Butterflies in Black and White

It had been a while since playing with Flower Shop and Papillon Potpourri,
so I was pleased that Liz brought this make n take recently.

There are 3 panels stamped with different features,
and some punched black butterflies and rhinestones for dimension and dazzle

On Stage Swaps for Telford

Hello, thanks for stopping by.
Today is going to be really exciting,
as it's Stampin' Up! OnStage.
Conventions are held worldwide for demonstrators
to learn about new products, training and to meet each other.
Traditionally we a make swaps,
small cards or 3-d items to share ideas with each other.

I wanted to combine mine with Parkinson's awareness month,
so I bought some of their paper bags and cornflower seed favours.

I made some 3" square gift cards,
with a little pocket to hold the seeds.

I used Flower Shop and Timeless Texture to decorate,
adding Iridescent Ice embossing powder,
and some silver thread to echo the flower design.

There's an explanation on the back of the seeds

work in progress....

Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point colours
went well with the Parkinson's merchandise.

My Dad and Cousin suffer from this awful disease,
so it was nice to do something positive to raise awareness,
as more research is needed to find a cure.

Hopefully I will have lots of swaps in return to show you too!

Have a great weekend

Fresh Flower Shop

Jan brought us this simply elegant card to make.
The card front has been cut diagonally to add interest,
then an embossed triangle layered on top.

She supplied an avalanche of coloured vellum petals,
which was very difficult to choose from!
I went for the new Mint Macaron,
and added rhinestones in their centres.

We also made a matching envelope with the new envelope paper from
Stampin' Up!

I hope you like this Midweek Minty Macaroni Magic!

Makes n Takes

Team makes

Jan is into the faux tile technique,
and here's what she shared.
She'd kindly prepped a lot of it,
so it was easy to put together.
Shame you can't see the trademark glitter,
Jan HAS to have glitter!
Don't you just love that swirl

Liz's was good enough to eat.
It was good to get reacquainted with the cupcake builder punch
and matching stamp set, and that cute DSP.
I just love how everything coordinates so easily with Stampin' Up!

Wishing you a peaceful Sunday

Happy Flower Patch

Background is Corner Garden,
stamped flowers and die cut,
then over stamped and daubed the edges with the same ink colour

Leaves similarly stamped and die cut,
then over stamped a couple of times with the same colour ink

I'd stamped corner garden onto coloured card,
but didn't like the effect, so  used this to punch some little flowers.
I also die cut the sentiment with another flower shape.

I experimented a bit with this one,
but ended up liking the subtle effect of using the same
colour ink to create depth and shadow.

Stampin' Up! Scallop tag Topper Punch card

Hi everyone!
I hope your week is going well.

I took this pic when the sun was shining brightly,
hence the shadows.

I found directions for a similar card on pinterest.
The idea is you use the punch by inserting the card
into it without cutting to size, and bypassing the channel.

I found this left a raggedy edge,
so I tried it a different way.
I cut a section off either side of where I wanted the punched closure,
leaving a small tab, which I then punched.

(I think I need to show you in pictures?!)

I then cut panels of whisper white card.
The top one I used the vellum flowers I didn't use on
the Corner Garden card (are you keeping up?! lol).
The inside panel was stamped with
World of Dreams, stamping the image 3 times
to get the shadows.

A bit of Blackberry Bliss ribbon to tie.

Lots of snippets, especially the vellum, and ribbon,
means I'm popping over to the snippets playground.

Enjoy the rest of your week

Corner Garden meets Flower Shop

Prepare to feast your eyes!
This is an easily missed single stamp from Stampin' Up!

I heat embossed with white powder onto pool party card stock.

I then stamped and heat embossed with pool party powder onto vellum.
I added a lush ribbon and rhinestones.

Here's a different layout but same products and techniques.
I shaped the flowers with a dry embossing ball tool.

This is one of those moments when you think yeah I like!
(well I hope you'll agree?!)

Let me know if you preferred landsape or portrait?!

Be sure to drop by again soon.
because I have a lot to show you!

Have a fab weekend

Itty Bitties

Sorry, but here's another one!

One of my favourite cartoons is Garfield,
so I do hope you are not muttering
"Monday' s coming, abort, abort" !!!
This time different flowers, including some new ones.....
can you see the little green ones?
Pictogram Punches stamp set, and a new Itty Bitty Punch!

Just to prove it's different.....
Above is the one I made earlier.

To prevent you nodding off with boredom,
I do have one more, so I'll show you it now.....

I hope you had a fab weekend,
and have lots of fun this week!

Flower Shop swap

Hiya
hope your weekend has gone well.
We had a lovely bike ride in the rain.....
and arrived home just in time to see the sun shine lol!
At least our bikes dried out on the way home!

To cheer your day here's a lovely swap from Liz

She's used Stampin' Up! Dictionary, Flower Shop,
and a swirl to add the punched out flowers to,
then added some pearls....so pretty!
Have a good week
lots of love

Stampin' Up! wall hanging decoration

At a recent class, we made an inspirational wall hanging...
a home decoration that was inspired by Jan.
Are you ready for a little neck exercise?!

The hanging loop is on the right :)

Here's some of my clever playmates works-in-progress...

So talented, and so different, even though they had the same materials!

Most were finished when they got home,
and some went on to make even more!

We do more than just cards at my classes,
so if you fancy joining us for some fun and crafty therapy,
book your place on the next one!

Thank You

I always try and make my customers a little label or card,
by way of a thank you, and to give a little inspiration....
here's some I was making recently...

I used the Oval Framelits with the tag ribbon-hole from Chalk Talk.
Flower Shop provided the flowers,
and making life easy, one of the many fab things about Stampin' Up!
is the matching punch.....saves a whole lot of cutting out,
and gives a professional finish.
I also used my best stampin' friend the stamp-a-ma-jig
to position the words.....
it's such a simple useful tool I just couldn't live without!

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop

My Playmates make some lovely projects,
so over the next few days I will treat you to some
from our latest play day....

Here's one from Liz
using Flower Shop and Summer Silhouettes.
She kindly made us some clay flowers too....
they are so light and lush, so don't add much to posting costs!

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop and Lace

A little card to show you......one that I sent.....
before I show you over the next few days, some I received...

I used Flower Shop, and a Lace border stamp that I removed from it's wheel!
The lace looks almost real!

Happy Days

This was fun and simple to do,
and quite pretty, I hope you'll agree?

I masked off the center panel, and stamped some flowers,
embossed the panel edges on my scoreboard,
stamped the greeting using my stamp-a-ma-jig,
(if you haven't got one you NEED one!
it helps you position stamps accurately and easily),
then added some stamped punched flowers, ribbon and rhinestones.

Tent card that won't blow over!

Here's an absolute fave that I based on a card Sarn made
(see her blog HERE)

It's a tent card, but with a stable bottom!
It definitely won't get blown over, even in this weather!
I used Modern Medley DSP, Marina Mist ink,
Flower Shop, Four Frames and Simply Sketched stamp sets,
Flower, Oval, and Label punches.

Here's the added hinged base,
this makes it really stable on the mantle piece,
great for hanging embellishments in.

I liked it so much I made some more!
.......when my Petite Petals arrived......
so I could add a couple of small flowers.

These are so pretty in the flesh,
and were a big hit in my Card making Class!

Flower Shop Secret message

I'm not sure I will ever tire of this stamp set.

I wanted to try a technique showcased by Lelly Jelly's Stamp 'n' Scrap,
but in spite of 'googling' various key words,
I failed to find any instructions, so I just did my best.

If anyone knows of a tutorial, please do share!

I'm pleased how the name shows up in the picture,
it seemed more subtle in real life!

I added some flowers with Petite Petals,
and some silver glimmer paper in the centres,
Melon Mambo ribbon finishes it off.

I hope this cheers you up with all the wind and rain we had today.

Monthly swap

Flower Shop meets Summer Silhouette.

A group of us are doing a monthly postal swap
organised by Sarn, who's fab blog can be seen HERE...
Do check out her Sarntangles and Sarndangles!

So this was the swap I made last month
(where DID January go?!?!?!)
I stamped and then masked each flower,
so that one appears in front and the others behind.
I then did a shadow line around them with a marker pen.
This enhances the 3-D effect (hopefully!).

The little sentiment has been die-cut
with one of the many extras from the Thinlits flip card dies.
Rhinestones add some bling :)
