Three in a row with Timeless Textures

Happy Weekend!

Sharing a recent make n take, wish I could give credit to where I found the idea,
please feel free to complain if you recognise it.

Here's the first with Papillon Potpourri butterflies

The other uses Petite Petals flowers, with a grunged edge.
I used the technique where you hold the stamp bent in the hand,
instead of mounting it on a block.

We used the Wink of Stella for some of the splats,
the rest of the backgrounds used Timeless Textures

Here's some creations from the other play mates

pretty huh?

Wishing you Peace and Love

Inset and Splatter a Butterfly

Hiya
Just popping by to share a recent make....
wanted to share how to texture a background,
and leave a section unembossed.
We used to try this by using a thick shim to mask an area we didn't want to emboss.
Then I saw this tip....just die cut the area, and run the rest through the folder,
then simply replace the die cut shape, unembossed, stamped with a sentiment.

I used brush strokes and ink splats to decorate the area I wanted to cut the butterfly from.
Here's a few variations from my play mates...

and these.....
all mounted white on white

Happy Crafting

On Stage Swaps for Telford

Hello, thanks for stopping by.
Today is going to be really exciting,
as it's Stampin' Up! OnStage.
Conventions are held worldwide for demonstrators
to learn about new products, training and to meet each other.
Traditionally we a make swaps,
small cards or 3-d items to share ideas with each other.

I wanted to combine mine with Parkinson's awareness month,
so I bought some of their paper bags and cornflower seed favours.

I made some 3" square gift cards,
with a little pocket to hold the seeds.

I used Flower Shop and Timeless Texture to decorate,
adding Iridescent Ice embossing powder,
and some silver thread to echo the flower design.

There's an explanation on the back of the seeds

work in progress....

Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point colours
went well with the Parkinson's merchandise.

My Dad and Cousin suffer from this awful disease,
so it was nice to do something positive to raise awareness,
as more research is needed to find a cure.

Hopefully I will have lots of swaps in return to show you too!

Have a great weekend

Flower Shop Fancy Flower Friday

Hello, happy Friday to you!

Love this card Liz made....
she finds this flower stamp a challenge to punch out,
so she decided to make her own from twine instead!

I think this is very clever,
I love how she's replicated the design of the stamp with the thread,
and it inspired my swaps, which you will see tomorrow.

This would be a nice card to do even without the twine flower.
It does take practice to align the punch with the stamped image,
but I got a LOT of practice making my swaps.

Have a great day

Ros's Roses

Hello there, thanks for visiting.

Here today we have a make n take and swap by dear friend and teamie Ros

This lovely rose, die cut from pale pink card,
adding a pearl centre, mounted on a scallop edged rectangle,
with some pretty DSPaper

Here's another rubbish photograph,
which also doesn't show the leaves are green, they look black.
In fact I messed up, so had to cut the leaves to fit.
I also messed up the sentiment, so had to cover it up with another,
but the whisper white card I used, is much whiter than Ros's card.
Funny how my rubbish photography has no problem showing that up though teehee!

Here's her swap....luckily I had no involvement,
so 'tis a very nice card and not messed up at all!

Hmmmm that reminds me, seeing her paper pierced tag....
I was meant to pierce the rose rectangle....
but because the others messed that up, I didn't even bother trying!

Just for a laugh I have set the challenge for next teamie day,
.......to use paper piercing on a card!
(Not sure they saw the funny side....!)

Have a great non-messed-up day!

Splattered Ink all over my Sister

I had an idea in mind for my Sister's card,
as she'd shown interest in a recent arty inky card.

This is totally different, but I'm glad I had a 'play'.

I started off using some retiring inks,
using Gorgeous Grunge splats for the sky
and Timeless Textures for the 'grass'

but nah....colours too dark and me no likey,
so that was binned.

So I tried gold embossing powder for the flowers
(a sale-a-bration set),
added some ink....

nah.....binned that one too!

went pink  purpley bluey this time,
stamping splats first, then flowers.

I then coloured in the flowers to make them deeper,
using wink of stella for some sparkle.

I then went a bit mad splatting ink drops from an acrylic block
with a water filled aqua brush and some gold wink of stella.

I certainly learned a lot from this playtime,
most got binned but hey ho,
the main thing is I had FUN!

She said she liked it, so that's a nice bonus!

Happy Days

Love you Sew

This is a cute stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s recent sale-a-bration.
The sentiments are craft related, and sew very useful.

Lots of Snippets used here!
A snippet of patchwork DSP for the background,
snippet of white for the stitched frame sentiment,
snippets for the button, and reels, wrapped in twine.
Hexagons have been added with dimensionals,
and I even fussy cut the paper snips....including the handles!

A few Rhinestones add sparkle,
and a leftover reel snippet decorated the inside.

All these Snippets can only mean.....
I can hop, skip and jump over to the
Do come and play in the latest challenge
for a chance to win a real cute hedgehog set.

Thankful for you by the water

Sunday Special
using the wading birds from Wetlands.

Liz helped us make this one,
using the tearing of the 'sand'....Sahara Sand card,
we sponged two blues for the background,
and Gorgeous Grunge helped us add texture to sea and sky.

Joy to the World

Another couple of christmas cards for the stash,
which is a sketch, featuring two circles....

Embossed the large circle with Northern Flurry,
Jolly Christmas and Among the Branches stamp sets,
inked edges, added some wink of stella (why not?!)

Used some old DSP for the largest circle, embossed with
Perfect Polka Dots, added some twine.
As if the photos aren't bad enough, I notice there must have been
a small gust of wind, blowing the left hand bauble!

Lots of snippets on these, so off to the swings at

Have a Great Weekend
