens...
Hope you've had a fab weekend!

Thanks for dropping by again....
As promised...let me show you the fab projects my playmates shared...

Say cheese! from Ros...a very talented card maker, amongst many other talents
Giggle Greetings is one of my fave sets at the mo.

Sarn showed us the faux tile technique, which was great fun,
as was the random stamping....none of us do random easily!
Love this ribbon too.

Liz shared this elegant white and grey sophistication...
The leaves from the Bird punch are so useful.

Sarah shared one from Stampin' Up!'s kits.
Love the colours, cute button and twine.
Note the matching envelope liner too!

Well, that's it!
Show's over for today.....but I'll be back!

Make n take

Following on from yesterday,
here's my make 'n' take.....

Stampin' Up! Notelets are great for christmas cards,
and there's a framelit for making the envelope liners too.
I used one of the seasonal paper stacks,
which are also the perfect size for xmas cards.
Stamped the Santa Tag in Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler,
Cut both out with the Chalk Talk framelits that fit the outline and the inline
(might have made that word up!)
then swapped them over, so that you get a green inner with a red outer, and vice versa!
Overlapped two triangles of dotty paper, added smaller triangle, to form a faux envelope,
glued edges only, leaving a pocket to slip in money/ gift voucher etc.
Et voila! my gift pocket card.
