Strawberries and ice lollies

I’ve been playing with the SU Celebratory Sips designer paper.

There are so many wonderful ideas out there, and I love finding alternative ways to use things.

You may be thinking what’s this got to do with the cocktails on the paper?!

One of the sheets is of coloured squares and rectangles.

Some crafters have used them as backgrounds,

but I had some fruity stamp sets out on my desk to go with the paper,

this stamp set and punch is SU Sweet Strawberry.

(CARD 1)

As I don’t have the Sips bundle, I thought πŸ€” hmmm…..

I could stamp (the outline) and punch strawberries out of the reddish squares….

I used scrap paper to attach a “handle”, to get it into the punch.

I’d seen a design by Tami White…..

Hence I cased it!
I stamped and punched the flowers and leaves, using ink blending and a bigger stamp for the background.

It is Wimbledon week, so you have to have strawberries don’t you!

Then I saw another card, unrelated to cocktails again, with an ice lolly design, byDenise Morgans,

and came up with this, using those rectangles and an arch die from SU…
CARD 2

I used a small sentiment die from The Greetery, “Sentiment Suite” Basic, for the sticks.
The “drips” are from SU Notes & Totes, to which I applied gloss

I used lots of snippets for both cards,
so I’m popping over to the Snippets Playground Challenge #510

I’m also entering the following:
Inkspirational challenge #345 (3 of the same, card 1)
Allsorts #827 (for a child or AG, card 2)
Inspired by #summer photo (summer strawberries and reds in the photo card 1)

I’ll be back soon to share some cocktails πŸΈπŸΉπŸ˜ƒ

Thanks for taking the time to visit, and I really appreciate your comments

Take care and see you soon

Enjoy today…

 Hi there, how are you?

I’ve been struggling a bit with life, and have not been crafting for a few weeks,

but it’s nice to be easing back into it with the incentive of a new challenge for ATC’s and Tags.

I’ve had a new-to-me set waiting to be played with,  “Beach Days” from SU……

Brenda shared how to make a pocket, which you can see HERE,
she shares some beautiful artwork too.
My pocket is made with some old SU paper.

The ball on the ATC is about to flatten the sandcastle!
It’s strategically placed to cover an inky smudge πŸ˜‚

I hope you enjoy today, and get some inspiration from this fab new challenge

Tag-Along (and ATC's)

I’m also popping over to

NBUS Challenge #74

Snippets Playground #506 (lots of white card snippets and snippet of paper)

My brother in law has Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia, and has sadly been admitted to a care home, after being cared for so well by my sister. I’m sure some of you can empathise.
Then my neighbours, without warning, submitted a Planning Application for a massive 5 bed house right next to our southern boundary, which would impact our privacy and daylight. We’re just hoping it will not get approval. It’s so sad our countryside is being devastated by all the house building everywhere.
I know there’s some of you that have been struggling with so much more, so hugs to you.
I’m grateful to be among so many caring crafters.

Thanks for taking the time to visit, and I really appreciate your comments.

Take care and see you soon

The proposed house would be where those tall dark trees are at the back 😒

Poinsettias for Christmas kickstart

I saw the Christmas kickstart challenge #97 nearly two weeks ago.

I knew I had a stash of pre cut bits n bobs, but it’s taken me a while to put some cards together.

These were fussy cut from a DSP, and I like to use the partial edge pieces if I can.
I added a pre cut sentiment and added some Irridescent discs

Next I embossed a background piece in white, added a die cut frame, and winked it

a few rhinestones add sparkle

A couple of die cuts circles, and some red branches,

with some more shiny discs

Lastly, a DL card, more circles, and tiny stamped holly,
with a sentiment from Clarity.
I think this is my favourite, do you have one?

Do hop over to see everyone’s cards

Sets used are under “labels”

Take care and see you soon

Golden Honey

Using my new favourite ….Arch die set, I made a gift box,

with inspiration from erica@pinkbuckaroo.com,

I cut two arch pieces, sandwiched a hand made box in between.

Some old SU paper and bee die set…

There have been lots of busy bees in the garden,

enjoying the sunshine as much as me!

Take care and see you soon

Colour Blocking

Hope your weekend is going well.

I came across this technique, Colour Blocking,

and gave it a try using different card stock cut into sections

I then stamped and embossed over the top..

My inspiration, and much better examples can be found here:

Carissa Wiley of Sprinkledwithglitter.com

This should take you to the video…

Take care and see you soon

Winter Wonderland and a winter feast

This is another card inspired by a dear friend.
She designed the layout, I just tried to do it justice.
She brought a few stamps, I think from Cardio, and I added Santa from an old SU stamp.

Blended the background with ink, using a mask for the snow, made from torn paper.
The rising or setting sun looks more like a bonfire πŸ˜‚
Added splats and snow on the branches.

We had a festive lunch with my sister and brother in law,
at a new Spanish Restaurant in our village.
It was our first visit, and will not be our last!
Look away if you don’t want to see delicious food!

I’m popping the card over to Stamping sensations December winter challenge

Peaceful Cabin

I’m still making Christmas cards, but these were made last month with a dear friend.

She is generous in so many ways, including with her talent and  craft stash!

The background paper was die cut (Chloe I think), partially cutting poinsettias.

I used SU Peaceful Cabin….stamped and diecut.
I had stamped direct and made a pigs ear of it!
I also stamped subtle snowflakes on the paper.

I’m taking this to the Peace On Earth challenge #78

I liked the look of the happy accident, so went with the trees from the same set next.

The poinsettias had tiny foam pads a under the petals to keep them raised,
and lots of glitter was added to both.

I’m taking this to the Allsorts Challenge #811, anything goes.

Take care and see you soon

Christmas wreaths with Santa

Today I have another couple of  Christmas cards,

both using a wreath die from SU, but completely different.

Love the Gummiapan Santa, sitting on a pine branch,
having a well deserved rest πŸ˜ƒ., before he rushes off to join the Allsorts Challenge #804,
where the theme is cute and/or cuddly…..I think Santa is both don’t you?….
If not, there’s the anything goes category.

This one uses poinsettia flowers,SU, and also the SU wreath.

I’m taking this one to the Snippets Playground #492 ….

I remembered to take a picture of my Snippets too…..
die cut from small pieces of cardstock and bagged up.

Pink for the cure with Reindeer Days

I’m back with another entry to the Jingle Bells Pink Christmas

SU Reindeer Days and Spotlight on Nature dies, (a stand alone set of circles, soooo gorgeous),
and an SU embossing folder Woodland Textured, not used for a while.
I cut a red nose a few times, adding wink πŸ˜‰ so it stands out.
The bells were cut from gold foil, the berries red glitter paper.

I was quite pleased with this……now do I add a sentiment….or not? πŸ€”

Taking this to :

Jingle Bells, pink for the cure for breast cancer,
where there’s a donation by two lovely ladies to breast cancer research.
