So many candles…

 ……so little cake!

A quick sweet fun card using One More Year (SU), for the cake and “bubbles”,

plus an old designer paper that has a very similar design, or so I thought. (Bubbles and Fizz, SU).

I adhered the paper onto card front, then die cut a square peep hole.

Take care and see you soon

Chalk Board Technique

One of my classes recently covered this fun technique
reminiscent of school days.
Ingredients: Black Card, White Craft Ink, Stamps, Pencils.

The 'Thanks' was simply stamped, filled in with a White Chalk Pen,
and coloured in over the top when dry, with coloured pencils.
I love colouring in!

This one was created by getting out lots of greetings,
stamping them in a square shape,
and adding faux stitching to frame it all.
The trend is to make smudges of ink to imitate a chalk board.

This 'easel' card was created by using Crumb Cake card,
stamped with Woodgrain, chomping out the middle bottom
with a punch to create the 'legs'

Stamp and emboss with white powder, and you can then
colour over the embossed parts with alcohol pens.
This was my favourite technique.

Do it in really bright colours, and add matching bunting,
hung with baker's twine.

I'm really sorry I didn't take note of the designer's I cased these from,
but I'm sure you can find them on Pinterest.

This is such a fun technique, for children of all ages!

Here's a close-up of the cheeky backside...

Thinlits Circle

I'm lovin' the Thinlits dies,
as a quick and easy way to make an interesting card.

This flip card was extended, by using a longer piece of card,
that I laid over the die at the far end, so that it wasn't cut by the die.

There's lots of pics around if you don't know what I mean,
.......or ask and I'll point you in the right direction!

Here's the 'flip' side

I used marker pens to colour the cake stamp,
then stamped the sentiment using my faithful stamp-a-ma-jig,
.......that I just couldn't live without!

The stamp-a-ma-jig is the easiest, most effective way
of stamping an image accurately.
It's very reasonably priced too!
Go to my website HERE to check it out....

Alan walks into the village to play darts on most Tuesdays,
and you can almost guarantee it rains.
I'm not sure why.....
but I find it really funny that it rains most tuesdays!
(Luckily he takes it all in good humour!)

Uncle Walt

Hi there!
I wanted to share this card I made for a fave uncle.
It was quick, simple, and colourful!

He used to be a watchmaker/mender I believe,
so I thought Clockworks was a great stamp set to use.
I started with muted background colours, and progressed to brighter ones.
I finished it off with some paper piercing,
coloured-in sentiment, and some of our new card candy.

So what have you made today?

Happy Birthday Roger!

Couldn't wait to play with my new Stampin' Up! set
Giggles Greetings...
I decoupaged the cheese and candle,
and added lots of cheesy holes with an old punch from my stash.
Lots more Giggles to come....I LOVE IT!
Hope you had a fab birthday Roger!

Edward's Birthday

Happy Birthday Edward
Hope you liked my simple card....
I was time-challenged for this one...so picked Perfect Postage,
and it's cute cake of candles, inked around the edges,
A fave sentiment set, some DSP, job done!

I love that all Stampin' Up! products are colour co- ordinated,
it makes it's so simple to match inks to the papers and card stock...
Hope you are keeping cool?!

Mothers Day table gifts

I thought I'd show you the table gifts containing mini chocolate eggs I made for both Mums...
see tomorrow's post for much more info!
I used Fancy Favour Bigz die with Daffodil Delight card stock, and Tea for Two papers.
I added card stock 'handles'.
The labels are scallops punched from the same card, and circles of paper on top,
"a gift for you" stamped from the Bring on the Cake set,
buttons tied on with bakers twine.
I cut up some raffia to 'nest' the eggs in...
Do you think they will  like them?!

Get on yer bike!

Masculine cards are so much harder aren't they?
This motorbike is sadly retired, but maybe it'll make a comeback.
The background uses the open sea.

The greeting is from bring on the cake, ("not just a year older.....but a year better")
and I punched the holes around the bike with the essentials paper-piercing pack.
