Design-a-Tee in a shoe box

I had to come up with a shoe box swap recently.
This is a make n take where you put all the stuff to make your card in a box,
for everyone to make, everyone else does the same,
and then you pass all the boxes around the table.

Its a really fun way of making lots of different projects,
you don't have to wait for anything, and you can do it in your own time.
There are some times when the boxes stack up,
but it's a good excuse to have a cat if you're waiting for the next box.

I wanted to use the Designer T set, so played around with the new doily and a couple of shirts,
I love all the tiny details in this set, like the collars.

I also wanted to share some of the new Glimmer paper,
but didn't feel the above worked right,
so came up with a simpler version

too many stamped flowers I felt,
so did a less is more version

which is the design I settled on (above)

Then I was in playful mood, so tried to make an apron with a Tee,
to look like my SU one.....

Here's the card I made.....

Not quite true to life, but it's always fun using stamps in "alternative" ways!

Happy Stamping!

  1. Awesome cards using that wonderful stamp set. Love how you thought outside the box to create the apron. Way to go xxx

  2. What a beautiful set of cards Lesley. I recently bought this lovely set but haven't used it yet. Having seen your makes I think I may have a play tomorrow. That glitter paper looks gorgeous too. Barbxx

  3. I just love the shirt set but haven't purchased it yet. I love what you've done with it here, including the one to look like your apron.

I need to do a shoebox swap for Wednesday... had the idea in my head and the stuff on hand then.... the card didn't work out. I want to stamp the dots from the dragonfly set but ink, stamp and stamp again so you get just a light hint of color. It's not working because my dots don't stamp evenly. So if you lightly stamp (needed to keep some ink on the stamp for 2nd stamping) some dots don't stamp so your second time stamping most dots are light and then a couple dark. If you push hard enough to get all the dots to stamp the first time no ink is left for a second go through. AH! I made the card with full strength dots but it sort of lacks as it drowns out the dragonfly. I might bow out the shoebox swap since I don't know what to do about the dots.
