Butterflies over the edge

This make n take was brought by Ros Maggs recently.

Loved using the Papillon Potpourri Butterflies again.

we snipped off the edge of the card front,

and added punched butterflies.....I should have pictured it closed as well.

The strange thing was........Ros and I had the same idea.....

.....and Ros and Liz used the same stamp sets and punch....

We don't think that has ever happened before,

we normally all pick different things.....

isn't there a name for when the planets align.....??!!

It had been a while since playing with Flower Shop and Papillon Potpourri,

so I was pleased that Liz brought this make n take recently.

There are 3 panels stamped with different features,

and some punched black butterflies and rhinestones for dimension and dazzle

Sister

I wanted to make a special card for my Sister,

so thought I'd do another card-in-a-box.

The paper was from last year,

using pistachio pudding, cisp canteloupe, pool party colours mainly.

I added the flowers and butterflies to acetate so they 'sway'

I'm disappointed it doesn't photograph too well,

but I hope she liked it.

I used the Note Tag Punch to add the sentiment on the back,

and attached it to a butterfly wing, so that it folds back to write on. 

Such pretty paper.

Wow this even looks bright in the pic!

Card-in-a-Box bashful blue

I thought I'd share some of my classes projects

from our recent card-in-a-box workshop.

We used The Flower Shop, Petite Petals, and Papillon Potpourri stamp sets

Six sided Sampler from Stampin' Up!

Here's one I cased from Juliesstampintime.com
I liked this one so much when I saw it,
I had to rush off and make it immediately!
Does that ever happen to you?!

It really doesn't show how pretty it is in the photo.
(I know we always say that, but it's true!)

I used Crumb Cake card, which is similar to kraft card.
I stamped and punched the hexagons in Marina Mist and Melon Mambo.
The butterfly was stamped with white craft ink,
but it didn't show very well,
so I went over it with my white gel pen.
Some rhinestones add a bit of sparkle.

Stampin' Up! Splodge-tastic

I was floundering for a friends card,

and then saw one on www.Pootles.co.uk,

so here's my version.....

I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge ink splat in three colours,

Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding,

(don't they sound just yummy?!)

added the stamped butterflies from Papillon Potpourri,

the sentiment and a few Rhinestones

Sampler patchwork

How's it going?!

Hoping to give you some more inspiration this week.......

Here's using the Six-sided Sampler, and only two colours, nice and simple

I think I cased this from Pinterest, so do let me know if it's your idea!

Here's what I made for two special girls...

I like this layout from Julie Kettlewell so much

I've used it a few times now, 

in different colourways.

The butterflies are stamped again and decoupaged on top

to add dimension.

Another great way of using some of those papers you have stashed away!

The background was stamped in the same colour as the card,

you can also use versamark for a similar watermark effect.

A butterfly was stamped. punched and added.

Again, you can make it flat for posting, or bling it up for delivery by hand.

Elegant Butterfly

Following on from yesterday,

here's one stamped with the stamp-a-ma-jig,

then overlaying more stamped images that have been punched.

All these cards can be made flat for postage, or blinged up for hand delivery!

Here's one I did for my sis-in-law

I added Rhinestones, altho they don't show up!

Notelets

This one was a simple scribbling technique,

which feels a bit mad at first!

I think it's very effective though.

Scribble 3 different colours with marker pens,

then stamp a simple image over the top.

Stationery Holder

Here's a fun project I did at class recently.

It's a Stationary Holder that I cased from Kimberley Morris.

It's simple made from card stock 11" x 8 1/4",

scored at 5 1/2", turn score at 6 1/2" to make the 'pockets'.

The belt was made from Designer Series Paper 1 1/2" x 11".

I covered it in paper 5" x 6".

Then stamped script background, die cut a butterfly, inked around the edges,

and topped it with another butterfly that was stamped on the same paper as the belt.

Team Day

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend,

in spite of the cold weather!

We had a lovely lunch out with Alan's parents,

and his Brother and sister-in-law, yesterday,

and Saturday I had a fab day at Sarah's 

with our lovely Starlets team.

We were thoroughly spoilt with projects, swaps, samples,

that we all contributed to, and even little gifts,

as well as lots of tea and biscuits of course!

Here's a pic of some of my swaps:  

I've been getting very inky fingers, experimenting with the 'baby wipe' technique!

I inked the background square using a wipe shaped into a 'mushroom',

adding drops of Stampin' Up! refill inks,

which I then just dabbed onto an A4 sheet of white gloss card randomly!

I then made an ink pad again using a wipe, folded this time, adding droplets of ink.

I used this to stamp loads of butterflies onto gloss card, and punched them out.

I mounted the butterflies onto plain card stock, by punching out more butterflies,

cutting them in half horizontally, and adhering them slightly spread apart.

I punched some itty butterflies from the remnants of my 'background'.

I used my home made ink pad to stamp loads of 'spares',

but it will keep for a good while in an airtight container.

Colours used...mainly, Marina Mist, Melon Mambo, with Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper.

Team Challenge

Here's another in-team challenge.

This week's layout did not inspire me at all, BUT I actually liked how it turned out.

Just goes to show there's no telling how a project will end up,

and how often it's not what you had in mind at all!

The challenge is one found on JKCards.wordpress.com, and it's actually originally a

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge (#24)......bit of a mouthful!

This one's on confetti white card (similar to neutrals), using Everyday Enchantment DSP.

Stamp sets: Summer Silhouettes, Papillon Potpourri, For my Family.

For Sharon

This was a LITTLE more simple (not a lot!)

Summer Silhouettes again (can you tell yet, it's one of my faves?!)

And the OH SO GORGEOUS NEW ELEGANT BUTTERFLY Punch...

(I'm sorry, but you just HAVE to get this one!),

stamped with Papillon Potpourri (OH SO GORGEOUS TOO!),

and covered in dazzling diamonds by using the clever heat and stick powder first.

The little flower decoupaged using Daffodil Delight Ink,

and some Crochet Trim.
