Hit the Bullseye!

It's beloved's birthday, so I always try to make something special.

He has quite a few hobbies, which makes it a lot easier.
I've done golf, cycling, billiards, so decided on darts this time.

Had a great plan in my head........did it go according to plan?
Does it ever? as if!!!!!......

Sunburst die......eventually decided to draw lines to make it neater than prototype number one!
Found the middle roughly and drew towards outside edges.
(daffodil delight)

Die cut a circle from it trying to focus roughly on centre point

Cut out smaller circle frames in old olive

Added the bullseye.
Carefully cut along lines,
stuck green circles on and cut away the green bits in between.

Cut circle from basic black, and smaller circle frames from real red,
trying to line them up with green! (NOT easy!)

Stuck it together........not bad compared to prototype one!

Forgot to take pic of drawn lines on sunburst......so cut another one!
Happened to put 'dart board' on top of sunburst.....
hey presto, happy accident....
a few (ok more than a few) attempts at lining them up......roughly!

Added a banner greeting,
and a computer generated insert

Needless to say I won't be making another in a hurry!!!

Have a great day
Lesley

p.s. yes I know it's not true to a proper dartboard, segments, numbers etc,
but I was going for the illusion!

pps lots of snippets used, so might make it over to the
Snippets Playground........while he's snoozing.....

  2. You have way more patience and talent than! I would have made a bullseye along the lines of the Target Stores logo and called it good. Yours is way cool!

  5. Crumbs Lesly - this really is fabulous! Thanks so much for the mini-tutorial as well. I wonder if I can do something similar to create and archery target for Len's next Birthday card?! Mind you, it wouldn't be as complicated as yours! They only score on the rings :)

    Hugs
