Rings of Love and gnome

I still had the Kindest Gnomes on my desk plus the Ring of Love Paper,

and I saw the Freshly Made Sketches #546

I embossed the wood grain onto the white card blank, added 3 "logs",
added a gnome, fussy cut mushrooms, leaf, and teeny butterfly.

A few enamel dots finished the scene.

Gnomes home in the mountains

The Kindest Gnomes have come out to play again.

This one's for the July Rudolph Day Challenge. I should have posted on 25th,

but we do have until the end of the month,

and I've only just made the card, hey ho (or should it be ho ho ho).

It's also for the Snippets Playground Challenge #433

Using the Storybook Gnomes paper, I die cut the gnomes, and fussy cut the mountains.

I used lots of snippets, including scrap strips to make my own "foam pads",
uses up your scraps, plus if you run out the proper pads, make your own :)
I also use any snippets of paper that can be used to decoupage pieces, like the window.

So I raised up the mountain paper, and then the figures, adding some stickles for snow.
I was left with the snippet of paper that I'd cut the mountains from, so I tucked it behind.
Another snippet was used, as my first sentiment was wonky....
so rather than bin it, I used it as a second layer to raise it up a bit!

My next one was inspired by Carol Longacre HERE.

I liked how she used paper, of which I have lots, as I know many of us crafters do.
I'm playing along at Christmas Craft Creations where the July theme is patterned paper

as well as the Sisterhood of Crafters where the challenge is fairy or gnomes.

So one layer creates the background, then a coordinating strip, then I used a gnome as my focal point.

I added some teeny snowflakes with crystal effects, you may be able to see my splodge.

I love how you can create lots of designs with these gnomes, I will try not to bore you with them :)

Garden Greenhouse raised beds

A lovely friend let me play with her Garden Greenhouse set,
so I made a card for my beloved friend and partner.....

He built a raised vegetable garden, in our front garden,
and placed his inherited Grandad's greenhouse there too

I used window boxes as the raised beds, and various vegetation

I stamped plants to appear within the greenhouse

I then couldn't decide whether to add a "sun" greeting,
does it balance it or make it too fussy????

I added one inside...

which do you prefer?

I added some "grounding" shading underneath, so it wasn't all floating,
in the hope I didn't ruin it!

Here's the real life version...........unfortunately the shading covers the glass house,
we have lovely views over fields, containing horses, sheep and goats!

Caravan at Christmas in July

I've been away in "Monty" our Motorhome, and always pack my craft bag.
This time I took some christmas stuff,
which is lucky because I can enter some Christmas in July challenges.

I just love these Tree Lot Dies, FREE during sale a bration with a qualifying purchase.

They are soooo cute, see further below for the set

You can play spot the difference with these two cards...

here's the die set...coordinates with Trees for Sale stamp set

.....and a side by side pic.
The background is paper from the FREE Rings of Love DSP,
suits this a TREEt don't you think? haha

It wasn't until I was editing the photos, I noticed how wonky my above right sentiment is!!
It must have been one of those "moved it before dry" moments!

So, I just took another photo with another sentiment stuck over the first!
One of those happy accidents, I prefer it in red!

Challenges entered......
CHNC 604 (craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge)

P.S. COME BACK TOMORROW FOR A SPECIAL POST OF OUR GARDEN!

Home and Garden

One for the man who can do anything...

a great set for those who like gardening or DIY

There are dies that cut the "blades" separately, so you can add a metallic look.
They end up a bit chunkier, but I still like them, and they emboss some detail at the same time.

There's lots of little extras like grass, (used inside), dirt etc.

Papers from

Wanted to show the detail........the bendy rake was fixed after the photo :)
The hooks are adorable, and below I hung a trowel by some twine.

Merry Christmouse

I must be in Christmouse mode, as I shared a Xmas card yesterday :)

This is an old favourite, he’s singing a jolly tune from that lovely music paper.

I have been hoarding saving music paper and thought it was about time I used it.

Coloured him with Blends, paired the black and white snowflake paper

Added some glitter to his hat

Happy Christmas in July

Hope it makes you feel a bit cooler, if it’s hot hot hot where you are?

Kindest Gnomes for the Snippets Playground

I’m submitting my homework for the Snippets Playground Challenge HERE

It’s a Christmas theme this time, so a chance to play with a new set, Kindest Gnomes,

You can also get coordinating dies and papers.

I used snippets of white card, that I coloured with Stampin’ Blends,

His boots and trousers, with lace embossed detail,

Toadstools and grass,

Nose and beard……..

Can you tell the beard is also cut from…….paper towels!
I folded a paper towel on top of a snippet of white card for strength,
and you can really see the detail….if you wet it (wink of Stella here) it bubbles up more.

I used white pen for toadstool highlights (defo need more practice!)
His hat was from a snippet of blue card.

Added a few enamel dots, used one of the lovely papers in the set as background.

This is the first gnome I have ever built, and the first gnome set ever used,
So I think this qualifies for the NBUS challenge too, for never before used stuff HERE
(MyNBUS.blogspot.com)

Don’t forget to visit pixiessnippetsplayground.blogspot.com too HERE

EDITED to add that I’ve just seen the ALLSORTS challenge is Christmas in July too!
