Magic Slider

Morning!

Here's what I'm sharing today

I did this at a recent gathering,
and it's a bit of a challenge, I can tell you!

 It's a pocket.....

pull out the slider....

and the stamped picture goes from black n white to colour
See, it's MAGIC!

Well, it's not magic really, just clever.....
and don't ask me 'how'
it's hard enufff to explain in person!
(for me anyways!)

Have a MAGIC weekend!

February Rudolph Day

Hello again
thanks for dropping by.

Today is 25th of the month
and that means Rudolph Day Challenge,
which in turn means making more christmas cards!

Here's my attempts with a stamp set and die
that I won at the Snippets Playground
(I shall go and play on the swings while the hound is asleep!)
This poor snowman had an argument with his hat!

This one had an argument with his arms!

This one is better......
well, my excuse is that I was trying to incorporate the inlaid dies technique
at the same time.........not a good idea with all his 'bits'!

Perhaps I can pretend children made them?!

Sort of got the hang of it in the end,
and if nothing else I know he'll make you smile!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Snippets Playground

Happy Monday!
Hope you all had a splendid weekend,
and that your week will be full of things you like to do.

I've been trying to make cards in every spare minute,
and here's one that's used lots of snippets,
so I'll hop over to the Snippets Playground later......
as long as the guard dog lets me in of course!

I embossed a snippet of red card
with a folder I won at the Playground,
cut it to approx 1/3rd and mounted on foam pads,
but before I stuck it down,
I stamped three trees from white snippets
and stuck them top and bottom,
to hold the red together.
Snippets of glimmer paper for stars,
snippets of gems, and some gold wink of luna,
and there you have it!

See ya later!

Fab Friday 58

Decided to enter a couple of challenges,
whilst making some.......shhhh xmas cards....

Here's a sketch from Fab Friday Challenge

I'm hoping it doesn't have to be a circle, and that my tree is ok?
---------------

Then the 52 Christmas Card challenge had this theme

---------------

and The Male Room challenge is
to create your own background paper
so I'm hoping this is masculine enough too!

Phew!

It definitely has sequins and pearls!
which I used glitter glue to adhere, as the glue always oozes out
(some pearls on the tree are hard to see,
and the snowflake atop the tree is a sequin isn't it?)

I did create the background,
using a lovely sentiment set I won at the Snippets Playground.
I stuck 'em all on my clear block, then stamped a couple of times
to cover my card blank.
Added some stars randomlike too!

I also dry embossed the red card with part of my win too,
does that count as creating your own background?

Anyhow, it's all a bit of fun,
and I'm hoping I'll get the hang of the rooooools the more I 'play'!

Gotta dash off to enter now..........
hope you are having a relaxing Sunday....

Hidden Happy

I love this technique.
Camouflage.
Sarn showed us a simple but stunning stamped one recently,
and suggested I try it with paper, which I did here

This was for a nephew growing up fast.
Great masculine card, few candy dots to add interest.

Happy Friday

Inlaid dies

I tried experimenting with the Inlaid Die Technique

The idea is to have a flat card by laying or piecing back in altered die cuts,
that have been stamped, or in this case patterned paper ones

Thursday Thanks

Merry & Bright

It's not often I post this often on my blog.
It will all change when I can get out in the garden I suspect.

I have had a very productive day however,
and so there's just enough time for me to enter another challenge eeek!

My beloved decorated our lounge,
so I spent today cleaning the house, and all the nik naks,
and the windows, pictures, doing the washing,
loading the bread machine......
gosh I might need a lie down later!

Don't worry....domestic goddess I am NOT,
it's just that the sun was shining, and spurred me on!

Anyhoo, back to the job in hand....
colour challenge of white, silver and grey...

I just had to use one of my new Sarntangles

Stamped in grey, added a shadow all round
with the grey of the pencils my beloved bought me for christmas,
added some clear wink of stella (you might have to trust me on that one),
the greeting is in grey too, from Stampin' Up!'s Good Greetings,
and the stars are from their brushed silver card,
and one of their itty bitty star punches fits the image EXACTLY!

I thought this would be a good one for the guys,
simple and not too blingy!

Sorry about the poor pic....photography not my strong point,
in fact, almost as good as my housekeeping!
Well, there's always crafting to do isn't there!

Blackberry Bliss

Daubed this butterfly with ink,
inked the flowers too,
doily background

It was a plain white butterfly...

Blackberry Bliss and Melon Mambo
a Tuesday Treat

Lots of snippets used here, ribbon, flowers, card,
so I'll probably hop over to the
Snippets Playground to see whats up!

Happy Valentine

Hello everyone
thanks for stopping by!

I wanted to join in some challenges,
make a card, and play with a new stamp....
Here's what I came up with

I used the colours from Less is More challenge
to use
PINK AND GREY

and the Valentine theme from the Male Room

            Challenge #03- Valentine

I also used a Sarntangle which can be found HERE
it fitted my Hello Life stamp from Stampin' Up! perfectly!

Now all I have to do is hop over to them all and do my entries,
and linky things...........perhaps if I did more it would get easier?!

Have a great day
AND
I hope you get really really spoiled tomorrow!

(by yourself if necessary!)

Painted Blooms and Beautiful Wings

Carrying on from yesterday,
another snippet from a pal,
using a snippet more of that lovely designer series paper

this time, with some of those embosslit butterflies using more snippets
(who doesn't love a butterfly?)
and that sentiment again...
fits my curvy line a treat.
Can you see where my stamping wasn't perfect?!
Butterflies always come in handy for covering mistakes!

Painted Blooms

A friend kindly sent some 'bits to play with'
a while ago, and as I recently got some of this lovely DSP,
decided to try them out.

The butterfly had a heart shape in the middle,
so I used the Owl Builder Punch to punch a heart from the paper.

I cut a wavy line to follow the flower heads,
then discovered a sentiment from For The Birds fitted a treat!

I used a snippet of paper for the tag too,
so feel I should pop over to Pixie's Snippets Playground....

lots of thanks

I wanted to make some thankyou's for my customers,
showing off the Lotus Blossom Stamp Set
some of them got for FREE
by ordering £45 of product.

It was fun to try out different colours,
and by chance I found some mini envelopes in a drawer,
and decided to make these 3" x 3" cards,
adding some twine and vellum

This one I pierced a frame.....
something I don't do often enough.

Here's a close-up in case it helps anyone having trouble
lining up the 3 images.
It did take a bit of practice!

Lots of snippets used here, so you know what that means,
I'm off to the Snippets Playground later.......

stand by your bowls.....

......your washing up bowls!

WHY?

Because you need to get out your stencils and modeling paste,
that's why!

Now, my spell check thingy says I spelt modeling wrong,
but that's what it says on MY pot!

Anyhoo.....mine's white, and I didn't want white.

so, I got out some mica powders, lurking in a corner
of my craft room, saying "use me, use me"!
It does take a fair bit of powder....
and I'm a bit mean frugal, so left mine a nice soft blue.

Then I thought.......wonder what if...
I chucked sprinkled some brusho paints on top
whilst the paste is wet?

so, this is what happened....
I had to spritz it with water, but then.....
I likeeeee

I also tried, once the paste had dried........
to sprinkle even more paint on and spritz with water...
with the stencil back in place....
(photographically challenged, as this is the same blue background)

Then I needed some bling.....
one was for a friend who HAS to have bling.
Here I added more mica, to make a darker pink.
Did I mention I added the mica to the paste in a spare pot?
I also added some matching glitter, thinking I could make my own sparkly paste,
but no.
Not sparkly enough,
so I chucked  sprinkled some more on top.

Got some big splodges though.....sad face.

Then, after all that, I read the jar,
and realised I could have just applied it in white,
and add paint etc. after it's dried,
but as you can see, I had lots of fun.

However, I then had no idea what to do with the
'art work' (?!)

I wanted to add this sentiment...
from Sheltering Tree
'friendship is a sheltering tree'

I'd spent so much time 'playing', that I ran out of time,
even though I thought my mount was boring,
I'm swapping them as they are,
in the hope they'll come up with some arty idea!

( Love the pink on Blackberry Bliss)

Hope your week is going well

Butterfly Basics

Warning!
You may need your sunglasses for this one!

I found this lovely paper,
and decided to make some butterflies to match.

It does look a bit errrrr loud?!
It's one of those...looks better in real life....honest!

It was such a dull day, I experimented with the camera,
however, there was no improvement as you can see!

Amazing how the colours look different though eh?

Hope this has brightened your day!

Hey,Valentine

I was telling you the other day how adaptable Hey,Valentine is.
Here's how I did one for a great nephew.......

I stamped it and cut a circle,
then did the same with single fish and smaller circles,
to create more bubbles.

I coloured in the fish, and decoupaged some.
I also added extra 'bubbles' using the 'snow' from White Christmas

I then took a blank puzzle that a friend had given me,
stamped and inked it, then glazed over the top.

Sorry for the poor photography!

I used snippets of card for the circles and fishes,
so I'm taking this to see if Pixie's Snippets Playground is open
