Gorgeous Garden leaves

There’s a die set in the annual SU catalogue that I overlooked until I saw someone use it.
There are two background dies, one with leaves and one with flowers.
The detail is as the name suggests, Gorgeous Garden.

Loved make the background on this, with Blending brushes.

With the offcuts I die cut some leaves that emboss detail at the same time.

Added my favourite tiny tag, and a twine bow

Come back tomorrow for the floral version and a couple of tips!

Meantime I’m popping over to NBUS , a place that encourages you to use your never before used stash,
as it’s the first time I’ve used this die set.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and comments.

Love Cats

Yes I do love cats, and I have friends who love cats,
So obviously I had to get this stamp set….Love Cats :)
This card was inspired by many, including Emma Goddard and Rebecca Wilmore.
The fence is a background stamp, cut to size.

The one on the fence is saying to the one hanging from the branch
“what ARE you doing?!”
I cut the branch from cork paper, and the tag was made with stamps and simply cut to size.
An enamel heart added.
The cats were fussy cut.

I used Seasonal Layers for the branch.
I have lots of die sets that have Dies that can be used in many ways, for different occasions.
I photocopied them and filed the copies, so I can quickly flick through to find tags, snowflakes etc.
It didn’t take me that long, and it’s been so worth the effort.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and comments.

Spirited Snowmen

Hello there
it's way too hot here again......for me anyway......
so luckily I can hide indoors and catch up on crafty stuff!

I have not been making many christmas cards this year,
so thought it was about time to catch up a bit.......

I bought Spirited Snowmen at the end of the last christmas catalogue,
so that I'd have something new to play with .....
it hasn't seen much play time until now.

I have used a lot of old tools on these, but similar products are available!
I set about embossing with Northern Flurry on a few white toppers,
stamped my snowmen in various poses :)
and coloured them in, doing a bit of body shadowing in pale blue

Die cut some snowflakes from Seasonal Layers Thinlits,
using snippets of card.
Tip: check your stash for elements you may not realise you have!

Stamped some background snowflakes,
and added sentiments using dies on scraps of card and vellum

I found some swirls on Beautiful Blizzard, and Merry Christmas to all,
adding some movement on the imaginary "ice"

Added some fine silver thread behind the circle above, hard to see!

I then added some glitter to bits of embossing, his boots and hat

They made me smile.......hope they do you!

I've used lots of snippets so it's about time I visited the Snippets Playground!
Do go and look, Di runs a fabulous blog, and challenges,
and has the cutest dog!

Hot news!
The Catalogues have arrived!
If you come to my classes or have ordered with me recently you will receive a copy soon.
If you would like a copy otherwise, please just ask, and I'll send you one.

It's a fabulous one, full of new things and lots of inspiration!

Keep cool and I'll see you soon

Supersized

Here's a supersized 8" x 8" card

I don't often make large cards due to postage costs,
but this one's being hand delivered and it suited the paper
I wanted to use the chair from Seasonal Layers,
chose the Wood Textured paper as background,
cut leaves from crumb cake and inked in crumb cake, added orange to edges.
The grass was crumb cake inked with green, then punched with an old punch.
I love the dinky drink on the chair arm, and a stitched oval sentiment finished the scene.

Have a SUPER Saturday!

Wood Textured Leaves

I did a class recently based on the Colourful Seasons set,
and wanted a masculine card....

I used the Wood Textures DSP, stamped and die cut some of the delicate leaves from the
Seasonal Layers Thinlits,  adding one cut from the Copper Foil,
a bit of the same DSP in the background, and some fibrous Burlap Ribbon
finishes off a simple card.

Here's a summary of the class:

I try to show the versatility of sets, as well as tips and techniques,
there's always something new to learn,
and I always learn something from my class attendees too.

I'd love you to join us for fun and friendship,
so if you'd like more information, please just ask.

I run regular Thursday afternoon classes from 2 till 4pm,
£10 per person, all tools, materials and refreshment included.
Other classes/workshops/parties by arrangement.

I hope to welcome you one day,
meantime thanks for stopping by my blog,
and keeeeeep Crafting!
(small tribute to the lovely Bruce Forsyth, bless him)

Another relaxing card

Using the Colourful Seasons,
we die cut a circle, masked and made a background with a sponge brayer
(the sponge brayer is so simple, and leaves no lines)
using soft sky and sahara sand ink.

stamped some faux grass, and the deckchair frame.
stamped the deckchair canvas on some Colour Theory paper,
which made it look denim-like, cut it out and glued in place

Virtually a one layer card apart from the canvas and ribbon.

Don't forget to redeem your vouchers earned from last month,
order the Christmas bundle early, or enjoy the new seasonal catalogue.
Ask if you'd like a copy

Meantime happy crafting

Stampin' Up! against a brick wall

Hiya
I hope you've had a good weekend.

Hopefully you've had time to relax....like in this card

I made this for Alan
He has lots of hobbies, but I've made cards for all of them,
and was itching to try out the new SU! Embossing Paste
I used an old stamp set for the stars, stamped the greeting,
and die cut with the stitched square

He's a builder, and we were due a log delivery,
so I spread the paste through the brick wall stencil,
and fussy cut the 'logs' from the fab DSP paper pack.
I also stamped the deckchair canvas on some of the colour theory paper,
cut it out and mounted it on foam pads, did the same with the logs.
He chuckled and liked it!

I can't wait to try all of the techniques you can use with the
Embossing Paste..........

July Rudolph Day

Happy Rudolph Day everyone!
Only a day late.....
and no mice in sight.....they've gone off on their holidays!

Ok, so this is called faux embossing.........
normally "faux" things are easy.............errrrrr nope not this one!

I decided to try out Stampin' Up!'s new Sizzix Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets,
which will be known as sticky sheets from now on!

This is the mess I got into............!!!

This is all the debris.........that was on the table.....let alone what was on me and the floor!

So, I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits for the sentiment
(which is from retired set Tin of Tags)

I used some silver thread behind the sentiment ,
and some of the new Glitter Enamel Dots.......
(which are gorrrrrrrgeous!)

The snowflakes are from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits set
(you must get this bundle it's awesome!)

..........and I ended up making a few.....

I love the effect of faux embossing and will definitely try it again!

If you want to join in see the Rudolph Day Challenge
and as I used soooooo many snippets I'm joining the Snippets Playground too,
see you there!

If you're still reading.......I've been absent due to parent trouble....
and trying to shoehorn 7 days of busyness into 5,
which is not good, as I'm sure a lot of you know from personal experience.
I am lucky to have two sisters to share, but with both parents very poorly it's still a struggle.
Anyway.......I'm here and I'm going to try and be here more often
AND I'm going to try and visit you too!!!

Meantime, if you want a good deal, the Bonus Days end soon...Monday in fact!

Get a voucher worth £4.50 for every £45 you spend.....and you can have as many as you like,
and you do have to redeem them in August....but there's a new christmas stamp set you can buy early!

There's loads of stuff in the catalogue (if you'd like a copy just ask),
and there's also bargains in the Clearance rack.
And.....shhhhhh......the new seasonal catalogue is out soon!

Use the Host Code FPR4XPA3
for an extra gift from me,

or join my band of happy stampers and get an amazing deal of £195 of stuff for just £99!

Happy Stamping
Lots of Love
