52cct ink blending

Hello, just popping by with an extra mid week post to help you get ahead with your Christmas cards.

The 52 Christmas card throwdown challenge this week is ink blending.

I used a snowflake embossing folder winter snow from Stampin’ Up! for my backdrop,

which I then blended with blue ink, to highlight the detail.

I die cut the snow using never before used Greetery snowdrift, the swirl detail gives extra texture.

The scene was fussy cut from some retired paper and tucked behind the snow drift.

I’m entering….52cct challenge

and

Inkspirational challenge #292 (embossed background)

Can you handle the pressure (anything goes embossing folder)

Rudolph Day

 Happy Rudolph Day,

another chance to kick start your Christmas cards.

You may notice I’ve had lots of fun with the Let’s Go Shopping paper from SU,

there’s more to come, sorry, but hopefully you’ll be able to use some of the ideas at least :)

So, I had to make a Christmas shop……I had trouble finding things to fit the scale,

but eventually found this retired paper, which I fussy cut to put behind the windows.

The pebble effect street is from the shops paper, the subtle “snow” an old stamp,

and the lamp post and bench from the shops dies.

Finally I added snow with stickles stuff.

So many snippets of paper, and card for the bench, lamppost, I’m going into the

Snippets Playground Challenge #457

and

Rudolph Day Challenge

Day in the office

I had a lot of fun creating this office scene.

Lots of little detailed dies from Gummiapan.

My desk shelf and stool were cut from wood effect paper (old SU).

The books were coloured with blend pens.

The radio and lamp cut from silver metallic card.

A scrap of white, die cut and snipped off for the lampshade.

I doodled in the open book, and to “ground” the pieces

I probably should have made the office look a lot messier to be realistic 😊.
I’m dropping into the Allsorts Challenge…anything goes option…see you there!

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and comments.

Sewing Room Snippets

 Hi, happy weekend to you.

Today I’m using some new to me dies to create a sewing room scene.

The photo makes the white card look textured, which it’s not, it’s clean and simple.

I did ground the elements with a grey blend pen, and die cut all the pieces from card scraps.
I coloured the machine with various pens while looking at a picture of a singer machine.
My ball of wool looks a bit like a snail :)

I just love the tiny scissors.
I wondered what the yellow wonky strip was, until I saw someone else’s tape measure!
(Just some small black marks added to give the illusion)
I probably haven’t got all the perspective correct……I’m not good at that!

Most dies emboss too. This helps with shading and highlighting.
I was able to make the material reams / rolls / bolts a bit more realistic.
The plaid under the machine , and the table were cut from decorative paper.
Just some of my scraps…..

I used lots of snippets, and had lots of fun with this,
so I’m going to the Snippets Playground challenge with this homework,
and entering the NBUS Challenge too.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and comments.

Tickled pink, with a touch of mint green and grey

Hello, a twofer today, first up some new- to -me dies had their first outing.

A lovely trellis is the background for this beautiful cone flower (one of my favourite flowers)

It’s a clean and simple hello card.

Silver grey die cuts, mint stalk, and rose pink flower

Next, part of Let’s go shopping from Stampin’ Up! I stamped the shop,

and added paper pieces behind the windows and door

a canopy die cut in blushing bride, all mounted onto matching cardstock.

and some greenery, in pear pizazz plus a triple stamped hello in basic gray

I’m entering the following challenges, from which I’ve had lots of inspiration:

Zoo dancing crew

Today I used Zoo Crew paper from Stampin’ Up!

Fussy cut my two “ballerinas”, having a fun, playful time,
inspired by Time out challenge and Freshly made sketches.

The sketch is a circle and rectangle, I used so saffron card, and the reverse of one of the papers,
along with some dainty flowers and sparkly rhinestones.
As the sun was shining I took a photo outside….

Maybe you can see the sparkle?

Musical Mice

Hi crafty friends, I’ve managed a couple more Christmas cards,

inspired by some blog challenges.

I tried my brayer on the embossing folder, not totally successful…bit patchy.

I cut a mask so I could tier the single tree to make a taller one.

I altered the die cut shape, by moving it and cutting off the top.

Added some ribbon to reflect the sketch challenges, and some adhesive gems. Coloured with Blender pens

The next one I used a blending brush to add some ink to the embossing.

I fussy cut 3 trees to make one taller one…..(which do you prefer?)

Here’s what I used

Added some “grounding” ink

Below you can see the single small tree…..too small imho.

I used lots of white snippets for the mice, trees and greeting, and a blue snippet for the first mat.

The Reading List

The Library Challenge currently has

#81 The Reading List

Here’s my take on it….

Using Let’s Go Shopping Designer Series Paper,
I’ve fussy cut everything except the central strip,
using the large books in a similar layout to the windows,
books in my bookshop, and similar colours

So if you love books, do pop over to the Library Challenge
