Dance With Me

Yesterday was my sister’s birthday, her daughter in law is a cake maker

As you can see it was a big birthday, but I dare not tell you how old 😂

This called for a special card…..no pressure!

Actually it was a whole load of pressure, and not without mishaps!

It’s sale a bration at Stampin’ Up!, so I used one of the free stamps,
Dance With Me.
We used to do old time dancing, and she continued, moving on to music and dance fitness.
She is struggling with her husband who has Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Parkinson’s,
So I wanted to make her laugh.
At the final stage, I glued the above image, the wrong way up on the card, 🙄🙄
and after much deliberation decided to use my plan for the inside, on the opposite outside,
ie the back, that became the front. (Any questions? I expect you’ve done it once or twice too!)

So she laughed at the age jokes, then realised what was on the back, which she loved,
and then I put some nice age jokes inside, because I’m nice and I’m only two years younger,
so didn’t want too much comeback 😃

I also made her a money wallet….no idea what to get her, as she has much better taste than me 😁,
but did get her some flowers and a bottle of her favourite tipple.

Hope it’s made you smile, and now I’m dancing off to join these challenges….

Take care and see you soon

  1. Yep - we've all been there, done that Lesley. You are not alone! One small lapse of concentration and all hell breaks loose!

Your fun card turned out great with all the funny age-related stamping, and the relevant dancing image on the back!

Thanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. I've heated you a chocolate croissant in the microwave - come and take a load off. xxx

  2. Oh yes been there, done that, got the T-shirt - I call them Australian cards. Problem is I don't know anyone in Australia 🤣. You did a grand job of rescue though and it's such a fun card - good to make someone smile on their birthday and at other times too.

  6. Fabulous cake there! Imagine wearting that as a hat? LOVE your card Lesley and I too have that 'upside down and backwards award' - several time over. Mind you - what a save and it's so lovely that you make your sister laugh. For fun I send any mishaps like that to Darnell - there's usually at least one Christmas card with a boo-boo in the box here when it comes to writing them!!

  8. First, I'm sorry to hear about your sister's husband and his care. You are a sweet and thoughtful sister to go with your boo-boo and let your pretty dancing card end up making her laugh from the design, as well as the jokes! And, yes, if I had a dollar for every time I put the front panel on upside down or backwards, I'd be ... I'd still be poor, but I'd have a lot of one dollar bills!😂BTW, that cake is spectacular! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Darnell (Ha, I just noticed my name is Di's comment above - and I do the same to her!!)
