Anyhoooo, my Mum is one day older than my Dad,
so he's her toy-boy teehee,
and here's the card I made him.
You may remember this one I did recently
at Eileen Godwin's workshop,
she is such an inspiration!
I overworked that one when inking and blending,
and I don't have that stamp set,
whereas this one I probably under blended the ink,
but have this time retained the bright centre, so that's good.
There were other things I had to improvise,
such as using some liquid pearls squished on craft mat to make rings,
(I actually really like the texture it added),
and some white dots using my signo pen,
coz I still haven't got any masking fluid.
I added some wink of stella to the 'fob',
it must have splattered a bit, but that's ok.
Some fussy cutting, layering, added a brad,
and I was quite pleased, but would he be?
He said it was really good,
which was praise indeed,
so I think he liked it.
So more satisfying than buying cards, for me anyway.
Happy parents, and made with love.
Hope your day has been good too.
Much love to you all,
and thanks for visiting.

p.s. who will be the first to notice the wonky clock I wonder......
Your Dad's card is fabulous! Love the background with your dots and liquid pearl circles - fabulous! xxx
ReplyDeleteActually I liked the look of both the versions of this nifty masculine card, but I do see what you mean about the inner brighter look. Brilliant idea using the squished liquid pearls for your circles..wouldn't have thought to do that. Also liked your idea of the brad for the clock hands. Most clever. Great colors - very cheery, and I'm so pleased your Dad recognized how wonderful his special card is! Both your cards for your parents are wonderful. TFS
ReplyDeleteI love BOTH cards . . . really cool masculine ones. xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat cards. Love the one with the wonky clock (which most of us wouldn't have noticed), great bright colors and I love the touch of glittery happiness.
ReplyDeleteReally great male cards Lesley. xxx
