Mini faux tiles meet Summer Silhouettes

I hope you'll like this one courtesy of Sarn's talents,

it's another faux tile example, scored on a smaller scale.

The joy of this, is that it doesn't matter if your stamping is not perfect,

and by trying not to press too hard, the 'grout' lines are clearer.

I like the randomness of the stamping, and the colours.

This set Summer Silhouettes is one of my

all time favourites....it's soooo versatile....

ooooops versa'tile' teehee, I really did type that before I saw it!

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop

My Playmates make some lovely projects,

so over the next few days I will treat you to some

from our latest play day....

Here's one from Liz

using Flower Shop and Summer Silhouettes.

She kindly made us some clay flowers too....

they are so light and lush, so don't add much to posting costs!

with an embossed panel and butterfly,

and a fab stamped collage of summery-ness!

Monthly swap

Flower Shop meets Summer Silhouette.

A group of us are doing a monthly postal swap

organised by Sarn, who's fab blog can be seen HERE...

So this was the swap I made last month

(where DID January go?!?!?!)

I stamped and then masked each flower,

so that one appears in front and the others behind.

I then did a shadow line around them with a marker pen.

This enhances the 3-D effect (hopefully!).

The little sentiment has been die-cut

 with one of the many extras from the Thinlits flip card dies.

Rhinestones add some bling :)

Notelets

The last of the notelets took a bit of practice.

Ink up the clear acrylic block of choice,

and place them on card stock, to give background blocks of colour.

I then used scrap paper to mask off the bottom section,

and stamp some simple leaves.

They were stamped a second and third time to give the shadow effect.

Stamps used were Summer Silhouettes, Papillon Potpourri.

Inks were Midnight Muse, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals, Cajun Craze.

You can also decorate the envelopes to match.

Notelets

For this one, I used the 'rock and roll' technique.

I kept it simple (pretty amazing for me!).

I used a single flower from Summer Silhouettes.

Ink the stamp, then roll the edges in a darker or different colour,

giving a two-tone effect.

I then added a little butterfly in a contrast colour.

Notelets

I decided to make some Notelets to put in my

Stationery Holder.

I got the idea from Debbie Kolberg, to make single layer cards,
using different stamping techniques.

Stampin' Stars Training day

Hiya, hope you've had a good weekend!

I had a fab day on Saturday with lots of lovely Stampin' Up! friends,

full of laughter, inspiration, tips, crafting and cake!

We each make 'swaps' which are little pieces of work,

to share ideas and products we may not have ourselves.

It's often the most treasured part of the day!

I came home with a lovely box full of goodies that I will share in due course.

Here's my 'swap',

a gift tag using the 'emerging colours' technique.

I stamped the oval zigzag design in daffodil delight, then the words in versamark, and clear embossed,

using Oh Hello stamp set.

I then stamped the leaves and flowers from Summer Silhouettes,

then stamped over them in versamark and clear embossing powder again.

The final stage was to sponge all over with tempting turquoise ink,

then buffing to reveal the underlying colours.

A few pearls and ribbbon add the finishing touch.

June 'Make n take'

For our team day, I chose this project for us all to make.

It's based on Summer Silhouettes, using Calypso Coral, Midnight Muse, and a natural for the leaves.

We added glitter to the flower centres,

some of the new Washi tape from 'This and That',

Two vellum butterflies, die-cut and layered,

a vintage button, and some ribbon.

Love all the layers, Elegant Enchantment papers, matching brad and ribbons.

Not a CAS! (clean and simple)

This one originated from a JKCards challenge...some time ago,
and it's surprised me how it was a favourite of some of my class ladies.

Perhaps it is the colours?
I used Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the black card.

The left one is again very simple, collage stamping on a strip, tied with a ribbon bow, 

unmounted onto a card as yet.

The right-hand one started with a blue 'trellis' from the same Summer Silhouettes

stamp set, then stamped over with the leaves and flowers

A simple one using some design series papers,

two simple banners, and another Elegant Butterfly

Another one I cased from somewhere, 

and I just love the simple knot used as an imaginary tying of the bouquet

Summer Silhouettes...again!

I saw the unusual layout of the one on the left,

and tried it out using 3 scraps of coloured card.

Stamped them butted together, then glued them to the card slightly apart.

Faux brads punched from gold glimmer paper add interest.

The right-hand one is an idea from Barbara Gray (Clarity Stamps).

I drew a wonky (on purpose!) line to join the 'Thanks' greetings, 

thus 'framing' the simple stamping.

Summer Silhouettes

(Left) I saw the idea of using the Create a Cupcake case as a flowerpot somewhere... 

I stamped the leaves first, then 3-D'd the rest (is 3-d'd a word?!).

(Right) stamped background with flowers, cut out a mat from Framelits die,

stamped off the leaves, then added flowers and Elegant Butterfly on *foam pads

(*'Dimensionals' as  Stampin' Up! calls them!)

This one was cased from Jen Mitchell,

using Summer Silhouettes

Love Indigo Blue, and the matching ribbon.

The flowers are cut out leaving a small border.

The Rhinestones add a bit of bling, and the 'scattering' of gems seems to very 'in' at the mo!

More Summer Silhouettes ideas to come, 

because I set myself a challenge to see how many different designs I could find...

Shadows

I thought you might like to see one of my class projects today.

I wanted to share the technique of making a 'shadow' effect

with second-generation ink.

All this means is that you stamp an image for a second time , without re-inking. 

 Simple, but effective, giving a faux 3-D look.

Team Challenge

Here's another in-team challenge.

This week's layout did not inspire me at all, BUT I actually liked how it turned out.

Just goes to show there's no telling how a project will end up,

and how often it's not what you had in mind at all!

The challenge is one found on JKCards.wordpress.com, and it's actually originally a

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge (#24)......bit of a mouthful!

This one's on confetti white card (similar to neutrals), using Everyday Enchantment DSP.

I just wanted to share a couple more things........

This is my attempt at another JKCards challenge...

I am really enjoying these challenges.

If you've never done one.....give it a go!

It makes me attempt things I wouldn't have otherwise tried,

plus it can also help get the mojo going!

The stamp is from Summer Silhouettes,

colours basic black, riding hood red, confetti white,

and I hope you can see the shimmer of irridescent ice?!

I used white craft ink to stamp on the black, then embossed.

I slightly curved the flower on my clear block, to get a slightly different angle.

I haven't decided who this one is for yet,

so I haven't added a sentiment.

For Sharon

This was a LITTLE more simple (not a lot!)

Summer Silhouettes again (can you tell yet, it's one of my faves?!)

And the OH SO GORGEOUS NEW ELEGANT BUTTERFLY Punch...

(I'm sorry, but you just HAVE to get this one!),

stamped with Papillon Potpourri (OH SO GORGEOUS TOO!),

and covered in dazzling diamonds by using the clever heat and stick powder first.

The little flower decoupaged using Daffodil Delight Ink,

and some Crochet Trim. 

The sentiment is from A Word for You.....

Summer Silhouettes

Here's a collage-type card I made.....

Didn't turn out quite like I had in my head! (Do you find that?)

I blinged it up with some NEW Iridescent Ice embossing powder, and Rhinestones.

The sentiment is 'Beautiful Birthday', a lovely single stamp for only £5.95!

Colours - Melon Mambo (of course!), Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade.
