Crafty Carrot inspired Country Flowers

If you’re not familiar with the Crafty Carrot Collective, do take a look.

 They inspired these two cards,

and I particularly enjoyed making a barn or shed door.

Both use the SU Country Flowers set.

Mid century modern

It’s the first time I’ve got around to playing with these sets from Uniko.

I got inspiration from their blog for this trio….

Using various green inks, I used my stamping platform to stamp the words.
Stamped the present randomly for the background.
Coloured the fussy cut tree and presents with blend pens.

Then I fancied a red version, slightly different but same principal

Finally using Mid Century Modern Wreath builder words that are a bit smaller…

Randomly stamping them down the page, adding a Christmas in black, fussy cut,
and a few gems on top of the little stamped stars.

I’m a bit behind Rudolph Days Challenge for September, but you have until the end of the month,

Also entering Peace on Earth #72 anything goes and a pretty mood board.

Trio of Enduring Beauty

This trio of cards were made with SU Enduring Beauty.

DSP as the background, added a die cut cover plate,
and used a stencil (bokeh, lots of circles) to add colour to the floral diecut

Next, used a strips of paper, coloured stamped die cut with blend pens,
and added die cut sentiment.

Lastly, stencilled background, frame of cardstock overlaid,
then watercoloured the flowers.

Hope you’re having a good weekend

Crafty Roo for Allsorts

I really wanted to enter the Allsorts challenge this week, but had nothing fishy to hand,

so next best is a prize I won from them and haven’t used yet, a large corner stamp from Crafty Roo,

(my memory is getting worse, so please tell me if that’s not right).

Edited to add…….the gorgeous stamp was a prize from the Snippets Playground!

My inspiration was from Jo Rice, using the honeycomb and bee.
I made my own stencil using a Detailed Bee SU die,  inked with daffodil delight,
having stamped the large corner in black.
I coloured it and the bee (from SU Honey Bee stamp) with watercolour pencils, using the blue and yellow from the bottom mountain picture at “Hand stamped sentiments”.

I stamped two bees, using snippets of white, then fussy cut the main body and top wings to add dimension.

Then I faffed around 😂 with the card base and mount.

I ended up fussy cutting around the large corner,

and also cut my base card, from a square to more of a rectangle, as it just didn’t look right.

I’m entering the following challenges…..

Allsorts #798 (anything goes)

NBUS #66 (never before used)

Snippets Playground #489 (use snippets)

We love stamping   (hand coloured)

Hand stamped sentiments #447 (mood board, bottom mountain pic colours)

Love a duck!

 Happy Birthday Di!

Oh love a duck, I’ve been paddling water waiting to share this one….
Our blogging friend has a great sense of humour, and can tell the best funny stories,
so I tried to make a card to make her smile 😃
Yes, it’s another paper scene from Charming Duck Pond, but I fussy cut the ducks 🦆 ,
including the “puddle” of water, or rings, trying to camouflage with the picture,
and representing her family of three, including the one with their bottom up……
hmmmmm  Dudley maybe 🤔😂.
I then had fun making the tag with various die cuts.

Have a great day!

Autumn colours

It’s like someone pressed a switch from summer to autumn!

I think I may have blinked and missed summer to some extent…..just busy I guess.

So I’m popping by with a couple of autumn cards for men…

I had an embossed sheet of that I’d coloured with inks, with lovely leaves, that set the scene.
I then found some coordinating designer series paper and a border die,
that I used to chop the embossed piece in two.

I stamped and inked the relaxing man and the tree, cutting them out to sit on the paper background.

I’m taking this to the Allsorts Challenge #797 “autumn colours.”

Here’s the second card with the other half of the embossed piece.

This is the border die set…

I’m taking this to the Inkspirational Challenge #324 “make your mark”,

I’ve coloured with inks using a brush, blending brush, and blending pen.

I’ve intentionally left them without words, so I can choose when I decide to send them.

Hope it’s warm and dry where you are!

Spotlight on Enduring Beauty

This one is based on the spotlight technique.

Stamped the flowers to cover the front, die cut a circle,

coloured it with blends, layered it up on some Lemon Lolly card.

Sentiment white on black, with die cut leaves tucked behind, and added gems.

Pine Trees In Colour

I’ve liked some cards I’ve seen using black as the base, here’s the results.

Firstly I die cut the trees leaving the pieces intact, giving the solid pieces texture.

I added gold stars and die cut greeting .

Second was an experiment with some old luminart shimmerypaints,
on a quest to use some old products gathering dust.
I also used some old vibrant embossing powders.

This turned out better in the picture than in reality 😂
It warped a bit as I added too much water to try and even out the brushwork,
which wasn’t very successful, but on I ploughed.

This card below inspired the ones today and yesterday, that used the In Colour cardstock.
It has no watermark so if it’s yours, please let me know so I can give you credit.
It’s so pretty, but I couldn’t do it justice, as they say, must try harder!

Mini Merry pine trees and me aged 6!

Hi there, sorry but more Christmas cards again…

I enjoyed die cutting these tiny Gummiapan pine trees from SU In Colour card.
Coordinating the merry, and a Christmas from black card for contrast,
all sat upon a snowflake border.

Here’s a pic of my snippets

Next up a navy card, using two die cut snowflake borders, and greeting, from white card,

the mini trees cut from old SU white glimmer paper , winked the snowflakes.

And it would seem my creativity started early…..a cousin found this Kentish Times clipping of me at a craft event, when I was 6 years old! I do remember always drawing.

I was encouraged and inspired by artistic family members.

One of my cousins even holds art exhibitions of his paintings, way beyond my own expectations.

I collected the sweet “cigarette” cards, and often tried to draw the animals and birds.

I loved doing school projects that I could add illustrations to……happy days!

I have to take this homework over to the

Snippets Playground Challenge #488,

where there’s more fabulous prizes!

Do join the fun if you can, they’re a fabulous friendly group, often getting up to shenanigans in the treehouse, holding skipping sessions, or just playing on the swings.

Take care and see you soon

Snowflake duo

A couple more for the Christmas box…

I used some of the new In Colours from SU for this first one.

Uniko snowflake stencil and sentiment, Gummiapan snowflake die.

Masked either side of the central panel, added sparkly gems.
Entering Peace on Earth Christmas #71….anything goes

Uniko stencil again, and their sentiment, and old SU snowflake frame,
cut from white glitter paper, added gems.

Inked using blue pink purple, the sentiment being the focal point.
Taking this to the Allsorts Challenge #796…getting sentimental

Another two for the box 😃
