Tea Together

Hello
hope you're all keeping safe and well.
It's all been a bit sad and scary hasn't it.
But it's nice we can still send nice things in the post.

I had to change my idea for mum's mothers day card, as we couldn't visit her,
so I used this Tea Together set which has nice sentiments,
together with some pretty paper.

Sorry the photos are a bit wishy washy.
It was a shaped card blank, and I did do some gentle watercolouring on the stamped images,
although it's hard to see.

Mum loves her cup of tea, and she seemed to like her card.
Not quite the same as a visit, but needs must.
She got panicky about her clocks being changed this morning,
but luckily her carer and lovely neighbour sorted them.
It's so hard not being able to go and help her.

Well, the first day of summertime and we got snow, sleet and hail !!
The sun's shining now though........hope it shines for you too

Take care

Mother's Day

Hi there
how are you doing?
It's a stressful time, so do reach out for help if you need it.
People are only too happy to do something to help.
It's very sad for some people, so do know that we're thinking of you.

Mother's Day was a bit different this year, to say the least!
We've always tried to have lunch with both sets of parents,
but my mum is on her own now, and her and Alan's parents are self isolating.
(which used to be known simply as staying at home!)
So lunch was cancelled, but they still had cards!

This Bonnet/Hat Easel card was courtesy of my friend Jan Twinks,
who has lovely classes in Hastings.
We were all amazed we managed this one, as it looked so complicated!

However, she took us step by step and we all ended up pleased as punch with our efforts!

The lovely paper was enhanced by the gems, flower and ribbon.
This one was for Alan's mum, hand delivered, as they live very near.

I had to change the plan for my mum's card, as it had to go in the post.
I hope you'll come back tomorrow to see that one.

Take care of yourself

Diamond Easel Fold

Hi there
fancy some cards to look at to take your mind off things?
I was so glad to have crafting to take my mind off what's going on.
These we made at class...........sadly had to cancel classes for now :(
But at least we can all keep in touch and help each other through this.

First up is my Bird Ballad design.....

Above top shows it closed for posting
Above bottom shows it upright with the greeting on foam pads as the "stopper"

I tried a few angles to find better light, but as you know my photography needs work :)

The actual card base is not too complicated but it's best to lay out the other bits before
sticking it all together, making sure its in the right place :)

Above is using Magnolia Lane,
and below Butterfly Gala

Do take care, keep safe, keep well, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it!
These are very testing times indeed

Jingle Bells

Hello
I hope you are having a good weekend, despite what is going on in the world.
Sun is shining here.....hopefully we'll get more of that and less rain.
Definite signs of spring with the primroses and daffodils out.

So what am I sharing today?
A Christmas card!
My first this year..........normally I try to get ahead, but nope
that 'ain't happening this year so far.

I was lucky to win this cute mini stamp set and die in the
Snippets Playground challenge.......and had to have a play.
I always try to make at least one project with a new set,
before it goes on the shelf.

I cut an aperture in the white card blank.
A snippet of black die cut skyline was stuck behind and trimmed.
I wanted Rudolph to "fly" so glued a strip snippet of acetate
to hang him behind the aperture above the skyline.
Then it needed some tidying up!

To get a reverse image so I could place it on the back and sandwich the acetate,
I used the Stamparatus and silicone sheet.
There's lots of tutorial out there showing how to get a mirror image/ reflection.
I also stuck a snippet of black to the upper section inside.

I then created some "sky" with a snippet of blue glimmer paper,
stamped jingle bells in two colours, and added some star sequins.
This is a very cute set from Clearly Besotted, which was easy to stamp and die cut.
I think some paper piecing may come next.......
Meantime I'll pop over to the Snippets Playground before it gets dark.....

Stay safe, keep well

Perfect Presents

Happy Sunday

Sharing a card brought to the craft table by a lovely friend.
Some of you might recognise her style :)

Stamped the presents, and again on spare card to fussy cut
and decoupage on top

Coloured them in and "grounded" them with some ink.
Set at a jaunty angle et voila!
Love it!

Creations By Rod in Lesley's Craft Room

Hi there
I love looking round other peoples craft spaces,
so wondered if you'd like to see mine?
I had some inserts created by Rod of

He had a really nasty accident on new years eve,
so I'm hoping his hand is mending well now.

Under the window I wanted some drawers, but Rod's 2-drawer units (top) proved to be to tall,
as I wanted my printer and laptop on top, and the keyboard was too high for vertically challenged me.
The solution was to ask him to create some single drawers instead.
These have been placed in a row, a perfect solution.

Rod also made them deeper as well, as can be seen above,
they hold a fair few stamp cases, or anything you wish.
All the units can be moved around, which is very handy,
as many of us rearrange our spaces don't we?
He also makes the drawers with "legs" (not the technical name for them!)
at the back, that stop them falling out.
Although this reduces the actual drawer space, it's a very clever feature,
as you can keep the drawer open, but safe from falling.

Above (top) is one of Rods units for Punches, These are to the back of A4 cardstock units.
Some of my Ikea units are accessible from both sides, so I hope this makes sense.
Below the punches is another unit Rod made me which holds stamps and odd shaped punches.
Rod will make bespoke pieces to suit, but they are not at bespoke prices,
so if you have particular needs, don't be afraid to ask him.

To the left of the window is another unit (yet to be sorted), my airing cupboard
where you can see my apron and bag, and a couple of dvd sized units,
that houses some stamp sets ;)

Above are my desks (not normally this tidy).
It's still a work in progress, but I have much better use of the space now,
more storage keeps it tidier, and easier to find things.

Above is the other side of my desks.........
I just love my paper and card racks!!!

Do contact Rod (and no I'm not on comission!),
he's a lovely chap with a lovely wife, very easy to talk to,
and will be more than happy to discuss your requirements.
His units are beautifully made and very strong.
They have certainly enhanced my crafting space enormously.

Hope you enjoyed the tour
have a good weekend

Golden Afternoon

Golden Afternoon is a lovely detailed stamp set, perfect for all occasions.
Sympathy cards were sadly required so here;s what I made...

Inspired by Vicky Hayes (CraftingClaire),
I kept them simple, but used die cuts for interest.

Above
Here the stitched rectangle was cut after stamping, then raised on foam pads.
I added an enamel heart to the sentiment.

For this one I added colour to the circle after cutting it out, then set it back in.
(A version of the Spotlight technique)
I added stamping on the envelope and inside.

Perfect for the moments you can't put into words.
Thoughts are with you if you are missing a loved one.
