Ballet Sisters

Hi there,
I've been having a continual sort out of my craft stash, like you do,
and had these decoupage papers that I decided were too nice to throw,
and no one else seemed to want them, so.......
It so happens my sister's birthday looming, she loves dance and fitness,
and there's three of us sisters....

The decoupage had coppery/pink tones....very shiny, so I backed it with
Copper Foil that I dry embossed with "Tufted", then added a die cut stitched hexagon frame

I then placed the composition in the centre, adding copper embossed vellum strip greeting
(bit of a mouthfull?!!!)
and a satin ribbon.

It's a bit.......shiny.........but let's hope she likes it?!

A Good Man 21st

HI there, another male card, this time for a 21st birthday,
hence thought the car key paper might be apt.
This one I coloured using ink and an aqua painter, matching the colours to the paper.

A Good Man

Hiya, here with a great one for the guys, using Stampin' Up!
A good Man.
I die cut a stitched rectangle of paper (for a car fan),
added a stamped stitched die cut square, and a few Candy Dots

I took two shots, but I don't think either are very good photographs!

Have a good day

Happy Birthday To You belatedly

Hello again
Using one of the Sale-A-Bration FREE gifts here,
Happy Birthday To You.

Here I've stamped it and fussy cut the flowers and leaves

It's a lovely stamp useful for any birthday, wedding, anniversary etc.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU CLING STAMP SET (ENGLISH)
I stamped the flowers on dotty paper, and the leaves on soft sea foam card,
then did my own decoupage.
The frame was die cut then dry embossed,
adding the sentiment in the centre, and a few sequins.

Inside I added a strip of the paper down the edge.
I was late with this one, so added "Belated" from Happy Birthday Gorgeous,
the "lovey day" is from Forever Lovely (love that script).

This was again copied cased from Kim Fee, see HERE.

Thanks so much Floating Frame

Hello I'm popping by to share some thank you cards I made.
I'd seen the floating frame technique using some sort of film,
(which did sound a bit fiddly)
and I thought it might be possible to do it without the film.
Then I received a card from Kim Fee doing exactly that!
Her's is so pretty, and I couldn't manage to get anywhere near her lovely work,
but here's my first attempt....
I used Sweet Soiree papers, fussy cut some designs out.
This is so much easier if you have frame dies, I just love the SU stitched rectangles.
On the one above I think I cut a frame in white,
then cut a frame from the paper and then fussy cut bits.
The one below was fussy cut then hand cut to fit the frame underneath.

I backed the frame with a contrast paper, and the fussy cut bits "float"
by placing them on dimensionals, or foam pads

A lovely friend made me an advent filled with little crafty bits,
the candy dots came in useful for these.

The sentiments are fussy cut / die cut.
Do hop over to Kim's website to her lovely designs HERE

Have a good weekend

Grace's Garden monochrome

Hello there
I needed a "quick" card.....we all know how that normally pans out!
In this case I stamped and die cut a few elements,
fiddled about a bit, did some second and third generation stamping in the background
(this just means you stamp a few times without adding more ink)
added a few gems,....et voila....

I raised some of it up on foam pads, and wished I'd maybe dry embossed the topper,
but I liked the white on white and simplicity.
(Highland Heather is the ink)
This is a set I knew I'd get lots of "play" out of.....do you find that with some products?

I hope you've had a good weekend

Golden Honey Bee

Hello
This one is for Australia...........
I'm sure all our thoughts are with those suffering the awful heat and fires.
Nature is so cruel in some ways, we have more than enough rain here,
if only we could send them some.
I fear these extremes will continue, just hope they don't get too much worse.

In true Aussie spirit though, I found this fabulous blog hop via Sue Vine,
and I immediately had to rush to the craft room!

I love how Peta used the stripey paper for the beehive,
so here's my version:

I made discoveries on the way......hadn't realised how many of the papers can be die cut,
and then, you can use the beehive die to cut the curved sentiment,
then I used a circle die to cut the opposite side

I added some small elements inside....a few hexagons left over from the honeycomb die ,
and a couple fussy cut.

There are lots more ideas and inspiration on the blog hop,
and if you don't recognise some of the products,
maybe you need a copy of the new mini catalogue?, if so just ask.!
Also it's the start of the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration,
a fabulous time to grab a bargain!
