faux watercolour

Continuing my dogged determination to force my classmates
to get inky and arty with free brush strokes  and watercolour abandon,
I gave up, and decided to change tack slightly and do a faux
watercolour technique.

Needless to say they were much happier with this one !
we took the brush strokes from Playful Backgrounds
(any brush strokes would do)
stamp , turn upside down and second generation stamp

Stamp the sentiment over the top,
stamp and punch some pretty petite petals, and add some rhinestones.

So it wasn't a complete watercolour washout, I had fun,
and I think they did too ?!?
They all booked for the next class anyway!
Do join us for some crafty fun, we always have a laugh,
and endeavour to learn something new too,
so just ask if you'd like more details.

Sweet Treat

Sweet Treat....for me!
Such a thoughtful and unexpected gift,

don't you just love the tag?!
and she's not been crafting long at all!
love the teensie weensie dots she added in the flowers.

Inside some yummy scrummy liscious
Tropical Chocolate Shards,
containing chocolate, chocolate, (dark & milk),
raisins, macadamia nuts, coconut, dried mango,
honey, butter and rum!

Sadly him indoors doesn't like dark chocolate,
so had to eat it all myself!
The sacrifices I make.....!!!

Have a good weekend

Berry Basket

Happy Friday everyone.
it's the weekend!!!!!

Thought I'd share some makes with the
fabulous Berry Basket Die:

First up, a blackberry bliss with doilies and the bow builder punch
(I'm lovin' my stapler!)

Then, I'm sure you'll find the original, and better, examples of these cute cards
on Pinterest coz my notes have gone missing...oops
(please claim credit if it's you)

Left has a seed packet tucked in,
Right holds a basket full of blooms,
on a tag that pulls out

I love interactive cards,
and the seed packet is a gift in a card too!

Have a fantabulous weekend peeps!

Petite Petals

I had some birthdays cards to make
just before Christmas.
and luckily spotted this design on Pinterest.

It may have been one of Julie Kettlewell's

I die cut the shape, mounted it on foam pads to lift it from the base,
and added a few flowers and gems.

Class act

Happy weekend everyone,
thanks for stopping by.

I thought I'd show what we did in a recent class
with coordinating projects
in Coastal Cabana

A box of tags courtesy of Pootles
using the scallop tag topper punch,
petite petals, and sentiment from a current free set

Then our new Curvy Keepsake box die,
with one of it's tags cut from glimmer paper

Plus the card you may have seen on the previous post.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the tiffany style projects.

I also shared some of the same projects at a workshop,
and here's some more examples of the different styles.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
and I hope to be back soon.....
lots to share!

August Happy Post

Wisteria Wonder loveliness from Liz this month:

The background is embossed with polka dots,
I forget (sorry!) which flower spray stamp, white embossed,
and covered in petite petal flowers,
a couple of butterflies, bakers twine,
and some cute clay hand made flowers bottom right.
Must have taken her ages to make this one!
Thanks Liz!

Itty Bitties

Sorry, but here's another one!

One of my favourite cartoons is Garfield,
so I do hope you are not muttering
"Monday' s coming, abort, abort" !!!
This time different flowers, including some new ones.....
can you see the little green ones?
Pictogram Punches stamp set, and a new Itty Bitty Punch!

Just to prove it's different.....
Above is the one I made earlier.

To prevent you nodding off with boredom,
I do have one more, so I'll show you it now.....

I hope you had a fab weekend,
and have lots of fun this week!

Cute box

Here's a cute box made by Jan from some speciality paper

The embellishment is a Petite Petals flower punched and shaped.

And inside.....

The cutest little wooden ornament that she stamped with a sentiment,
heat embossed with sparkly powder,
and adorned with some more Petite Petals.

Card-in-a-Box

I hope you have enjoyed the projects over the last few days.

Here's the prototype I made to inspire them

You would be most welcome to any of my classes.
They are good fun, very informal, no experience necessary,
all materials provided, booking essential.
We cover a wide range of projects and techniques.
Contact me if you have any questions

Meantime,

Petite Petals and Banner Blast

This was a swap from Liz.
Love the cool soft hues, and embossed background.
The Petite Petal punch has been so popular it keeps going out of stock!
Those Banners are so versatile too.
I'll be back soon with more

Stampin' Up! wall hanging decoration

At a recent class, we made an inspirational wall hanging...
a home decoration that was inspired by Jan.
Are you ready for a little neck exercise?!

The hanging loop is on the right :)

Here's some of my clever playmates works-in-progress...

So talented, and so different, even though they had the same materials!

Most were finished when they got home,
and some went on to make even more!

We do more than just cards at my classes,
so if you fancy joining us for some fun and crafty therapy,
book your place on the next one!

Stampin' Up! Diamond Anniversary

I was asked to make a diamond anniversary card
for a friend's husband
EEEEEEK!
What a responsibility!!!!
Luckily Julie Kettlewell had blogged a card that I could 'case'.
So, I dry-embossed some of our silver card
(a nice soft quality silver).
Stamped and heat-embossed the greetings,
and a few flowers.....
well why shouldn't men have flowers too?!

I added some die-cut glimmer paper
(really blingy, hence a second photo in a vain attempt
to show you how blingy),
some lush white ribbon, and some rhinestones.

Oh, and I added some heat & stick powder and dazzling diamonds
to the flowers...
So, all silver and diamonds, as requested....
I just hope they liked it,
but more importantly I hope they enjoyed a 'Diamond' Anniversary!

February Rudolf Day

Rudolf day again!
I wanted to join Sarn's challenge HERE
Where we make christmas cards on 25th of each month!

I've been wanting to make a wreath from Stampin' Up! Petite Petals,
so this was my first attempt, using sizzlits little leaves...

But my friend who does flower arranging suggested I do the leaves first,
with fewer flowers, so I had another go....

This time I used the Bird Punch for the leaves,
and I stamped some extra Petite Petals, which I then punched with the Itty Bitty,
so they look like smaller versions.
I happened to have a ribbon bow in a pot of snippets....
I also made this into a square card for a change.

Here's both together....

Did you notice the underlining of the sentiment?
I got a 'shadow' ie caught an edge of the rubber with ink when I stamped it,
and made a mark, so attempted a disguise!

Happy Days

This was fun and simple to do,
and quite pretty, I hope you'll agree?

I masked off the center panel, and stamped some flowers,
embossed the panel edges on my scoreboard,
stamped the greeting using my stamp-a-ma-jig,
(if you haven't got one you NEED one!
it helps you position stamps accurately and easily),
then added some stamped punched flowers, ribbon and rhinestones.

Flower Shop Secret message

I'm not sure I will ever tire of this stamp set.

I wanted to try a technique showcased by Lelly Jelly's Stamp 'n' Scrap,
but in spite of 'googling' various key words,
I failed to find any instructions, so I just did my best.

If anyone knows of a tutorial, please do share!

I'm pleased how the name shows up in the picture,
it seemed more subtle in real life!

I added some flowers with Petite Petals,
and some silver glimmer paper in the centres,
Melon Mambo ribbon finishes it off.

I hope this cheers you up with all the wind and rain we had today.

Edited to add:   I found it!.......Check out Kirsteen's Two-Tier Eclipse Technique  HERE

A Pine pair....

Yes, I know what you're thinking!
Christmas?!
I wanted to enter Sarn's Rudolf Day Challenge
Which is all about making Christmas cards
on the 25th of each month,
and getting ahead of the game..
I simply embossed and die cut a top layer,
tied some twine around it, then sticking it over a stamped image.
The right hand one has a stamped layered flower from the
NEW Petite Petals,
and the twine is NEW too, with gold thread running through!
I also added some gold glitter to the trees,
none of which shows up in the pic sigh!
