Sketches with Snowy and Hedgy

I’m back with some more Christmas cards…..

there were some challenges I liked the look of,

and it was a chance to get some of my old wooden Penny Black stamps out.

Penny Black Saturday challenge is for pastels or anything goes.(AG)

Christmas Kickstart #109 wants “brimming with style” ,

Jingle Bells “vintage” (my vintage stamps)

so out came snowy and Hedgy……Snowy has his hat on.

For a long time I’ve wanted to try some sketches that I’ve admired from Jules, Always with a heart.
I expect it will get easier with practice, I’m not sure I have anywhere near Jules talent!
(She even stitches hers together, and they are so pretty)
It was nice to have a plan though, rather than just adhere the image to a plain background.
(Sketch 24)
I used retired SU papers, and an old hunkydory sentiment, coloured with blend pens.
I did flip the sketches from portrait to landscape, to fit with my images.

Next up, the same stamp with some more old SU papers and an old SU card blank.

I did faux stitching with a fine tip pen.

(Sketch 22) (again flipped to landscape)

ABC Christmas challenge has ‘H’ for Hats, ‘I’ for image only

Peace on Earth #109 has a mood board, I focused on the red scarf.

I used lots of snippets of papers and white card scraps, so I’ll also visit the

Snippets Playground #530 !

I have a few more wooden stamps, all with hats, so watch this space 😂

Thanks for taking the time to visit, and I really appreciate your comments

Take care and see you soon

Lesley

  1. Great work with Snowy and Hedgy used alongside the various sketches from Jules. They are so handy and I too am in awe of her machine stitching of all the layers - she is so neat. Certainly a few lovely cards to add to your Christmas collection.

  3. Two lovely cards with that adorable image. I struggle with sketches too, well out of my challenge comfort zone — well done there!

  6. What delightful cards Lesley and some great faux stitching too! A good reminder of the many wood mounted Penny Black Christmas stamps I have. Did you know that PB have even fairly recently brought out some matching dies for their much loves wooden stamps? Snowy is one, the Snow Family is another and I have at lease one Christmas hedgie matching die. So WHY do I sit here lost for inspiration then? Eeek.
