The Bird has flown take 2....

Hi there
glad you popped back!
See my post earlier for the details,
but this was another version of the same idea,
but using different colours.....again trying to use a friend's favourites.

I used Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather.
You might be able to see the shimmer paint splats here.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate all your visits and comments.
Take care

Free As A Bird, but the bird has flown..

Hello again
I was inspired by Jan Clothier of thinkingstamping.co.nz
to make some cards using a masking and inking technique.
Check out her lovely card HERE.

I masked off a panel and used a sponge brayer to add ink, fading it out at the bottom.
Stamped and coloured in the leaves, and stamped a coloured the flowers
on a separate scrap of card.

I chose some of my friend's favourite colours,
Balmy Blue and So Saffron, and I also added glitter which is rare for me!

I also added some splats of shimmer paint, by brushing gently against the lid.
Sorry my pics don't show this very well.

I loved this design so much, I decided to make another,
but you'll have to come back later to see!!

I used the Free As A Bird stamp set, but just used the flowers and leaves.
That's the great thing about sets, you can just use elements of it.

See you soon for take 2 !

So Many Stars

Hi thanks for stopping by.

I saw this idea on a Sizzix demo......ages ago.....
....only just got round to trying it.
Hopefully you can see below, how I cut stars from silver glimmer paper
and a panel of white.

Then insert the silver into the white and tape it on the back as seen above.
You can then mount the white panel on foam pads to raise it up.
I used spare strips of white card stuck on the back instead.

The one above was for a friend and team member, on achieving another goal.
I liked the design, so did another at the same time, for Christmas!

Have a good weekend wherever you are whatever you do.
Stay safe and well.

It Starts With Art Snippets & Mixed Borders

Hello again
I love the Snippets Playground, at Pixie's Crafty Workshop,
and made a card using lots of Snippets.
Strips of paper form the backdrop, on top of a stamped  base.
I then added a stamped strip, inked using daubers to get two-tone.
I then cut two fancy border strips from more snippets.

I added some die cuts using snippets of card for the faux buttons.
I love the press studs cut from silver foil, so made a few extras
using the tiniest of snippets ever!.............hate to waste foil/expensive card!
I'm off to visit the Playground.....do join me!

Sending Hugs

Daisy Delights

Hi there
I've managed some crafty time, in between gardening and stuff.
There's always stuff isn't there?
Anyhoooo...........without further adoooo
Smile......go on Smile.....it exercises your face muscles :)

I've been following a lovely blog by Anita - NeetandCrafty
and feeling in a CAS (otherwise known as clean and simple) mood in
the Craft Room...........

I stamped and masked the daisies..........using sticky notes,
masked off a border with stencil tape ......not as tacky as masking tape,
and doesn't tear your project....ask me how I know that :),
and used a sponge brayer to add ink.
Below is the inside...

I used my Stamparatus (see above) to stamp the "smile".
I left the masks on the daisies, just in case, and was able to get a nice black sentiment
by stamping it three times.

I then decided I liked the smaller daisy more....and chose a brighter colour
(Mango Melody instead of Balmy Blue)
I added some stalks this time..........and used a black fine liner where it wasn't black enough.

I think this is my favourite, what do you think?
Do pop over to Anita's blog......she has some lovely elegant designs and ideas.
I'm linking up with PerfectlyCleanandSimple  Masking challenge too,
as there's lots of masking done here :)

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Sunday
Hopefully we'll be able to share good times soon.
This is for the heroes in all the services that are keeping us going.

Here's a few pics of my garden...an oasis at this time

We have two little ponds, good for wildlife.
We get many birds, Frogs, Bats, Badgers, Foxes, Grass Snakes, occasional Deer and Ducks.
Sadly no Hedgehogs :(

Looks good from a distance, but you can't see the nettles and weeds :)

Take care

Magic Window

Happy Easter weekend
I hope you are all doing ok under the circumstances.
Fortunately the weather has been kind, so that's been a bonus.

A kind friend gifted me a die set, that makes an interactive card...
Magic Windows Slide and Reveal by Angela Poole.

Below was a first attempt, cutting one circle from the black n white paper,
you might just see the tab you have to pull around the circle to reveal
the other paper circle detail.

Here's a second attempt below, using more paper, the centre disc can be covered
with a sentiment or embellishment, such as the butterfly above.
I thought this had a better contrast with the "reveal"

I then had the confidence to make a couple of actual cards........
I always have a try-out first with new tools, do you?

So below, the lovely mermaid paper....
reveals unicorns

Then the wizards........
reveal dragons and knights

It was fund making these, once I got the hang of it.
I think these will be cool for kids :)

See you back here tomorrow......
no cards, but a peek around my garden....
Take care

Lesley's Craft Room Display

Hello
how are you doing?

I thought I'd share my craft room display.......sadly no one can see it in the flesh,
but I had a birthday just before the lockdown, and received some gorgeous cards.
There are also a few cards, below left,  made with my friend and team leader Kim Fee.

It's a very different Easter this year, but I hope you have a nice weekend,
and there's always chocolate to cheer us up!
Take care

The Gang's all Meer

Hello
how are you doing?
It's a sunny day here in Kent, so I've been in the garden.....
which I know I am so lucky to have, especially at the moment.

So whatever situation you are in, I hope it gets better real soon,
meantime these may make you smile.

I raised a frame up from the base card, stamped and fussy cut the little guy bottom right,
and stamped the family on the base card, having pencil marked the frame first, for positioning.

On the other card I added some inking background for the sky and sand.

Keep smiling
thank you for visiting
