Bubble wrap a birthday

Here's another I did by wrapping bubble wrap
around a clear block to make a background.
I decoupaged the little bird from 'Simply Sketched'
a cute Stampin' Up hostess stamp.

I can't wait to experiment some more with the bubble wrap.
(watch this space!)

Stampin' Up! Baby Tees

I love happy post!
Here's a swap the lovely Liz sent me

This was a wheel stamp, that she removed from said wheel,
and made into a standard stamp.
Oh so cute, and a very soft blue, with white heat embossing,
( in case the photo doesn't show )
with a 'That's the ticket' in the corner.
The background is embossed with the polka dots folder.

Stampin' Up! For The Birds

You may have noticed this is a fave stamp set!

I recently got the new triangular punch from Stampin' Up!,
and had the idea of hanging flags from the 'lines' of the stamp.

Firstly I had to extend the lines with a marker pen,
so that they disappear off the ends of the card.

I then layered the flags so the sentiment would still show!
I also created a shadow under the post box with a marker pen

I then decided to do a bit of decoupage.....

Some people say they don't know what to do with a stamp....
........you can do soooooo much!

If you are ever stuck for ideas just ask me!

I might just dash off to the Snippets Playground......
I've used LOADS of snippets on this one!

cat yoga

I posted this on facebook,
and it got more hits than any of my cards!
So I thought I'd share it here....

Of all the places he could sleep!
If I tried that, I'd be in a heap on the floor!

Congrats woohoo

One of my Stampin' Up!  downline promoted recently,
so I sent her this card.....
Just for fun!
Giggle greetings and Gorgeous Grunge stamps,
and some pricking to make a border.
Well done SUE!

I used snippets to Woohoo!
so I'm off to the Playground
to see if the play bus is there....

Lip Balm Dresses

I made these little lip balm gifts,
using the Dress Up Framelits,
and a small box in between.
(you can just see the box lid far right)

I got the idea from FrenchieStamps.com.
Take a piece of card 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".
Score short side at 3/4, 1 1/2, 2 1/4, 3".
Score long side 3/4, 3 1/2, 4 1/4".
Reinforce folds, and cut:

These were my swaps at a recent play day.
These were made from lots of snippets,
so I'm off to the Snippets Playground with my wellies!

Rudolph Day in May

It's that time of the month again!
Time to join in Sarn's Rudolph Day,
where we are encouraged to make two Christmas cards!

Here's my first
CASE'd from LilybyGilly.wordpress.com
You probably can't see that the strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock is embossed...
......with snowflakes....
Then I thought it would look better with another layer
Much better don't you think?

So that's two more for the xmas pile!

Bubble wrap birthday

Oh how I love having the time for a proper 'play'!
I get covered in ink, my desk looks like a bomb's gone off,
but boy do I have fun!
I wrapped some bubble wrap around a clear block,
inked it up, and got this interesting textured background.
I then stamped the flower several times, cut and decoupaged it
(layered it up), added some Itty Bitty flowers and Rhinestones.
This was my Happy Post swap for May.

take some yarn....

..........take some yarn, or string, wrap it around a clear block,
ink it up, and what do you get?
A super background!
I need a bit more practice, but this was a lot of fun!
We then stamped the leaves, added the flowers,
all without the safety net of our stamp-a-ma-jig!
(well I might have cheated lol)
Liz brought us this gem (check her's out- it's better and so is the photo!).

embossing, fancy fold, Itty Bitty flowers,
all topped off with a bit of Sarn candy!

Simply Sketched

Here's one Jan helped us make,
and as usual there's more to it than meets the eye!
My execution wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed putting all the elements together.
It's a card on a card, with a closing flap,
secured by the circle medallion,
and in my case, the ribbon too!
Jan thought this was a 'joy fold' card,
and it certainly gave us joy making it!

Stampin' Up! Faux Tile

Sorry if you are 'tiled' out teehee,
but I really like this technique and was quite pleased with these cards,
which were simple, but effective,
better in real life as usual....

Mini faux tiles meet Summer Silhouettes

I hope you'll like this one courtesy of Sarn's talents,
it's another faux tile example, scored on a smaller scale.
The joy of this, is that it doesn't matter if your stamping is not perfect,
and by trying not to press too hard, the 'grout' lines are clearer.
I like the randomness of the stamping, and the colours.
This set Summer Silhouettes is one of my
all time favourites....it's soooo versatile....
ooooops versa'tile' teehee, I really did type that before I saw it!

Grab yourself a bargain!

Punch Art Lawn Mower

Here's one for a dear friend who actually LIKES/LOVES
cutting grass?!?! What's to like ?!?! I HATE it! teehee....

I looked at other examples of cards, so this is not my idea....BUT
I ended up designing my own 'mower'.
It's nothing like his, and not the right colour...
but that's where artistic licence comes in, eh what?!
Hope it brought a smile to his day....

Petite Petals and Banner Blast

This was a swap from Liz.
Love the cool soft hues, and embossed background.
The Petite Petal punch has been so popular it keeps going out of stock!
Those Banners are so versatile too.
I'll be back soon with more

Triple Easel

Another play day masterpiece by Sarn.
She patiently helped us make this interesting design....
it folds flat for posting, but we thought it might need instructions to go with it!
Such a classy look with the simple colours,
oh how I wish I could design like this....I still struggle with clean and simple.
The cute butterflies act as the stoppers to hold each folded easel up for display.

Happy Box

I thought it was about time I shared some projects from our last  play day.

First up is Jan's super gift of a box....
It has a drawer.....can you see it just ajar?...
it has an easel card on top,
held up by a cute clear button, with a circle of paper punched to decorate,
the gorgeous flower, flag, punched border band, and cute sentiment.

Phew! Isn't it just lovely!
(I chose the extra large picture option, so you could see it up close)

Stampin' Up! Splodge-tastic

I was floundering for a friends card,
and then saw one on www.Pootles.co.uk,
so here's my version.....

I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge ink splat in three colours,
Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding,
(don't they sound just yummy?!)
added the stamped butterflies from Papillon Potpourri,
the sentiment and a few Rhinestones

Hope you have a splodge-tastic day!

Big Boys....

.....and their toys!
I've seen this faux lego style of card done a lot,
so here's my take on it.
I took a square punch I had,
added circle punches that fitted,
and had a play!

For the Bird-man

Trying to show the versatility of this stamp set
For The Birds,
see yesterdays post if you haven't already!
This time I used the Woodgrain embossing folder,
and some Sarn candy or faux brads.

Bird Bath

'For The Birds'
is a stamp set I'd liked  since the Stampin' Up! catalogue came out.
It is so versatile.
This one I coloured with marker pens,
layered onto embossed card, sponged with gold shimmer spray.

Stampin' Up! Happy Day

Sorry, but here's another faux tile card.
I like this technique, can you tell?!
This time I cut my panel in half,
added ribbon through the middle,
upon which I hung the greeting.
