CAS Aspen Trees

Here’s a couple of simple cards I made some time ago,

using Aspen Tree Dies, and some old background papers.

The beauty of this die is it creates the oval as well as cutting the trees.

I added a simple sentiment

Then a simple die cut deer in gold

I made another just using different paper and sentiment.

That’s another two for the box

Mum's Hues of Happiness

Last of the recent double frame idea, this one's a bigger A5 card

for a special Lady, Alan's Mum.

She loves flowers, especially roses.

I used the internet to find a couple of verses,
using one as the focal point.

I never tire of this pretty paper. I added some gems for sparkle.
Inside....

I was tempted to add some flowers top left for balance, but it seemed too much?
Did you spot the mistake?........my frame is offset / not evenly placed.....
but it was too late, as it took me a while and ran out of time!
Let's hope she doesn't notice :)

Hues of Navy and Lime

 Hi there

I discovered this double layer frame idea from Lucinda Monks, and used it for a recent class project.

I used some flowers cut from Hues of Happiness paper,
You can use incomplete images to tuck behind the frame.

Challenges:
Colour hues #48 (navy and lime)

Rings of Love little villages

Hi there

Following on from yesterday, and you may remember my christmas version

using the DSP Rings of Love?

Here's some alternatives for any occasion.

You can use incomplete medallions for the background,
and little bits of shrubbery or trees to fill any gaps and create your scene.

Sending Smiles is fab for sentiments.

You can cut the centre from a medallion for a "sun"

I ended up with quite a few :)

Love & Big Hugs

Hi there, I've been playing with the Rings of Love paper,

my goodness it's so adaptable, and lends itself to a lot of fussy cutting,

if that's your bag, and I do love fussy cutting.

I got inspiration from JamieB.com
Using one of the "doily" images as background, adding house and leaves.

I even cut some of the little trees and bushes, to hide gaps and build dimension.
A little resin heart is popping out of the chimney.
I chose Soft Sea Foam as a backing colour.

Take care where ever you are, and enjoy your day.

Autumn Bouquet

 Hi there

Here’s an extra card for the weekend, ready to embrace the cooler weather.

The first time I’ve used Fond of Autumn stamp set, Autumn Bouquet Dies,

And Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder (love it!)

Used a couple strips of Rings of Love paper, and a strip of gold,
Which looks brown! Ugh!

Coloured in part of the bouquet (this is a fascinating set, as you can cut the whole image,
Or cut it into sections, which is fab for layering).
Added a teeny sentiment and gold gem flower centres.

I’m entering the following challenges:

The four season challenge “fall” (autumn)
Country view challenges “mists, mellow fruitfulness” (berries, acorns, (just see on paper), autumn hues)

Abigail Rose

Hi, another quick card using Abigail /Cottage Rose
I had this set on my desk after making other projects,
and decided to use more of the papers.

A simple layout with another strip of paper, tied with twine,
added a crumb cake oval, some flowers , die cuts and gems.

It's from the same papers I used on my woven card below.

Mouse flies off during Elephant Parade !

 Hi there

A quick card was needed for a little girl, so out came the baby Elephant.

He holds a flower for her, but wait!.....the mouse has floated off with the balloon!

Here's the set, which has matching dies, just so adorable.

I coloured the balloon with blends, and added grass from Counting Sheep.

I just outlined the baby ellie with grey for speed

Have a great day

Rings of Love for Rudolph Day

It's the 25th of the month and that means it's the Rudolph Day Challenge again.

A good nudge to make some christmas cards :)

I love the Rings of Love paper, and also love fussy cutting,
so of course I had to snip out some of the cute houses!

The soft colours can be used for any occasion, so by keeping it clean and crisp,
adding some glittery snow, and a sentiment, why not christmas !?

Loved cutting little trees and bushes to add dimension!

Used Itty Bitty sentiment to go with the itty bitty pics!

Hop over to the Rudolph Day Challenge for more inspiration!
(If it's late in posting, as Maureen aka scrappy Mo, has her plate full, do try the following day)

Meadows (1)

Hi there, my next few posts are for Di at Pixie's  Crafty Workshop,

as I sent her some die cuts to play with, from the Meadow Dies, which are florals and butterflies,

and I promised to come up with some ideas.

First up using one of the Split Card Texture Dies that I've not used before,

although any detail die would work.

I cut it twice to cover the piece of card, placed it over some paper from Rings of Love DSP,

then placed one of the Meadow die cuts on top, and added some iridescent pearls.

Do visit over the next couple of days for some inky versions!

I'm going to enter the NBUS challenge as this is the first time I've used this die.

Paper Weaving

Hi there, I hope you're keeping cool where you are, as it's super hot here in Kent.

Luckily I'm in front of a fan in my craft room, to share a card for the

Snippets Playground Challenge #434.

Stampin' Up! shared a fun paper weaving video recently,

and I just happened to have some paper snippets on my desk from Abigail Rose.

The photo doesn't really show how pretty the papers are,
in soft shades like crumb cake, petal pink, and smoky slate.
The "twist" is to chop the ends to create random angled tails.
I had a simple printed sentiment in my snippets box, that fit perfectly.

Take care where ever you are, and enjoy your day.
