Brecon Beacons

Hello there, thanks for stopping by!

I thought I'd share some holiday pics for a change....
our latest adventure was a Narrowboat......

Here's Captain Alan looking very happy at the Helm...

Here's me very hot and bothered doing the locks...
We have never done this before........Alan took to it like a duck to water.... :)

I on the other hand was stressed and found it quite hard.
I was too terrified to steer the boat through the locks,
so manning them and the drawbridges was down to me.
We did meet LOTS of lovely people along the way, and I did get help from them sometimes,
and I did steer the boat in calmer waters, when there were no bends!

Totally out of my comfort zone, but I'm glad I did it,
and funnily enough yes I would do it again!
Just goes to show.....it's good to challenge ourselves sometimes.

A lovely family of 10 we met....8 babies eek!

Very pretty village Crickhowell

Stunning scenery......

Lots of fun decks at houses and moorings....

some had barbecues, sheds, patio furniture......fun weekends and hols I'm sure,...

Quaint Villages.....

and of course an on board craft room.... ;)
(well I had to take some with me didn't I ?!........SU Kits were ideal!)

with a fabulous view!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend
and I hope to see you again very soon!

Thanks for visiting

July Rudolph Day

Hello there, it's the 25th of the month again, and that means it's
RUDOLPH DAY !
However.........this month it will not start until 1st August,
click on the link above for more info....
Join the Challenge to post your christmas makes this month,
be in the chance to win a prize, and get ahead with your christmas stash....

This set Mistletoe Season caught my eye in the Annual Catalogue.
I do love mistletoe, and I do love versatility, and this has it all.

Some lovely images, great sentiments, and the option to fussy cut,
or leave as simple one layer cards, great for posting at an expensive time of year!

I added Pearls and some of the Under The Mistletoe Designer Series Paper

Here I stamped a double layer, added some fronds, a Rhinestone, and fussy cut a bow

This one was some swags or branches, plus a fussy cut bow, and some punched bells,
"winked" with gold and clear .
The "jingle bells " coordinate with the 1/2" Circle Punch.......
we all know how hard it is to cut a circle!

Here's some close up's on the details

Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Shaded Spruce provide the greens,
reds are Cherry Cobbler and Poppy Parade.

Happy Rudolph Day

Three in a row Varied Vases

Hi there
I hope you are keeping cool....it's unusually hot in the UK!

I'm back to show you some more Varied Vases,
I haven't tired of this set yet, and I've used it a LOT!

I'd like some photo comments if possible....
these were taken by a window...

these were on a black background....
I can't decide which shows best, if any,
all I know is I need to do better!

This last one has the lovely Designer Series Paper as the background,
it is soooooo pretty and shimmers too

I fussy cut a flower to add

Here's the three in a row...

top taken by the window, bottom on a black background...

...and here's a short video for you to enjoy from Stampin' Up!

Varied Vases Paper Pieced

Hello again,how are you?
Well I hope, coping with the weather and all life throws at you?

I'm back with Varied Vases.....
this time some paper piecing using the Punch,
and don't you just love that scallop trim?
The outline and separate infill means oodles of possibilities

The flowers and vases also have outlines and infills...
infinite possibilities....
I outlined the paper edges with a marker pen.
I love the font in this set too.

Enjoy, keep crafting , and see you soon,

Varied Vases with water

Hello again
I'm sorry to be back with Varied Vases
(not sorry really)

Any photographers out there?
I try and improve my pics, I'm not that good.
I had the top one by the window, the bottom one on a black background in front of the window.
Not sure if the black makes it pop more, but the first seems a truer colour?
Any comments / suggestions welcome :)
So, back to the vases......simple outlines with a watery infill (stamped off second generation ink hence the lighter mottly effect)
and the flowers floating in the vases.....what do you think?

I'll show you another version soon....

Pair of Little Twinkles

Hi there!
I do hope you don't get a crick in your neck on this one :)

Two cards using the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper (146284)
cut diagonally and flipped, so you get two for one

One was side fold but A4 cut in half lenghtways for a change
the other an A5 folded

Stamped and embossed the heart in Copper, layered onto scallop circle, added some enamel stars,
then did similar with sentiment, punched using Tailored Tag Punch,
stuck onto some card and fussy cut to give a border...

Inside I die cut these lovely words from DSP, card and Copper foil....
the top one I entwined,
but preferred the layout of bottom one...hindsight being a wonderful thing ;)

Two cards for two lovely ladies in my team "Twinklin' Stars" who promoted to Bronze Elite recently.
They don't demonstrate or do classes or anything, they just get the discount,
and by promoting they get EXTRA discount!

Waterfall with Varied Vases

This is another Waterfall Card I created for class,
and I also used it for a swap I did with some teamies.
Using Varied Vases again, I used different sized stitched squares,
and chose vase & flowers to fit.

I used a sponge dauber to ink up the solid pattern of the vase,
it gives a lighter touch so that you get a clear image with all the fine detail.

These 2 were experimental rejects!
top - wanted to do horizontal, not vertical, but stuck squares on wrong,
plus didn't like seeing just a bit of the sentiment
bottom - messed up sentiment, stuck one over the top,
the used too much glue on the tab and looked messy....
much prefer the ribbon tied tag pull!

See the other Waterfall class projects.......

and HERE

Take care, keep well

Varied Vases

Hi there, I hope you are enjoying the weekend.
I am loving this stamp set Varied Vases.

It was inspired by Mary Fish, one of Stampin' Up!'s Million Sales Achiever.
It has so many uses.....my response to someone who says "wish I could just buy one of the stamps instead of a set", is that the set will give so much more versatility than a single stamp,
meaning it'll be out on your desk over and over, creating very different looks.
How often have you bought a single stamp and only used it once or twice?

Anyway, you came to see a card.......

very simple using Soft Sea Foam, a new colour, fine tip glue allowed to dry on vase,
some Twinkle Twinkle DSP, stitched square, scallop circle punched "hello",
die cut leaf,  artisan pearls, twine tie, and did you spot the
stamped scallop border?.....sooooo useful as finishing touch or faux lace trim.
The stamps have outlines and solid or patterned in-fills,
remarkably easy to line up too!

See Page 45 of the Annual Catalogue for more info,
and more inspiration..........don't forget it is an "Ideas Book" too!
Look out for "You Can Make It" sections and order
all you need with one number!

Phew! in the heat I nearly forgot......am popping over to splash in the
Snippets Playground Pond!
Di has a lovely card to share and a great tip too!
(although I'm not sure if it was that clever bear Parsnip's idea ;))
Join in the fun by using "Snippets" of anything on your project,
like here I used snippets of paper and card....
there's a fab prize to win too!

Have fun!

Nature's Poem

I held a Waterfall Card Class recently,
on the request of one of my attendees,
and was surprised to enjoy my revisit to an old technique.
I experimented until I found what I thought was the easiest version,
then showed the variations in size, orientation etc you can use.

This was a mainly male version using just the lovely
Designer Series Paper Nature's poem (146338 Page 189)

I love how it shows off the gorgeous double sided paper,
and how you can easily hide a message.
I do like a card with a bit of movement......

I will share the other, more feminine one we did another day.
Enjoy your weekend

Belated Fathers Day

Well hello there!
Anyone melted yet?!

I think it's melting my brain......this shows how far behind I am with posting...
Found these fun bags in a well known supermarket,
just right to hold a tipple for the cheeky chaps on Fathers Day!

The cards were made aaaaaaaages ago, so a retired set,
but you could probably replicate it by getting out the BIG letters dies maybe.

I do hope you keep cool, whatever the weather, wherever you are,
and have a fabulous weekend
lots of love

Beautiful Bouquet take two...

Hi there
howyadoin'

we are still pretty warm here,
so here's a couple more simple samples of what you can do with
Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set (143666) and Bouquet Bunch Dies (143659)

You don't always need the matching dies, but I have to say,
with this set it is WELL worth it!

These were VERY quick to make,
and sometimes we NEED quick!
The little elements mean you can decorate and make so many variations,
with as many or as few layers as you like!

Do search the name of this set to see how versatile it really is.

Beautiful Bouquet In Heather

Hello again
Hope you are managing to keep cool!

Here's another couple of ideas with this lovely set
the Stamp Set Beautiful Bouquet (143666) and the Dies Bouquet Bunch (143659)
although these two are purely die cuts....

This is meant to look like lavender?
Does it succeed?
Do you like the "wrap" holding the bunch together
(too often we get elastic bands!)

This one is just layered dies...
looks a bit like violets?
what do you think?

This is such a versatile set, it could probably be whatever you want it to be,
Just change the colours!

I have more to come...watch this space!
