All about Books…

 A birthday card for a dear friend….

I just loved the All About Autumn paper, that sold out too quickly 😢

I used these two background snippets to create a cozy office look..

I then used snippets of card, cream and metallic, to make the topper.

It’s meant to represent a desk, with the books and lamp.

Then, because he’s a dog lover, how did I incorporate a Labrador?…..

Eventually I fussy cut a tiny silhouette stamp, as an ornament!

I used lots of snippets, so I can play in the Snippets Playground challenge #470 😃,

the theme there is Anything BUT Christmas…..there’s No Christmas here!

Polar Bears

 We had a nice quiet Christmas, hope you had a good one?

My sisters plans were a bit scuppered!

One bro in law fell and dislocated his shoulder…….

it was touch and go whether they could go to the hotel they’d booked,

but happily they did, and are still having a nice time.

The other bro in law had pneumonia……Hospital is not what they’d planned on Christmas Day,

but again happily he was home that night, and is recovering well.

I thought I’d share my last Christmas cards pics for this year…..

I got a pack of this paper, and had fun fussy cutting and creating various designs…

Some of these designs were cased from Emma Goddard, do visit her blog Coastal Crafter.

I used some flocked vellum

Made one for a family of three..

Then dry embossed snowflake backgrounds for these…

I hope you and yours enjoyed the holidays

Winter in the Jar

 Hi there, how’s it going?

I’ve popped by to share another card, partly because there were a couple of challenges I wanted to enter.

The stamp was a gift, it’s by Lesia Zgharda, from the Ukraine.

There’s 3 snow globes in the set, so I decided to use all of them!

I used some patterned paper, and some blue glitter paper (SU)

Coloured the jars, and winked them……hence a bit of smudging 🙄.

It is all sparkly though 😃

Christmas wreaths, Santa hats &holly…

 Hello again, I’m back today with some challenge entries,

and as it’s nearly Christmas I’ve got three variations!

Winter Pup an old wooden stamp from Hero Arts, wearing his hat.

The wreaths are an old SU die set, and the hats Gummiapan.

The gems are SU iridescent discs, nice and flat for posting.

I took a pic of some of the many snippets used, so I can join in the party and nativity play/panto/mayhem

Another old wooden stamp from Great Impressions,

and a gold card blank from SU

I had some blank cards that I need to use up, and was actually quite pleased with the dark backgrounds.

Another pup, this time surrounded by holly from Visible Image,

Decorated with red stickle berries.

Home for Winter

 Hi there, hope you’re well and surviving the holiday stress.

This was a one off, made during a mad rush to make enough cards to send….

I just masked some snowy hills and added a glow around the candle.

I used a new juicy versafine ink pad, and the birds are not quite clear enough.

It’s a stamp set I will definitely revisit next year.

Christmas Companions

 

Today’s selection uses the same scene as yesterday, but with other sets too.

I did some white ink splattering and some wink of Stella for sparkle.

I made my own masks to make it a bit easier to ink up the sky.

I experimented, trying to find a version I preferred, 

but they ended up mostly different in small ways.

The Santa is from an old SU set.

I made these while recovering from the super cold virus that’s been doing the rounds.

I had to squeeze my mojo out, as I still didn’t have enough cards to send this year.

Next years plan is to make more each month 🙄,

I expect most of you will have the same ambition!

Isn’t it just the best feeling when they’re all delivered!

Pine panorama baubles

 I’ve had a play with a new stencil, a scenic stamp, and some trimmings.

I can enter the NBUS, as I’ve not used the stencil before.

All are on white card, with a black layer, the scene stamped in black ink.

I see that the Colour Throwdown Challenge #772 wants blue, aqua, gold,

So below you can sees the blues, with a gold bauble hanger. I 

There’s also lots of glitter for sparkle, plus I winked areas too.

As the stencil is a bauble, I can enter the Allsorts challenge, with something beginning with “B”.

Clean and simple on Sunday #272 wants black white and one other colour,

so I’m hoping this one is clean and simple enough.

the card has a white hanger that I’ve inked lightly in the same blue ink

The sentiments are white on black, and cut from a Clarity sheet.

Christmas Kickstart challenge #81 is for anything Christmassy.

All are slightly different and were fairly quick to make….once I’d figured it out😂.

Snowy and Hedgy

 I’m back with yet another old wooden stamp, gifted from a friend,

and again two cards, one on white, one on crumb cake.

I really like this one, I did make a mask, then blended some ink for the background, 

and stamped some old SU snowflakes.

Next, I used a white pen for snow, and underlined the sentiment using the same pencil I used on the image.

House Mouse by candle light

 This is another old wooden stamp gifted by a friend, it’s so cute.

The first card has a simple inked background,

with some gentle colouring.

I put a glow around the flame, and used a glittery pen to make the candle holder shine….

Next card was on crumb cake (you’ve probably noticed I’ve done this a lot to see the difference)

Same gentle colouring and added sparkle.

I think I prefer them on white best, do you?
