Embossing on black for 52cct

 Hello crafty friends

I had some old speciality card which is black with a coloured core,

that is specifically design to reveal itself when dry embossed, and /or sanded,

so I did both…..twice… so it’s a twofer…

A square version, the EF was a prize ages ago from pixiessnippetsplayground,
the sentiment an old Stampin’ Up! one that I heat embossed in gold.
The ribbon was from a gift from a kind friend….it helped make this layer into a square …
I always try to recycle what I can, do you?!

A standard size, this one used some more old stash…a fussy cut poinsettia from an old SU paper,
and sentiment that was from an old kit, which luckily hid the join,
where I added another piece of embossed card to make it a better fit!

Had to have some sparkle, so gold and red gems added to finish them off.

That’s another two for the box!

Do take inspiration from the 52 Christmas card throwdown, and have a good day.

Christmas Rose

Using a kit card as my base

I watercoloured the flower and stem

I like adding twine and embellishments.

I also made this one, on a plain white card blank

The first was for a birthday, the second I’ll keep and hope I don’t have to use it.

As I’ve watercoloured the flower, I’ll enter the

Sunflower split 3 cards and envelopes

 Hello crafty friends,

today I’m sharing some cards made with the Split card texture die from SU,

and a John next door sunflower (or any flower) loaned from a friend.

This one has a plain yellow card behind the die cut.
The flower centre has a brown and black snippet for depth and dimension.
Snipping the petals, also adds movement and texture.

I love the tiny sentiments and dies from the Greetery.

The next one has yellow patterned paper and stamped sentiment

and then this is some old SU daffodil paper….I quite like the dark colour.

I have lots of snippets of greens and coloured card by my die cutting machine,
great for making flowers etc.

I decorated the envelopes with offcuts.
Do you have a favourite?

There’s a couple of challenges with a sunflower theme, so I’m entering
Pixies Snippets Playground #461 (snippets used for flower, tag and envelope decor)

Peace in the forest x 2

Hello crafty people, I’m back with some more of those papers.
Sometimes it feels like cheating, using a background paper,
but it is gorgeous, and I do try to add to it 😃

I like the rich brown colours in the paper, so stamped my wee animals,

and sentiment  in Early Espresso ink.

I did add a touch of white posca to the bunny tail

and some glitter on the snow…(please excuse my shadow on the photo 🙄)

The next one was a bit of a disaster……

Some more Cardio stamps…so stamped the fence and sentiment in the Espresso,
and the bunnies in crumb cake…..

The bunnies blurred , so had to stamp again and fussy cut, so as to not waste the paper….😩
…..the wreath was on the fence , and the only way to make it stand out was….
to stamp again and fussy cut , including gutting the centre 🙄…….and…even the tiny ribbon! 😳
Then…..added some old liquid pearls snow…..maybe my blobs were too big,
or the product was past it’s best?……but it’s a tad sticky 😱….

I’d used a couple of strips of the paper for another card, so it didn’t fit 🤕…...
so I pretended I designed it centred, leaving visible strips either side. 🤫

Any advice welcome!

Hopefully it made you smile, because I’m sure it’s never happened to you?!

Have a great Sunday…..I may sneak into the craft room, while my better half watches the football.
I so hope our girls win, but I can’t take the stress, so I’ll be able to hear if he groans or cheers!

Tulips and nature

I was asked to make a card for a friend, something I rarely agree to,

as I can’t take the pressure 🥵,

but on this occasion I agreed….

The brief was 40th Birthday with a love of nature and tulips.

Out came a favourite Grove die, and New Horizons DSP,
along with some Gummiapan dies.
So the background is designer series paper…..
wouldn’t have had time to make my own and this paper is retired I think, but awesome.

Layered up different greens using a grass die, and two greens using the Grove die frame.
The deer are from the Grove dies, the pot, tulips, birds, hedgehog, snail and tufts of grass Gummiapan.
I used Blend pens to colour tulips and bits, and a bit of glitter glue for the snail trail…..😃

I hope you have a good weekend wherever you are

Snoopy meets the zoo crew band

One for a music lover today,

using the SU zoo crew DSP and featuring a borrowed stamp.

I’ve always loved Snoopy and Peanuts,
and this seemed fun for a guitar playing music buff.

I should have made it a bigger size so you saw more of the paper,
but I did decoupage a fussy cut singer!
I hope it makes him smile.
Have a good day!

Footprints in the sand

I was lucky to have been gifted another stamp from a friend.

She’s sorting out her craft room, and purging old wooden stamps.

This one is a big scene, ideal for a masculine card.

I just gently coloured it with Blend pens.

Hope you have a peaceful Sunday.

That DSP with two more…..

I’m back with more from the One Horse Open Sleigh background papers.

This sheet was a bit challenging……a very different perspective, but I do like a challlenge!

However…..it’s not perfect, but I did my best, at least following the footprints.

Meantime……..I had a plan B, as I thought maybe the black was a bit harsh.

Let’s take a snippet of white and stamp a brown one, plus a sparkly silver snippet for a star.

I was going to overlay him, but nah, that didn’t work either, so…..

I’ve just ordered some stars from the new SU mini catalogue, due to publish next month.

He needs a special star to look at!

Using another background paper from the SU pack,

I fussy cut two deer….

There were a few tiny landlocked pieces I coloured lightly with blue,

but the photo shows I need to do more to take away the white.

Raised them on foam pads, hence the shadow.

Stamped sentiment,  and another card for the box.

Heading over to the Snippets Playground, for a new challenge and super prize draw..

Freezing Fun in the forest

Another card using the new paper from Stampin’ Up!

This background paper had a slope…..had to be done with the Freezin’ Fun set.
I had to employ the mirror technique using the Stamparatus, so they were all facing the same way.

Ready, set, go!

I think the penguin wins :)
