March Rudolph Day

Yes, I know I'm late.....this should have been posted on 25th of the month,
but luckily we are allowed to post up to the end of the month for the
Rudolph Day Challenge

Thank goodness I was having a quick hop around blogs whilst in bed this morning,
otherwise I probably would have missed it all together,
and I would NOT have been a happy bunny!

Anyway, here it is, my entry, designed by Ros Maggs, cardmaker extraordinair,
who ran a class for me recently, and I think she found this idea on pinterest (who doesn't?)

It uses the Window Box Thinlits....."really" I hear you ask?
.....oh yes....it comes with lots and lots of adorable elements
like what I used on my Mother's Day boxes.

To make this you die cut the candles 3 times, then layer paper behind the apertures.
Would you believe this is Rich Razzleberry card, with gold candles,
and red and green paper strips laid horizontally.
Hopefully you will stamp a sentiment better than I did :)

I liked it so much I made another!
This time for a birthday card....because you can!

This time I used snippets of the glimmer paper you could get for free
(I think it's sold out now, but you have until 31st to get a free gift with qualifying purchase)
I painstakingly laid strip of paper individually, vertically behind each candle stem,
and a strip of gold horizontally behind the flames.

So, I might just have to see if anyone's in the
as I haven't been to play for absoultely ages!
Do pop over to both these blogs, it's worth it to see all the lovely makes.

Have a good week

Happy Mother's Day

Again I am so lucky to have two Mums to spoil

I used daubers to ink the flower stamp with mint macaron and bermuda bay,
inked the small dragonfly in mm and tipped the wigs in bb

added a small heart to the sentiment, and made 3 layers of dragonfly

made them a box to fill with chocolate...

topped with another dragonfly, and added an mm heart to each side

Happy Mother's Day

Thoughts are with those who miss theirs....big hugs xxx

Thanks also for your lovely comments and birthday wishes xxx

Birthday flowers

I had a birthday recently, a 'special' one, but you know it's bad manners to ask a ladies age...
all will be revealed in the next post....

I had so many lovely gifts, cards and flowers...

and the first time I ever had to water a card....a flower card....have you seen one before?
It has a plastic vase attached to the card...

there was a wooden butterfly, these lovely blooms, and a pipette to water them with!

Have a fabulous weekend

Avant Garden

Hiya
have you missed me?!

I apologise not only for not posting, but also for not visiting!
Hopefully normal service will be resumed....

Here's a lovely card made by a dear friend, with one of the free sets Avant Garden

It was softly sponged with ink,  and stamped using the masking technique.
I really love this and the colours.

Hope all is well with you and yours....

Dragonfly Dreams with alcohol

Dragonfly with alcohol.....
.......Alcohol Inks obviously!

Love the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, so versatile,
put some alcohol inks on some acetate, stamped with Stazon ink,
then die cut the wings, attached them with a brad.

die cut the greeting and fussy cut slightly larger one to layer up.

Have a fab week

Tasty Truck secret

Here's a fun card I made for a great nephew
using the Tasty Truck set from sale-a-bration

I used some fun old paper, did a bit of decoupage,
and named the truck after his Mum's cake business

can you see I cut a 'window' to hide the secret.....

.............little cakes

this is one of the fun sentiments

and I finished inside using Brushwork Alphabet (good for unusual names eg welsh )
and Endless Birthday Wishes

Have Fun!

Design-a-Tee in a shoe box

I had to come up with a shoe box swap recently.
This is a make n take where you put all the stuff to make your card in a box,
for everyone to make, everyone else does the same,
and then you pass all the boxes around the table.

Its a really fun way of making lots of different projects,
you don't have to wait for anything, and you can do it in your own time.
There are some times when the boxes stack up,
but it's a good excuse to have a cat if you're waiting for the next box.

I wanted to use the Designer T set, so played around with the new doily and a couple of shirts,
I love all the tiny details in this set, like the collars.

I also wanted to share some of the new Glimmer paper,
but didn't feel the above worked right,
so came up with a simpler version

too many stamped flowers I felt,
so did a less is more version

which is the design I settled on (above)

Then I was in playful mood, so tried to make an apron with a Tee,
to look like my SU one.....

Here's the card I made.....

Not quite true to life, but it's always fun using stamps in "alternative" ways!

Happy Stamping!
