Tall Slim Woodland Wonder

There's a liking for slim cards at the moment, and I saw this invitation to play

over at Freshly Made Sketches.....

This Woodland Wonder is made for a tall slimline card, don't you think?
It makes a really cute card for the young at heart.
I stamped the images.....which you have to join up......then decoupaged and coloured a few elements.
I like the simplicity, do you?

Enjoy your day

Seashells at the Lighthouse

Hi there, thanks for stopping by.

I'm sharing a case (or copy) of a design by Narelle Farrugia, a very talented lady indeed.

Friends are like Seashells and Sailing Home stamp sets used here.
Colours Night of Navy and Balmy Blue.

Kim Fee (another very talented lady) taught me how to tie the twine,
making a loop through a hole one end,
taking it around the card and tying a bow through the other hole.
She also inspired my love of embossing white on black card :)

Have a good day

See you again soon

A Cut Above

This card was so much fun to make.......and perfect for someone who loves making stripes on his  lawns, and is a real perfectionist of grass mowing.

It's a case from Paula Dobson of stampinantics.blogspot.com

who has a really cool tutorial for this stamp set, which a good friend discovered for me.

I stamped and masked the man, clouds and sun, then blended blue and green ink for the background.

Stamped again the man and mower and used dimensional foam pads underneath.
I used Blender Pens to colour in, and had to continue the grass stems by inking only part of the stamp,
and then trying to line it up with the rest, so you can see the dip where I went a bit wonky.
I reckon it was a rabbit hole or something ;)

I then took the card a step further and did a pop-up inside of the man in the hammock.

I used pencils this time to colour in, trying different greens to create interest.
As usual, it's the finishing touches that go awry.......as I trimmed it to fit, I accidently cut some of the grass off..........but by using the offcut to lay flat, it kinda worked.....what do you think?
I was able to stamp the sentiment onto that piece too.

Cheers!
I hope you have a relaxing weekend

Missing comments found.....

Hiya, This is an apology to anyone who’s comments have not appeared on my blog.

Not being very good with technology, I wrongly assumed all comments were emailed to me for moderation, so avoiding sad scammers and spammers.

However, I had trouble authorising one, found myself on a page to manage comments, and found quite a few awaiting authorisation. So hopefully that is now rectified!

I also turned commenters to all instead of only those with google accounts.

I have no idea if that’s better or worse, so any advice is appreciated. Now I have to figure the new blogger email subscription thing......I’ve no idea if I have it, but I expect I’ll figure it out eventually!

So, thank you for your comments, they are always very much appreciated!

I’ll be back with more cards soon, meantime I think the weather is slowly improving here, which is a relief as my grass is knee high and needs cutting more than my hair!

Have a good week

Lesley

Two fruity...........

Hello there..........sun is shining this morning (rare event these days!)

so I'm sharing a couple of sunny fruity makes using Under My Umbrella.....

I found this fruity paper in my stash, double sided
so the plainer side is sooooo good for coordination and contrast.

I stamped and fussy cut the umbrellas and "sun", then stamped the handles on a white die cut,
once I'd worked out positioning......which could have been better :)
and added some gems.

Having lots of snippets (like you do) I wondered what the wellies would look like.....
used scraps for layers, die cut three white stitched rectangles,
then stamped the wellies AND flowers AND leaves on some more snippets, and fussy cut.
Those flowers and leaves are are tiny, but I love fussy cutting :)
The welly soles looked bland so I added blend pen to highlight

As I used lots of snippets, I'm entering the Snippets Playground HERE

Sweet Strawberry

Sweet Strawberry is a gorgeous Stamp set (154394)  and Punch (154329)

There are so many ideas out there..... once again, not a style I'd normally go for,

but it is oh so SWEET!

I was inspired by our Sale-a-bration in January, when you could earn the Berry Delightful Papers,

and the Berry Blessings Stamps, and by all the talented designers who created such gorgeous cards.

I unashamedly cased/copied this from Craft-somnia Momma
Apologies but it was just sooooo gorgeous,
see her Blog Post HERE

Emboss the background with white powder, add some blended ink to highlight,
add a strip of paper, and stamp and punch the images.
You could also adapt the design to suit products you have already.

I also love the white embossed sentiment on black card, then fussy cut,
plus the addition of some sequins.

You may see that I liked it so much I made a few!

Gosh that's a lot of pictures...

Enjoy your day

Rainbow Over My Umbrella

Sunshine and Showers bring Love's Flowers...........and Rainbows.

I was inspired by this challenge, and a couple of classes I attended virtually.

Only recently acquired this retiring set, thinking I wouldn't use it much......

couldn't have been more wrong!

Working with a stencil, and a hand made one, I messed about a bit with inks and Blend pens,
as you can see below....

I cut out my favourite part of the rainbow, and used other bits to stamp the umbrella and flowers on.
I then stamped rainbow coloured rain drops, coloured in bits of the sentiment and fussy cut it......mainly because I mucked up the first one!...............
I also positioned the umbrella to strategically hide some rain drops and the odd splodge!

So, as so often happens, this evolved with a mixture of inspiration, frustration, and happy accidents.
I may add some sparkle to the rain drops........but fear I'll mess up again!

Enjoy your day

By The Dock

By The Dock is another retiring set that I have added to my collection.

It really does extend the use of some of my other sets, and there are always nice sentiments, bonus!

This was one of those ideas in my head ( you know what I mean! ),
that turns out way much harder and longer to make than anticipated..........
I made a mask for the dock and used blend brushes to ink the sea and sky.

I used a waterbrush to move the ink...........a quick and simple watercolour method, easy but don't use too much water.....guess how I know................ I added some land.....not in the plan......not sure if it works, but I really wanted that frog in it!
I watercoloured with same method and fussy cut the sentiment............
........so the background of it matches the dock and boat, and stands out a bit from the grass.

See below for my first, binned attempt!!
I did so many things wrong, ended up with a huge sun, wonky waves,
and a shipwrecked boat instead of a nicely docked one!

I'm entering themaleroomchallenge.blogspot.com

I hope you're having a good weekend...........rather soggy in Kent......still, good time to craft eh?
Thanks for visiting, do pop back soon.

Seaside Notions

Today I'm sharing a quick card using Seaside Notions.

Not a stamp style I'd normally go for, but having had so much fun with

Friends Are Like Seashells, and this set was discounted, I decided to have it to compliment,

and extend the usage and variety opportunities.

Hopefully this also fills the brief at Simplylessismore challenge of  'Sea Creatures'

Birthday Cards (2)

I'm sharing more of the cards I received, I feel so lucky.
First up a swing card with a beautiful Fairy...

Below left is made with lots of inky layers, such a cool effect.
Below right, is a die cut frame, that's been painstakingly filled with little details in the inserts.

The next two are also lovely, the snowdrops have chunky glitter,
and the chickens have the bottom landscaped layer decoupaged over the main picture.

Please pop back tomorrow for more.....
