Butterfly Basics

I think it should be renamed Butterfly Bounty,
as this popular set is packed full of lovely stamps,
that can be used together or alone.

This lovely project was a make n take from Liz,
I love all the layering with just stamps,
and a tag topper is always a hit,
hope you agree.

Have a wonderful week

Butterfly Basics

Hello Honey.
That's the colour of these two cards made at a recent training day,
along with Basic Grey and Very Vanilla.
It made a nice change to go vanilla,
I've used a lot of Whisper White lately.

Sorry the picture's not the best,
but I'm not at my best at the mo!

Have a great week

Butterfly Blues

Hello
and
Happy Birthday
to a lovely lady today.

I don't often get chance to post ON the day,
but here's one made with the FREE (oops, shouldn't have told her that!) vellum I got,
that's absolutely gorgeous!

Her favourite colour too,
all lovingly coloured in on the back,
and I coloured one in and fussy cut to lay on top.

Hope she had a fab sparkly day!

Wonderful Wednesday Wishes

Workshop Wonder

Hello everyone,
and a VERY special Hello to my new followers,
thank you for your support!

I was a very lucky birthday girl recently,
and was able to attend one of Eileen Godwin's Workshops.

A great big thanks Eileen for the inspiration for my
swaps for team training recently!

Can you tell what it is yet?!

Here's a pile of 'em

One of the tags inspired by Eileen

A closer view

Just to show the scale.....errrrr not very big!

I made tags because there was a lot of us in the swap.
(probably took me longer than if I'd done a card!)

Took some watercolour paper,
a jar from About The Label, stamped and embossed,
butterflies from Perpetual Birthday Calendar, also embossed,
then watercoloured the jar with inks,
tied some twine around it's neck, added a label,
then Butterfly Basics provided the larger butterfly with a Rhinestone.
Mounted on two punched tags....Scalloped Tag Topper, and Note Tag.

I will show you the delights from Eileen's workshop another day.

I hope you have a fab week,
and hopefully lots of crafty time.

Butterfly Basics

I've had a challenging fortnight, including my birthday,
Mother's Day,
Alan badly cutting a wrist, and a rotten cold,
so I've lots of blogging to catch up on......

For my Team celebration, I supplied some makes to go with their gifts

Here's one shamelessly cased from Vanessawebb, net
which I adored making, and stroking!

We used Irresistibly Yours DSP inked with Coastal Cabana Ink,
stamped over using Butterfly Basics, and edged with silver embossing powder.
The next layer used the stencil from the Artisan Embellishment Kit,
silver ink and again edged with silver EP.
Topped with two butterflies, the smaller again in silver EP,
all topped off with a silver button.

Here's what some of them came up with.
Clever girls!

Here's what we used:

Butterfly Basics inlaid

I had an inlaid die technique theme at my last class,
and here's a relatively simple card we made.

We stamped the Butterfly and die cut it, put it aside.
Then stamped the ferns, a few times without reinking.
Stamped the sentiment, and added back the butterfly.

We added an itty bitty butterfly on top too.
This makes a nice flat card for posting.

Here's what we used

I can't share it with you yet....it's a surprise...

Butterfly Basics

Warning!
You may need your sunglasses for this one!

I found this lovely paper,
and decided to make some butterflies to match.

It does look a bit errrrr loud?!
It's one of those...looks better in real life....honest!

It was such a dull day, I experimented with the camera,
however, there was no improvement as you can see!

Amazing how the colours look different though eh?

Hope this has brightened your day!

Sister

I wanted to make a special card for my Sister,
so thought I'd do another card-in-a-box.

The paper was from last year,
using pistachio pudding, cisp canteloupe, pool party colours mainly.

I added the flowers and butterflies to acetate so they 'sway'
I'm disappointed it doesn't photograph too well,
but I hope she liked it.

I used the Note Tag Punch to add the sentiment on the back,
and attached it to a butterfly wing, so that it folds back to write on.

Such pretty paper.

Hope your Sunday is Special

Bow tie

Here's the Bow Punch again!
One for the men,
this was a prototype for one of my classes.
I always try out the designs so I can help avoid pitfalls on the day.

I think this was another idea from Pinterest.
I liked the paper, which worked well for the sentiment too,
but I didn't like my first 'collar', hence a double crease mark.
I 'googled' bow ties, and couldn't believe how many different styles and types there are!
The sentiment is from Butterfly Basics.

Happy Friday!

Motorbiking Stampin' Up! style

I hope you are keeping warm and dry.

It's very wet around here,
but luckily my little abode is quite high up.
I feel so, for those who worry every time it rains.

I enjoy feeding and watching the garden birds,
but I have some pesky little squirrels causing havoc at the moment.
They seem to be busy storing food for the cold,
and not satisfied with taking some seed,
one of them actually removed one feeder from it's hook,
and set about getting the lid open.
Cheek!

Anyway, I'm sure you're visiting to see another card,
so today it's an old fave for a biker fan.
I don't think I will ever part with this detailed stamp.

As you can see (sorry for dodgy photographic skills)
I stamped it three times without re-inking.

I did another brushed ink background,
and used Butterfly Basics border stamp top and bottom.
I coloured a bit of the bike with my new blender pens,
and added a simple greeting.

Happy Friday wherever you are!

Butterfly Basics

I am LOVING this Butterfly Basics set.
It is perfect for the layering collage effect.

Out came my recently acquired NBUS
{Never Before Used Stuff}
(see below)
in the form of these big brushes.

They can give an air brushed look,
that's a lot easier than with a brayer.

Here's the card using Bermuda Bay,
Tempting Turquoise and Rose Red Inks,
then Memento Black for the fern.

After masking, brushing, stamping etc!,
I used a fine black pen to make a squiggly line to outline the panel.

A 'squiggly' line means you don't have to worry about doing a straight line!

Don't forget that any inky attempts that don't go quite right,
can be used to stamp on and punch out!

It is also fab for stamping a sentiment on the outside,
and a coordinating one inside,
not forgetting the envelope too!
Phew!

The stamp set is new,
but this is the first time I've used my brushes,
and so will enter Darnell's challenge:

Do pop over and visit her page,
it is VERY funny!

Big butterfly thanks

I hope I'm not boring you.....
when I get new toys, I tend to do lots with them while they're on my desk,
then put them away to be forgotten!

There's always exceptions though!

This is the biggest butterfly from the Thinlits set,
and I chopped of it's wing tips to make it fit!
(No butterflies were harmed in making this card)

I then 'infilled' some of the word,
with left overs from another die cut.

Oh dear, that means I'm off to the Snippets Playground again!
It's no wonder I get nothing done.....
too much time spent playing on the swings!

Butterflies upon butterflies

A little thank you card to share.
You can see I've been 'playing'!

I die cut first,
then stamped over with the little accent butterflies,
(you might have to zoom in for that!),
then inked around edges, and over the word,
to make it pop more.

More snippets, so may hop over to the snippets playground again!

I still don't like Mondays,
but hopefully this will cheer your day :)
