Oh Hello

Here's another fab card I got for my birthday,
from my Stampin' Up! 'mummy' Sarah

Embossed with the hexagon, embellished with paper doilies,
lush ribbon, and a cute butterfly adorned with rhinestones.
How I wish I had that stamp set, and ribbon..........
A lovely card from a lovely lady, thanks Sarah!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!

Members of the Stampin' Starlets might remember Sarah's challenge
to design a package for this box of mini eggs!
Well this one's very simple.....
I cut two mini milk cartons from Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP,
(boy, do we need some sunshine!)
cut off the tops, and hey presto!, a box 'n' lid....it's a bit of a squeeze,
because I should have tried to make one of them slightly bigger, but hey ho!

I then decorated it with a pinwheel,
and I'm soooo glad I found a really good tip on how to make one,
really easily, because they are a tad fiddly when small!
And NO I haven't eaten the eggs...yet!

This is from Lesley (lellyjellys.blogspot.co.uk)
It's embossed, spritzed, decoupaged exquisitely, with added pearls, and cute ribbon.
Here's a closer look at that shoe...
An amazing card from an amazing lady!

small gifts

I like to give my class attendees a little extra something,
although I think they are usually very happy with all the projects and goodies they get anyway.
My classes are very good value, even if I say so myself!

I wanted to give them some of the new Melon Mambo ribbon.
(They'd already previously got a matching ink pad and card stock)
I remembered a way of using a punch to make it easier to wrap around a piece of card.

I used a label punch, then punched a half circle, with a circle punch.
This gives a nice groove.

I placed some bakers twine down, wrapping the ribbon over it, and around the card,
then tied the twine in a bow to hold it all in place

Et voila!

get on yer bike!

Hello there!
I hope you are keeping warm wherever you are!
I am now officially fed up with this cold spell.....I neeeed some Spring Sunshine!

For those of you who managed to bag some freebies during Sale-a-Bration,
here's a clever idea I cased from zindorf.blogs
It gives the illusion of movement don't you think?
I used pool party card, embossed with the clouds,
Crumb Cake ribbon, and a couple of brads on the wheels.
I'm hoping the weather will warm up so we can get out on our real bikes!

I'm not square

Hi there!
I was meant to do a card for the PCC challenge 33.....
well, actually I did do one,
but when I was putting it on here I realised I can't....
because it would spoil a surprise!
So, instead I'm showing a very quick and simple card I did
using the spotlight technique...
(at least, I think it is...)
I stamped the gorgeous Swallowtail butterfly,
so that it overlapped the back of the card....
stamped another in a different colour....
punched out some circles, and mounted them on top, matching the pattern.
The challenge was based on a square sketch....
This is definitely not square!

Believe it or not, the base card is Pool Party, and Early Espresso ink,
and the spots are Pool Party embossed onto Early Espresso card.
I think I need photography lessons!

I have added a new badge on the right hand side of the page, because
I have been awarded a Liebster Award - Thank You, Fiona.
You can find her blog at http://oakfieldcrafts.blogspot.co.uk
It is lovely to know that your blog is read by other people and that they enjoy it.
A condition of the award is that you pass it onto five other blogs
who have less than 200 followers that you visit and inspire you.
The point being to encourage others to visit, comment and follow new blogs.

So, here are the five blogs that I love to visit

(can anyone tell me why the type for the top two is so much smaller?!)
(even though it looks the same in draft?!)
I felt I had to add a card to this post,
so here's one I case'd from andreawalford.com
which is great for a male card...

Friend

Here's my entry into the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #76,
that is totally case'd from JKCards, who case'd his from Mary Fish,
and it's also a quick card for a friend who is poorly in Hospital
Confused?!
Basically it's when you have a project that fulfills multiple tasks,
proving we are good at multi-tasking!
Quick and easy because you punch one or more apertures,
layer a pretty paper behind, and add....in this case....
a few sparkly itty bitty butterflies.
Here's a close-up of the silver glimmer paper...
who needs glitter?, when you've got this paper!,
which incidentally you can get FREE with a qualifying order!

Happy Mothers Day!

To all you Mums out there...
Happy Mothers Day!

I'm so lucky to have two Mums!
Mine and Alan's!
Here's what I made them....

Have to make them the same, because we are all lunching together!
Alan's Granddad is also joining us (92 years young)!
And hopefully I might get a hug from my nephew :)
I hope he has done something nice for my Sis, but we won't hold our breath lol....
at least she'll enjoy our lunch together, even if she didn't get breakfast in bed!

So, focusing on one of the 8"x 8" cards...
I used Tea for Two paper, Flower Trim, and a Paper Doily.
I cut a heart using Hearts a Flutter Framelits in Very Vanilla, and a scallop with the 1 1/4" Punch.
I inked the edges of almost everything! with Pretty in Pink ink and a Dauber.
I added 'faux' stitches with Lucky Limeade pen, around the paper squares.
The heart was pierced using the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, plus I pierced free-hand in the little scallops.
One of the Teeny Tiny Sentiments was stamped in Early Espresso, punched with Word Window, and added to a punched Modern Label.
Large Pearl Basic Jewels, and a Designer Builder Brad adds the finishing touch.
Phew!
Seems like a lot of 'stuff', but they're worth it!
Here's a close-up...
Hope you all have a lovely day!

Mothers Day table gifts

I thought I'd show you the table gifts containing mini chocolate eggs I made for both Mums...
see tomorrow's post for much more info!
I used Fancy Favour Bigz die with Daffodil Delight card stock, and Tea for Two papers.
I added card stock 'handles'.
The labels are scallops punched from the same card, and circles of paper on top,
"a gift for you" stamped from the Bring on the Cake set,
buttons tied on with bakers twine.
I cut up some raffia to 'nest' the eggs in...
Do you think they will  like them?!

Fabulous shoes!

One of my lovely friends was kind enough to stamp an image from her new
Fabulous You set
and I finally got around to using it!
It's only £9.95 !
It looks good in one colour, but gives so many more options!
Colour it in, decoupage, glitter it, embellish with....anything!
I simply added one of the old flower brads!
The background is embossed with vintage wallpaper, to add some texture.

Last of the Series! Voting is now open forSummer Silhouettes

This is one of my favourite's cased from stampwithnaomi.com
Love all the layers, Elegant Enchantment papers, matching brad and ribbons.
Not a CAS! (clean and simple)

This one originated from a JKCards challenge...some time ago,
and it's surprised me how it was a favourite of some of my class ladies.
Perhaps it is the colours?
I used Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the black card.
Ok That's it! I Think!
NOW you can vote! lol
Do tell me which is your favourite......
I hope you can see how one stamp set can inspire so many different designs....
so get out those unloved stamps and see what you can come up with!
