New new home

I know you've seen one similar,
but this one's different honest!

Another new neighbour in the lane,
lots of changes this year in more ways than one.

I used tempting turquoise on this one,
and I have re-discovered it and fallen in love again.
SU do have some gorgeous blues!

Couldn't resist that heart over the chimney again :)

Now, I know you trust me really, (lol)
but to save you looking back, here's the one I did earlier!

'Happy' whatever it is you are doing!

July Rudolph

Whatever life throws at me, I am determined not to miss
my fave challenge, Rudolph Day,
so there!
Managed to squeeze out this card,
that started out completely differently,
(know that feeling?!),
so after much snipping and snarling,
yay!, another one in the stash!

Do go visit some of the others if you can.

Just saw a reminder about the Snippets Playground too,
so .....see you on the swings, I neeeeeed a play!

Have a good week,
take care,
see you soon

My Craft Room

I thought I'd show you some recent improvements in my crafty zone

Some additional units from Ikea, means I can sort out my stamp sets
(work in progress!)

It's open plan, so I'm hoping to keep it neat on the other side too!

Hanging above my desk is the first ever gift 'voucher'
lovingly embroidered by Vanessa at Hoop, Tenterden.

When she first opened I was the very lucky recipient of the very first one she made!

Two desk organisers from Ikea house my ever expanding Punch collection!

I don't think it will EVER be this tidy again!

Have a good week

Wise Owl

Just had to share this amazing card by Jan Twinks

It's an absolute masterpiece, such detail,
and it literally glows.

Do pay her blog a visit, you will just love her style,
everyone does!
She manages to capture elegance, simplicity and bling all at the same time!

Let there be cake!

We are having a big family gathering tomorrow,
so in celebration of the event I completed this really simple kit of cake boxes.

The cake slices are two different sizes, so stack really well on top of each other.
The kit has everything, including the bows and candles.

I thought I'd also show you my latest display board.....
it's a line of 3 wire grid frames from the Hello Life Kit.

It makes a brilliant display where I can hang all the latest swaps and makes
to inspire customers and friends (and me!).

The banner above is a really really old kit that has stood the test of time.
I still love it, so it stays!

Have a fantastic weekend!
take care

Guy Greetings

I needed a quick and easy card for a lovely man......
so got out my Guy Greetings, a fab choice for men's cards

And chose this simple 'classic' car image.
Trouble was, I splattered some tiny dots of ink accidentally.
So, had to get out Gorgeous Grunge and make some proper splats!

All done in coordinating ink, and continued the theme inside too.

Made a matching envelope with the new envelope paper.

Hope your week is going well,
it'll soon be Friday!

No calorie cake

Here's what did at my class recently

I took my lead from the Sweet Stack Project Kit from Stampin' Up!,
we made a little cake wedge, kept it simple,
but I shared how to decorate with stamps and papers.

I kept mine white, with a punched border frill,
but they all came up with different ones (always forget to take a pic !).

Then we made a cute dinky card to match using
Sprinkles of Life.

Tip of the day was how to make a notch for the twine.
If your ribbon or thread, slips or goes wonky,
make little notches with the edge of a punch,
to hold it in place.
We used a triangle here.
Thanks go to Vicky Hayes, she's full of neat tricks!

I'll show you the full cake soon!

gift wrapped

It's a soggy Monday morning here in Kent,
but as we say here "it's good for the garden"!

I forgot to share this the other day...

You may remember this:

So I did a little parcel to go with......
colour coordinated obvs!

Just wanted to share how some simple paper, tag and ribbon
can make a simple gift feel special.
I do know I'm not the best wrapper (or rapper lol),
but you get the drift!

Did you see how a simple colour on colour punched butterfly looks quite cool?

Had to add a gem though eh Jan?
(Jan is teaching me to have sparkle....
.......on my cards, not on me!)

Have a good week

through the square window....

So, who remembers the one my MIL made for Auntie D?

Well, here's the one I made with a new die set.

I layered up lots of windows, because I wanted it 3-d,
but not on foam pads.
I used the new Stampin' Up! embossing folder for the wall background.

I cut the little flowers in different colours,
(they were quite fiddly!)

Stuck a rhinestone above the 'i',
and laid a piece of wisteria wonder card behind the 'panes'.

I used squillions of Snippets on this,
so am popping over to the Playground.

My MIL's 'make' can be found here in case you were wondering.....

Have a fun weekend wherever you are and whatever you do

July swaps

Morning all!

I made some bags for my team swaps this month,
using the Gift Bag Punch Board
(wish it had a shorter catchier name!)

I found the cute pegs in a pound shop.
They match Stampin Up! colours really well,
and our team is called Stars!

I matched the colours with the pegs

The bags were easy to make on the GBPB,
and I even mastered how to make a closing flap!

They were a bit tricky to pack,
and got a bit squished!

I hope to be back soon,
meantime have a fab day!

For Auntie D

Morning!

Sharing a 'number' birthday today,
one of my go-to designs for this type of card,
except the difference here is I didn't make it!
MIL came round for some help in making a special card,
and here's her lovely creation:

The background is embossed, the layers stamped and die cut,
and the flowers and leaves punched.

Most of what we used is retired, but you can achieve something similar
using simple ovals or circles.
I love Julie Kettlewell's  samples for this sort of thing.

Here's a reminder of the weekly deals, and don't forget the clearance rack too!

Happy New Home

Here's a little moving house card
made with Sprinkles of Life, Holiday Home, Kinda Eclectic
and the Owl Builder Punch for the hearts

I punched out the 'cloud' using the coordinating Tree Builder Punch,
and here's a close up of one heart going down the chimney!

I'm hoping this will be a very happy new home.

I'm going to enter this in the

which also happens to fit

All I need to do now is another xmas card with a tree and enter their new one!

Blogging is proving difficult at the moment,
what with being busy and a very sloooooooow internet connection,
but I'll be back as soon as I can,
meantime thanks for looking,
and I'll see you soon!

P.S. I'm going to pop over to see Di in the Snippets Playground,
it's ages since I've been to play, so maybe I'll take a strong cappuccino to say sorry!

Emboss Resist Technique

I have really enjoyed sharing the Emboss Resist Technique.

Fortunately Stampin' Up! supplied us with a ready made embossed base
to do all sorts of inking techniques on.

Here's an example I posted a little while ago

here's the link to that post if you would like a reminder.

I really enjoyed doing a  workshop at High Halden Craft Club,
they all came up with different ideas,
and I promised to post the sample cards here,
so that they could use them as a reminder and inspiration:

sponging with different colours

using water based marker pens to ink the multi coloured stripes

creating an 'ombre' effect with different shades of one colour

inking the background, then adding shading around the leaves

multi coloured sponged stripes

simple inking with one colour

inked and stamped over the top with little candles

another inked and stamped example

stamping and smudging the wet ink

multi coloured cut into panels

'ombre' effect by inking from one edge, graduating to the lighter opposite edge.

I hope you have enjoyed looking, as much as I've enjoyed sharing....
Have an excellent week
