water pump

Want to see another diamond fold springy card?
No?
Too bad, Im gonna show ya anyhoo!

So this is how it started

Here's the topper,
and a separate piece with the wood grain for the greeting

back view, where I placed the greeting in the pocket

Front view (obvs)
inked around the edges to make it pop

with the greeting tucked in the back

see how I positioned the 'happy' so it peeked out

My neighbour liked this so much he phoned to thank me,
and to say it was sitting proudly on his mantle piece.
How nice and satisfying it is to have helped in
a small way to make someone's day.
I love crafting!

Enjoy your weekend

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!
To all the unsung heroes out there!
I am so lucky to have a wonderful Dad, AND a wonderful Dad-in Law,
to make cards for....

Here's one based on the 'Countryside' set....
torn, inked edges, and quite grungy...

This was based on 'The Open Sea'...
I offset two ovals to give the saturn-type ring,
and die-cut/punched the letters.
Two different styles, but which would you choose?

George

I had a lot of fun doing this one.
The background is created by inking up an acrylic block.
I over stamped some fave images in early espresso ink.
I then decided to add some more detail.....
I drew around the squares with a marker pen....
a purposely  squiggly line, to make it easy!
Then added some circles die cut from the petite pocket, and inked to match.
I inked the greeting with marker pens, to match the colours too!

Eggstra special card for an eggsceptional lady!

If any of you keep chickens, you'll like this one!
I coloured the stamp (Countryside) direct with marker pens,
similar to the egg-laying ladies in question!
The birthday banner is from Itty Bitty Banners,
added a button, topped with an extra larger pearl,
and some ribbon, tied with some crochet trim.

Here's another shot, with my latest bobbin lace project in view!
The card was for my lovely lace teacher from LoowooDesigns..

christmas robin.....

This one's for a friend, who's big day is 28th......
I always wonder if birthdays close to christmas are not as good,
because people are so 'wrapped up' with the festive season!
I'm sure their families must still make an effort.

I definitely struggle with creating their cards amongst all the mayhem!
I hope they still enjoy receiving them though.....

The Countryside set is perfect for this gardening, hunting, shooting, fishing kinda guy!
I even stamped his envelope this time ( I often forget this finishing touch!)
Here's another angle.....

I love using the Apothecary Accents dies...so elegant.
The paper is from the halloween set....not so you'd know that though!
I just loved the colours, and it helped me design the scheme......
old olive and cherry cobbler being two faves of mine.

Team day part 2

These are some more of what we got up to....
gosh we worked hard, didn't we?!

This is one of Sarah Piggott's.....isn't it fab!
I loved all the layers we did.
Affection Collection and Clockworks are the stamps used,
along with a cute ribbon slider...

This was my offering, using Countryside and Petite Pairs,
along with a cute pin from the Vintage Trinkets.
Two fab cards for men!

This is a gorgeous neutral card by Jan (twinksstamping.blogspot.co.uk).
We used the masking technique with Betsy's Blossoms stamp set,
adding some of the pearls and crochet ribbon.....very elegant.

Team day

It's about time I posted some of the things we did at one of our mini training days recently!

This is Liz, my lovely downline's design,
a lovely triangular card, featuring the ornament punch from Stampin' Up!
I'm afraid I ate her 'swap'!

Jan from Twinks Stampin made this yummy swap, containing hot choccie sachet!

This is one of Sarah's from Stampin Obsession
featuring the gorgeous snowflake die, and hot pink card!

This was my 'swap' featuring the Countryside stamp set from Stampin' Up!
I'll be back with more soon!

Countryside

Hiya
hope this finds you well....
I'm slowly recovering from a nasty cold virus....sniff sniff....
and thought I'd share this card with you.....
Stampin' Up! stamp set Countryside.....again!
I started off trying to use West Ham's colours....Dave's team....
(well, someone has to support them, don't they! teehee)
and was amazed to find this Orchard Harvest DSP had a Tempting Turquoise and Bravo Burgundy
included in it's miriad of lush colours that suited pretty well....
I then distressed some of the edges, decoupaged the fork and little bird,
and cut out a few leaves from the paper too...
This photo angle perhaps shows it off a bit better....
methinks I need to do a photography course maybe....if I had the time!
Anyway, I think this stamp set is brill for men's cards....
what do you think?

The sentiment uses that neat trick of punching out the same label,
cutting it in half, and making a mat background, to help the words pop.
I had to ink up the edges as well of course!,
because that always seems to help highlight the focal points.
Dave has an allotment, and with the autumn papers, I thought this made it very personalized,
which is what I love about making my own cards!

Uncle Jim & Aunty Pauline

Hiya
all the best laid plans.......
had a horrible cold virus, and feeling rubbish, so bit late as usual in sharing the latest....
sooooo many birthdays this month....
here's my lovely Uncle Jim's card....
Using Stampin' Up! stamp set Countryside, layered up using apothecary framelits dies,
with some well deserved gold stars, using merry minis punches...

Aunty Pauline's is the day before, but shows how my brain is non-functioning at the mo...
Used my fab new punch for the butterflies, some ribbon, and the same framelits.....
colours were dictated by the pretty design series paper...
will have to add details later....
I sooo wished I could see more of my lovely aunt & uncle....

Grandad

We are so lucky to be able to share Alan's Granddad's 92nd birthday!
He absolutely lives for his garden......growing vegetables is his passion,
and Alan and I are reaping the rewards of sharing his wealth of experience,
having lots of fresh veggies all year round....
The NEW stamp set 'Countryside' is perfect for all occasions, all genders...
and the embossing folder 'Woodgrain' goes with it perfectly.
Colours Cherry Cobbler, and Early Espresso...

Team Sarah

Hellooo!
Hope this finds you well, and not too soggy!
We were meant to tidy up our local wood today, but it was such an awful wet dark day!
Yesterday, however was f a b u l o u s!
I hosted a training day for Team Sarah,
our lovely leader Sarah Piggott.
We had such a lovely day catching up, swapping ideas, and doing make n takes....
my idea of a perfect day!
Here's my swap contribution that I made for everyone....
I used one of the new Stampin' Up! sets, Countryside.
The faux brick wall effect is just cubes of Crumb Cake card, inked around the edges,
and spritzed with the new smooch vanilla spray.
For the wooden 'fence' I used the Woodgrain embossing folder,
and for the 'trellis', I used Summer Silhouettes.
Colours used are Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Old Olive.
The spotty paper shape is one of the Apothecary dies.
The greeting used a couple of punches, word window and modern label.
I hope to be back very soon with some more posts,
to make up for my absence recently.
I've been soooo busy,
as I'm sure you have too!
