Here we are, 25th of the month, and that can mean only one thing.....
This is where we are encouraged to get ahead and make some
of 'those' cards each month.
Do join in if you can, it's so much better than rushing in December!
My entry this month is from a brand new set that will probably get overlooked in the
New Seasonal Catalogue from Stampin' Up!
Season Like Christmas
is a sketchy kinda tree that can be layered up to give a 3-d effect,
and it has some really lovely sentiments.
"Thinking of you at Christmas"
is one of my favourites, as there are so many people for whom it can be a very difficult season.
I stamped the trunk first....it is actually split so that it peeks out, giving a realistic look,
stamped a layer in old olive, then the next in second generation mossy meadow.
I stamped the 'snow' with versamark, and heat embossed with glitter,
I also added some more sparkle using a teeny tiny stamp from Star of Light.
Then I added some embossing paste for some raised snow,
which bubbles when you heat it!
It's thanks to special people like you who provide me with inspiration from your blogs and challenges,so a big thank you for taking the time to visit mine.
Have a happy Rudolph Day

This is such a lovely card, Lesley. You brought back so many memories for me as when I was first married, I worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway in the summers (while at University).
ReplyDeleteI worked in very small towns inthe Kootenays and met my husband there. At the beginning, We had only a couple of stores, groceries and gas. We did not even have a bank!
Needless to mention, there were no tree sellers. You had to get a tag from the forrestry dept. and go out into chest deep snow to cut your tree. Somehow the ones that looked good were always very far from the road and ater a few forays, Al would just give up and cut the best scrawny tree he could find.
We called them Charlie Brown trees and had them for about 8 years!
Thanks for taking part in the August Rudolph Days Challenge.
Another awesome Rudolph Day card mate.
