Pines on the horizon

 Hi there

Happy Belated Rudolph Day ......only a day late which is a minor miracle.

Do join the Rudolph Day Challenge if you can,

it's a great way to get inspiration and motivation to get your xmas cards made.

I've been having lots of fun with the New Horizons DSP.
It's 6 x 6", so a great size, and you get multiples so you can design so many things.

I've been designing class projects, but was itching to do a xmas version.
This sheet was cut into four 3 x 3" pieces.
I stamped some trees from In the Pines, added the ickle deer, and dotted some snow with a white pen.
Mounted it onto standard card base and added the simple sentiment.
Ideal for a male or a thinking of you...

Watercolour Window

 Hello again

Today's card was inspired by Gail Ellis,

using the Welcoming Windows Bundle, In the Pines and Fireside Trimmings.

The Balmy Blue topper was embossed with the Tasteful Texture embossing folder.

The view out of the window used the trees from In The Pines, and a watercolour wash.
The deer (*Animal) was stamped, die cut and coloured with crumb cake.

The photo above was in direct sunlight, not as good as the first one do you agree?

I'm linking to the following challenges....Apologies I had trouble trying to share their pictures...

Watercolour with die cuts

 Hi there

I came across this technique that I have never tried before (that I can remember, anyway)

Using die cuts to make a watercolour background.

I happened to have In The Pines Stamps and Pine Wood Dies on my desk, whilst making up kits for class.

I was surprised to find there were a few Blog Challenges I could enter, so I gave this technique a go.
I put some ink and water on a Stamparatus plate, swooshed it about a bit with a tree die,
and made 3 inky background trees.
I then stamped and die cut one of the trees, and stamped my deer (Dashing Deer).

I used Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral for the watercolour trunks, and Terracotta for the deer.
The picture above was taken in glorious sunshine today......albeit a bit cold outside.

I hope you'll give this a go?
Meantime I'm entering the following.......

(Apologies to the above if I've missed or broken any rules )

Have a good weekend

North Pole Wonder in The Pines

 Hello again,

I wanted to use these sets for a non christmas card....North Pole Wonders and In The Pines.

The Perfectly Plaid Papers are great for fun and masculine cards,

as well as for christmas.

There's a sneak peek at the new Curvy set due out soon, which I used to cut a border,
(with small holes that can be used to pass thread through for a stitched effect).
I stamped a tree on white and spruce card stock, adding them and the stag
to a stitched circle also cut in white.

I added some twine and sparkly enamel dots (men can enjoy sparkle too :))
I hope I've shown these are not just for christmas.

Enjoy your day
