Clockworks for Dad

Happy Wednesday to you
It's turned into a wet one here,
but luckily I got lots done in the garden this morning :)

Welcome to my new followers,
thanks very much for adding me to your list.

If you'd like my page to pop up automatically,
then just add yourself  to the
'join this site' button on the right.
It costs you nowt, and means you won't miss my posts!

Anyhoooo, my Mum is one day older than my Dad,
so he's her toy-boy teehee,
and here's the card I made him.

You may remember this one I did recently
at Eileen Godwin's workshop,
she is such an inspiration!

I overworked that one when inking and blending,
and I don't have that stamp set,
whereas this one I probably under blended the ink,
but have this time retained the bright centre, so that's good.

There were other things I had to improvise,
such as using some liquid pearls squished on craft mat to make rings,
(I actually really like the texture it added),
and some white dots using my signo pen,
coz I still haven't got any masking fluid.

I added some wink of stella to the 'fob',
it must have splattered a bit, but that's ok.

Some fussy cutting, layering, added a brad,
and I was quite pleased, but would he be?

He said it was really good,
which was praise indeed,
so I think he liked it.

So more satisfying than buying cards, for me anyway.
Happy parents, and made with love.

Hope your day has been good too.
Much love to you all,
and thanks for visiting.

April Flower For Mum

Happy Monday!

I'm sharing a spring time card today,
that was designed by Jan, made and adapted by me,
because it seemed just perfect for Mum's Birthday.

We used the Irresistibly Yours DSP, inked with Pistachio Pudding,
Matted on a layer of PP card and Bow to match from a snippet of card.

It was originally like this below, with a different label.
My dilemma was, I had no white card that matched,
so I punched another Tag using a snippet of the DSP,
which I inked to match, adding the 'Mum' from another snippet.

I'm hopping over to the
Snippets Playground with this one,
(haven't been to play for ages!)

and also CanYouCaseIt,
CYCI#67
where the challenge is for a Mum,
and as Mother's Day has been and gone in the UK,
I hope this still counts!

Have a good week everyone!

April Rudolph Day Challenge

Hello peeps
luckily I had this one prepped at a club
where we had a decoupage day.

It's ages since I've done a 'proper' one!
We could choose any sheet,
so I chose the cute bears.

Just wish I'd put them on a red layer?
but hey ho, life's so tough at the mo,
I'm just happy to have another one made,
and to be able to enter another Rudolph Day Challenge!

Do try and pop over to Mo's blog and look at some of the cute cards there,

meantime

Butterfly Blues

Hello
and
Happy Birthday
to a lovely lady today.

I don't often get chance to post ON the day,
but here's one made with the FREE (oops, shouldn't have told her that!) vellum I got,
that's absolutely gorgeous!

Her favourite colour too,
all lovingly coloured in on the back,
and I coloured one in and fussy cut to lay on top.

Hope she had a fab sparkly day!

'Tis the silly season....

cats, contrary colours and christmas?

'Tis good to be silly sometimes!

This is all one layer.........I masked off top and bottom,
stamped the cats (red rubber), then the stars (photopolymer),
because I couldn't see thru to do it the way I wanted to.
I drew lines with black pen to accentuate the 'panel'.
I used Many Merry Stars and You Little Furball stamp sets,
and Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey inks.

Entering this into
52cct challenge

and
sketch challenge

and Merry Monday

Hope you have some fun today!

Fabulous You Shoe

Monday again!

Here's one to cheer up your day:

You may recall one I did for my little Sis recently?
This is a simpler version for a lovely lady.

Blackberry Bliss is just gorgeous, with the ribbon to match.
I inked the stamp with it too,
then added a touch of wink of stella
to add some sparkle to some of the detail.
A happy accident is that it blended with the ink,
even though it had dried overnight,
but gave a lovely subtle effect.

Have a good week,
whatever you are doing.

Tick Tock

Happy Sunday!

This was my fave from Eileen Godwin's workshop,
I think you'll see why.....

It's very dimensional, inky, full of detail, and
I don't think I can give this one away!

Here's what I came home with:

If you get the chance I would HIGHLY recommend Eileen's workshops!

Butterfly Bokeh

Happy Saturday!

Here's another lovely project from a workshop
I attended by the talented Eileen Godwin.

I've yet to mount it,
and I really need time to do some more,
because I'd love to do the Bokeh technique as a class.

I don't think anyone is sure how to pronounce it,
but it's an effect found in photography.

So here's what we did:

I'll share more another day......
must grab a seat in front of the tele now....
Arsenal are playing.........!

pink light bulb

Happy Friday everyone!

I had a 'light bulb' moment yesterday....

I was looking at my projects from Eileen Godwin's workshop,
and found that I had the beginnings of a 'kill two birds with one stone'.
Who ever thought of that saying?!

I needed to finish off,  ie mount my light bulb, stencilled in pink,
covered in wink of stella, and outlined in gold.

I also wanted to try and stamp with some pink mica powder and some
luminarte-in-a-little-jar stuff that you mix with water.
I got a lovely shimmery effect for the background,
but alas my photography skills are lacking.....

I quite liked how the added gold twine looks a bit electric!
Obviously had to mount it on Melon Mambo!
Black has become a fave mount too thanks to Eileen and Sarn.

So, at the same time it fulfills an agreement I had with
some pals, to enter a challenge called

 ******Pretty in Pink******

Job done!

Have a great weekend

Eileen Godwin

Morning all!

I thought it about time I shared some of the
gorgeous creations we made at a recent workshop with

oops!
whilst I know that snails do climb up walls and windows,
to save you getting a sore neck....
(pops off quickly to rotate pic!)....

Some simple watercolouring, and fussy cutting the snail,
I just wish I'd mounted it better!

Hmmmmm might have to do a nice background, cut it off
and mount it again......

Another 'light bulb' moment......(get it?!) (sorry!)
I got another one un-mounted as yet.....just had an idea....

I'll be back!

p.s. you may not be able to see, but we outlined some 'splodges'

Snow?

Morning all!

It's snowing here!
Or is it?!

It certainly looked like it!

But no, it's just our magnificent cherry tree!

Well, it is lovely, but it does cause problems too!
It spreads rather too easily,
and one year a massive branch fell onto the drive,
and we couldn't get to work!

I love this time of year though,
Spring is sprouting everywhere!

Have a good week

Mini Treat Bag

Hello again

I had to play with my new treat bag die!
You get so many extras with it.
It looks expensive at first, but there's loads of extras,
it's going to be a top favourite!

I cut a banner shape with one of the dies,
added the 'for you' onto the vellum window,
adding some cute pompom trim,
to make this bag/envelope

The left over banner, was cut in half and stuck under the simply created topper.
'Just for you' was stamped separately and placed on top.
Balloon Bash is going to become a go-to set,
especially for the boys!

Have a great weekend!

Sheer Perfection Vellum

I was so pleased to have got this free gift during sale-a-bration.
It is the most delightful vellum, that has different designs.

I couldn't resist getting the Treat bag die,
following an awesome training day recently,
which also inspired these colours of
basic grey, hello honey, and mossy meadow,
with a bit of lost lagoon too.

Luckily there is two sheets of each design,
so there was enough to make these treat bags,
that can also be used as an envelope.

I used Painted Petals for the card inside.

These were my swaps at a recent play day.

Thanks for stopping by

Make 'n' Take

Hello again, thanks for visiting,
I REALLY DO appreciate it.

Had an awesome play day recently,
this was my offering as a 'make n take'.

Well, the box didn't 'take'  much to 'make' lol,
as it's one of the kraft gift box sets from Stampin' Up!
However, sometimes it's nice to do simple,
and here we simply decorated it!

Stamped all around the base while still flat.
(you do need to make sure it's the right way up!)
Cut a strip of DSP to make a belly band,
added a stamped label, and some ribbon.

Perfect spring colours, mossy meadow, and hello honey!

Hope you visit again soon!

CAS Congrats

I shamelessly cased this from Dawn Olchefske.

I just love the simplicity, and it just so happened,
I'd got the stamp set for free,
and I recently bought the framelits
Deco Labels

I really should go to photography lessons!,
the colours are blackberry bliss, cream and gold.
Rather than just keep a sketch of this,
which is never quite the same,
I made one to keep for future ref.

Feathered Friends

I just had to share one of the birthday cards I received.
I know I shouldn't have favourites.
I was a very lucky girl to have received some lovely, lovely cards,
and I am extremely grateful, and appreciate every single one,
but there's just something about Ros's....

The feather, top, second from left, is white heat embossed.
The stamp is a tad smaller than the die, so you get that lovely 'frame'
around the stamped image.
The vellum panel and feather, and the ribbon,
adds luxurious detail.

Thank you to everyone who took the trouble, to send,
and make, some lovely cards.
I will endeavour to show some of the hand made ones another day.

Happy BIG Birthday

Happy Birthday to a very special person!

A BIG Birthday deserves a special card,
so here's what I made

I rarely do big cards, this is 8" x 8"

With a LOT of layers,
whisper white, blackberry bliss and brushed gold

I coloured in all the detail using some old glittery pens,
and decoupaged some elements

This is the inside....I was aiming for a 'square',
but this is how it turned out,
added a few random butterflies.
You may notice I've added 'sister' inside.....well my sis's are my friends too,
so artistic licence, plus I love the sentiment and
didn't want to spoil the front!

Then because it was so bulky, especially with the double coordinating ribbon,
I had to make a box.....that'll teach me to go OTT!!!!

Let's hope she liked it, coz it took nearly a day to make!
I did enjoy it though, and was quietly pleased...
wish you could see it in real life....

By the way, stamp set Fabulous You retired,
AND I had to borrow it from one of my lovely friends!

Easter Eggs

Happy Easter Sunday!

I hope you have lots and lots of chocolate today!

Here's just some of the little gifts I made

I also helped do this as a project at a lovely craft club,
where the ladies came up with lots of ideas.

Edited to add that I got this idea from Sarn HERE
who in turn cased from
Bronwyn at AddInktive Designs

Here's my guilty secret.....

I did drop a rather BIG hint for a certain type of egg......
However, I made him the teeeeeeeny green box one,
(bottom left)
with lots of hearts on, made with LOTS of love!

As I'm such a lucky girl,
I have offered to share with him one of my bunnies!

I hope you have a lovely Easter Sunday

Swaps to delight

I've some catching up to do on here,
and I'm sharing stuff from about a month ago,
but it's worth waiting for!

Swaps from a recent team play day,

first up from Jan:

A beautiful box that holds tealights

This lovely poppy card from Liz:
using the spotlight technique

Then this cute 'slice of cake' from Ros,
who sadly doesn't blog,
but let me know if you have any questions for her.

I often show her work, she sells cards locally,
and has managed to pin some art on pinterest.

This box was from a template she bought,
and contains some choccies!

I am so lucky to have these talented ladies amongst my friends.

Here's all three

Mine was this card I shared aaaaaages ago!
I used the free Irresistably Yours DSP,
showing 4 different techniques.

I hope you have a fab weekend
