Fruity parquet floor

I saw this lovely technique for using up those snippets!

I'm going to join the celebrations in

http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com

where we come up with different ideas to use up all of our snippets.

So, this card uses a parquet type of pattern,
Originally inspired by Jo Blackman, I then saw more ideas from the

I found it fiddly at first, but you soon get the hang and it's a teeny bit addictive.
Not an expert at tiling, but you can arrange the 3cm x 1cm strips in many ways.
I glued mine to a piece of copy paper first, then glued the trimmed piece to my card.

My tips are arrange a few before gluing, so you get an idea of what design you'd like,
leave small gaps between the snippets, and start with a piece of paper larger then you require,
so you can trim to the desired size, chopping off any unwanted/untidy bits!

Thanks for stopping by, and see you soon!

  1. Great bit of tiling for your background. Seems to be the 'in' thing 'cos I've made a tiled background too this time though not as elaborate as yours.
