Spring sunshine

I’m back with a few more cards using Spring Garden in different ways.

This is possibly the last of my layering stencil obsession cards….for now at least!

I used a couple more of my textured backgrounds.

Just love the Bermuda Bay blend pens with Parakeet Party.
You can colour the stamp in with anything …..

Next up…..leave it white!
I just did a bit of shading with yellow and green ink and pens.

I inked the sentiment background with a brush to make it pop more.

And finally…..no line version….using the layering stencils on their own..

I backed the sentiment with a snippet to match the card blank

I hope the sun shines wherever you are…

More lovely layers

I made some more cards using the layering stencils of Enduring Beauty,

and some more stencilled backgrounds with the shimmery paste…

The weather has been so dismal but here’s hoping for brighter days very soon!

I walked in the pouring rain to our mobile library that visits the village once a fortnight.

The books all have thick plastic covers, but I took extra plastic bags just in case!

It’s a marvellous service, and I’m trying to persuade

as many of my local book loving friends as possible to join in.

You know what they say…..use it or lose it…!

Embossing Paste through a Stencil

I love the Stampin' Up Embossing Paste,
it's so easy to use,
and there's some new ones available shortly,
shimmery white and silver.

Here's a card using inks to dye the paste,
which is spread through a stencil.

It adds lovely dimension and texture

So, Dare to Dream......

Rudolph Day in August

Here we are, 25th of the month, and that can mean only one thing.....
This is where we are encouraged to get ahead and make some
of 'those' cards each month.
Do join in if you can, it's so much better than rushing in December!

My entry this month is from a brand new set that will probably get overlooked in the
New Seasonal Catalogue from Stampin' Up!

Season Like Christmas

is a sketchy kinda tree that can be layered up to give a 3-d effect,
and it has some really lovely sentiments.
"Thinking of you at Christmas"
is one of my favourites, as there are so many people for whom it can be a very difficult season.

I stamped the trunk first....it is actually split so that it peeks out, giving a realistic look,
stamped a layer in old olive, then the next in second generation mossy meadow.

I stamped the 'snow' with versamark, and heat embossed with glitter,
I also added some more sparkle using a teeny tiny stamp from Star of Light.
Then I added some embossing paste for some raised snow,
which bubbles when you heat it!

It's thanks to special people like you who provide me with inspiration from your blogs and challenges,so a big thank you for taking the time to visit mine.

Have a happy Rudolph Day

Stampin' Up! against a brick wall

Hiya
I hope you've had a good weekend.

Hopefully you've had time to relax....like in this card

I made this for Alan
He has lots of hobbies, but I've made cards for all of them,
and was itching to try out the new SU! Embossing Paste
I used an old stamp set for the stars, stamped the greeting,
and die cut with the stitched square

He's a builder, and we were due a log delivery,
so I spread the paste through the brick wall stencil,
and fussy cut the 'logs' from the fab DSP paper pack.
I also stamped the deckchair canvas on some of the colour theory paper,
cut it out and mounted it on foam pads, did the same with the logs.
He chuckled and liked it!

I can't wait to try all of the techniques you can use with the
Embossing Paste..........
