team make 'n' take

Liz's make 'n' take is a lovely natural card
using one of the harvest sets.
The background is a wood grain stamp under the acorns,
and the wheat sheaf is tied with linen thread.

Team makes

I hope you had a good week?
Are you saying thank crunchy it's friday?
I hope you are taking time to relax.....

We each do a make 'n' take at our team events.
It's a lovely way of sharing ideas and products, and gives us chance to play!

Here's mine, based on the Starburst technique.

Some of the seasonal designer series paper is very shimmery,
and the ribbon and embellishment add glam too.

I recently learnt the Starburst Technique.
I didn't find it easy at first, as geometry is not my strong point!
However, once I found a magic measurement from Diane Barnes, I was off!

I will share instructions very soon......

Here's a close-up

Team day

Jan's swap was a little......awesome! omg!
First the box....
and if that wasn't enough....

The contents......

Scented candles, and the most gorgeous wreath.
This deserves a few more pics....
Covered in ribbon, adorned with shimmery leaves and flowers,
and a fab 3-d sentiment....
here's a close-up
Jan loves making 3-d objects, and this is undoubtedly one of her best yet!

Team Day

Liz's swap was a cute square card, embossed with glittery snowflakes,
(never shows up in photos.....)
a cute stamp from one of Stampin' Up! Hostess stamps sets,
that are amazing value, and some dinky pearls.

I do like traditional colours for Christmas, do you?
I like the blues, pinks, purples etc., but my faves are the red and green.
Which are your faves?
Do leave a comment if you have the time to share.

Team Day

Another team day, we got together again to swap projects and ideas.
Here's my 'swaps'.....it's a cracker!

I got the idea from the many you-tubes using the Envelope Punch Board,
new to Stampin' Up!.
I adapted the basic principle to suit what I put inside....shhhh that's a secret!

I used our seasonal Designer Series Paper, and punched a couple of tags to embellish.
Some red Glimmer paper, and silver ribbon and rhinestone add a bit of glitz.

I will share how I made them very soon.....
have a good week!

Circle Thinlit Shaker

I had to make a monthly swap, so decided to try out my new Circle Thinlit.
This die cuts a card base to make a swing or flip card with ease!

It cuts and scores, so all I had to do was fold and decorate.
I decided to do a shaker, using the Hexagon Punch, and Festive Flurries Stamp Set,
all from Stampin' Up!

Here's the back of the 'swing' section...where you can add a sentiment or decoration

Another view of the front, with chunky glitter in the shaker window

Envelope Punch Board

Can you guess what I've been playing with?
Oh my gosh, this board is a m a z i n g !
You can do so much with it!

I had these cards in my stash that I sent to a fave aunt and uncle,
so all I had to do was make the envelopes!
You can make any size, in any colour, and make boxes too!

The only trouble was....and this will make you laugh.......I forgot to write inside their cards!!!!!
Have you ever done that!???!!!!

I was so intent on getting them in the post!
Oh well, a good excuse to speak to them on the phone!
Plus my Aunt will love being able to 'recycle' them lol!

Grandad

Alan's Grandad is amazing, so I managed to find this card in my stash,
that I thought he might like.
I just added 'Grandad' to a Feeling Sentimental stamp of a Penny Farthing.

This technique could be used for anything that moves!
Just stamp the shadow images, without re-inking.

Wishing you extras

I enjoyed my 'Wishing You' class so much I even made some extras to show!

The good thing is that it helped me start my own card stash for Christmas.
Here's a tag with decoupaged layers....

Here's a couple of  easel cards, using 'Special Season' and the gift boxes from 'Wishing You', as the stoppers, by decoupaging them to give height.

I hope you have enjoyed the 'Wishing You' compilation!?

A Stamp is not just for Christmas!

Continuing my 'Wishing You' class projects,
I wanted to show you how this cute little set is useful for all occasions...
birthdays, anniversaries, weddings......

Just by changing the colours and sentiment....
Here they are side by side, can you see what I mean?

I also liked how a plain mat was laid first, then the ribbon over that, and then the topper.
It's a slightly different way of layering up.....see Stampinpretty.com for other fab ideas.

Wishing You a happy Christmas Class

I really enjoyed doing a class around the 'Wishing You' Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

Here's one using the Paper Stack Season of Style,
a stamped tag die cut with the Chalk Talk Framelits,
and some of the lush Cherry Cobbler Ribbon.

This ribbon is gorgeously soft, wide, and drapes beautifully.
Here we tied it with some bakers twine.
I got this one from craftingonhat.blogspot.com

This used my favourite Crumb Cake card.
We embossed a Designer Frame, then cut out the centre,
placing a stamped image underneath.
Cut the tag using the Chevron Border Punch, but I think you could also use a square or the hexagon one.
Added some twine and rhinestones.....
copied from stampingville.blogspot.com

This was another Pinterest find......I love the simple layout, and you can change the layers, use dimensional foam pads, and use colours to suit......
This was cased from stampinpretty.com

Flower Shop

Hiya, hope all's well with you today!

I loved this one...a lot....and I don't often say that!

I had a go at removing a border stamp from it's wheel
(see Page 103 of the Stampin' Up! Catalogue).
This was a lot easier than I thought!
It just peeled it off, then I added some Clear-Mount Cling Foam (See Page 197)
so that I can now use it on a clear block.

It's Viola's Lace, and I thought very apt for a fellow lace- maker's card.

I then added a 'Flower shop' flower in the same black ink,
put some Melon Mambo ribbon, and another flower in the same colour.
Added a butterfly punched from some co-ordinating DSP (Designer Series Paper),
some Rhinestones, including one LARGE one!
Mounted on black card, it really stands out against the Whisper White and shocking pink.

This was inspired by a tag from freubelsvandemolletjes.blogspot.nl......
just don't ask me to pronounce it!

Sampler patchwork

Hiya!
How's it going?!

Hoping to give you some more inspiration this week.......

Here's using the Six-sided Sampler, and only two colours, nice and simple

I think I cased this from Pinterest, so do let me know if it's your idea!
Cute butterflies and Rhinestones add detail.

Tom's birthday

Made this for Alan's Dad.....

Methinks I'll have to learn how to do this technique properly....
when I get 'the time' that is lol

Here's a close-up

little star

I promised to show you Ros's 'bucket'
well.....at long last I took a pic, and here it is!
It's actually a cute little tealight holder......
......with a fab Star on the side to decorate, with one of those lush frosted embellishments in the centre

I can't wait to get time to play even more with this star stamp............
Have you got yours yet?

see you soon
lots of love

To my first and therefore very special downline....

Star

Star.....by Ros

I love this stamp...one of the singles you can buy from Stampin' Up!
We used a doily for the background,
then stamped the star twice, and Ros showed us how to cut and fold the top one
to make it 'pop' 3-d style.
Cute tag embossed with faux stitching, card candy and rhinestone to decorate.

I'll show you her bucket soon ;)

Sunday 3 November 2013

more 'makes'

more makes 'n' takes, as promised......

Liz used one of the Stampin' Up! stamps you can buy with Hostess rewards...
such a cute set...

stars were stamped in white craft ink,
cute reindeer border, and the xmas tree with baubles and glitter.
This set could be used for so many different designs....bargain!

Jan's was simply elegant, and stole the show!
She has 'clean and simple' nailed!
Little leaves die cut in silver glimmer paper....
(I learn that you can take the backing off to make it easier to cut)
a few berries, simple greeting....done!
Oh, and not forgetting the matching envelope liner...

I'll be back with Ros's works of art.....
guess who forgot to take pics ???
yup....me!

pop back soon
lots of love

makes n takes

Hello!
Our team days include lots of makes 'n' takes that we share.

Here's some of the ones we made....

Sarah brought along the new Stampin' Up! envelope scoreboard (available soon!)
for us to play with....
you can make so much more than just envelopes!
She showed us how to make a file tab designed card,
with coredinations card embossed and sanded,
chevron ribbon, designer and glimmer paper to decorate.
I couldn't believe how quick and easy the board made it!
I might just have to add this to my wish list....

My contribution was  a very simple one with one of the single stamps.
Doily background, red glimmer paper, and circles cut with framelits dies.

There's more to show, so pop back soon!
lots of love

Stamped image on the candle,
and a luscious gift bag to match.....sick!
