Oliver

Mojo absent, needed card for a boy....Large Number Framelits to the rescue!

Birthday Banners helped too.....

simple is best sometimes!

I'm sure he'll like what's inside the card....

.....as well as some birthday cash obviously!

(do you like how I used some enamel shapes to hold the balloon string in place?)

A one layer musical leaf

I'm going to get you singing on this one!

I created a mask using Leaflet Framelits.
Laid the leaf mask on my topper, stamped in Versamark and embossed Sheet Music in copper powder.

Added happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, this is where you start singing :)

Laid the background mask, so just the leaf shape aperture showing,
added yellow ink, then a moon mask, more ink, more colours, gradually building up shade and depth,

Stamped parts of Nature Sings, the deer and trees, coloured them in with marker pens
to make them stand out a bit, added some twine over some new copper ribbon.

It's all one layer, but hope it looks a bit 3-D ?
Might need a bit more practice......take a look at Barbara Gray from Clarity Stamps
for some much more professional projects.......

Hope the birthday boy liked it....he's very into his music....
are you still singing?....
"happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear...."

At Home With You

This is one of the first sets I got when the new Stampin' Up! Catalogue came out.
It's particularly good for christmas cards, which I haven't attempted yet, but I do have
those cute little wreaths, and mini tinsel at the ready....

I did however make one for a neighbour who kindly had us over for a party....

.....to thank her for their hospitality.

It was quite a while ago, so it's taken a long time to get round to posting it on my blog,
but it's also taken me a long time to post it through her door!

Talking of doors....can you imagine all the cute things you could hide behind this one....?

Here's one I did at class recently.....

...one of my lovely class mates did a slightly different one with the branch and hearts...

here's the original one, with 'relax' and a chilled glass added ....

have a good day whatever you are doing,
hope its something nice and chilled...

HAPPY Birthday Gorgeous

Hello
Today I'd like to share a card I saw on Pinterest,
you can see her original blog post here:

Paper Daisy Crafting

I liked it so much I've done classes, workshops, and made some of my own personal cards
using the same technique, and everyone I've shown seems to love it too!

For my version I cut out the letters I wanted, laid them on SU grid paper
(I use the grid paper for most things, its so useful for lining up, designing and so much more),
and stamped from about a third to half way down, using lots of little stamps from
Happy Birthday Gorgeous
in lots of bright colours

I embossed the background, added ribbon and sentiment,
and stamped inside too

I also added some new Stampin Up! glitter dots on this one

some were mounted on foam pads, some I cut multiple letters and glued them together
to make a faux chipboard look

You can use any stamps for this, ideally smallish ones, but even then you only see 'bits' of them

I just stamped randomly, spreading out the colours until I was happy with the overall look.

Do have a go, and hop over to Paper Daisy Crafting to see hers, and many more
lovely cards she has made.

Another relaxing card

Using the Colourful Seasons,
we die cut a circle, masked and made a background with a sponge brayer
(the sponge brayer is so simple, and leaves no lines)
using soft sky and sahara sand ink.

stamped some faux grass, and the deckchair frame.
stamped the deckchair canvas on some Colour Theory paper,
which made it look denim-like, cut it out and glued in place

Virtually a one layer card apart from the canvas and ribbon.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Although I made this card, I cannot take the credit for the idea.
Happy Birthday Gorgeous is a stamp set that has been full of surprises.
I have really enjoyed playing with the two-step images that are simple to use,
and the lovely sentiments with cute fonts, that are so so versatile.

I used soft blues, mauve's and greens, with just a few images from the stamp set,
and with a layout cased from Kim Fee, die cut a circle afterwards,
layering it up on foam pads.

I tied some silver thread around the top layer, and through the circle.

I think you will see a lot more of this set ;)

You Move Me Butterfly

So, I promised to show you the Butterfly.....

Here's how to stamp it......again slightly off perfect,
but it works just the same....and I still hadn't got my stamp-a-ma-jig out.

you can see the orange one has the tip of the tail on it....
this helped me figure it out........

I used some of the other fun elements in the set.......
and a happy accident was using the leaves as the "pull" tab

I think I made the pocket slightly taller, and it therefore didn't fit properly in the envelope.
This again got lots of wows and hows.....

Have a fabulous weekend

Happy June Rudolph Day

Happy Rudolph Day!

Sorry I've not been around much, lots going on,
including parents suffering the ravages of old age and ill health.
We can only do our best, and make the most of the time we have.

That's why I'm here to support one of my favourite monthly challenges,
because it helps me make some of the many christmas cards needed,
but also it's a chance to 'play' with like minded people, and share what we love.

so, without further ado, here's my entry this month.
Sorry it's those damn mice again, but this time with a pine cone twist.

There's the embossing folder to add background texture,
and the pine cone dies cut from copper foil
and gold glimmer paper to add interest and christmas bling!

Have a great day
