I’ve a few today…..with lots of oops!

Hi there, I’ve a few to share today….this is my favourite,

as I did have some problems along the way….

You can see I was a bit off the mark stamping the infill..

Here was another attempt which wasn’t much better.

I did finish them off because it created an unintended highlight.

I even tried stamping the infill before the outline, still not much better.
Maybe the light wasn’t good, and I know my eyes are getting worse. (cataracts)

The next one was my least favourite, even my fussy cutting wasn’t good.
I was probably rushing it too, as time was short.

Enjoyed using up some old foiled plaid papers…

I’m hoping someone will appreciate them!

Have a great weekend

Lesley

Watercolour with die cuts

 Hi there

I came across this technique that I have never tried before (that I can remember, anyway)

Using die cuts to make a watercolour background.

I happened to have In The Pines Stamps and Pine Wood Dies on my desk, whilst making up kits for class.

I was surprised to find there were a few Blog Challenges I could enter, so I gave this technique a go.
I put some ink and water on a Stamparatus plate, swooshed it about a bit with a tree die,
and made 3 inky background trees.
I then stamped and die cut one of the trees, and stamped my deer (Dashing Deer).

I used Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral for the watercolour trunks, and Terracotta for the deer.
The picture above was taken in glorious sunshine today......albeit a bit cold outside.

I hope you'll give this a go?
Meantime I'm entering the following.......

(Apologies to the above if I've missed or broken any rules )

Have a good weekend

Dashing Deers

Hi there
I hope this finds you well.
Hopefully you're not totally fed up with christmas,
as I'm here to share just a few more cards!
Promise not many more!
These were large family cards, using the lush DSP that has copper, gold, silver foil detail,
as well as many pretty patterns....

So, I got out my heat gun and embossed some of the Dashing Deer to match.

The added ribbon gives a luxurious finish

It's been hard to photograph as a) it's  shiny foil, b) it's been so dull outside!

Hope your weekend is shiny, not dull :)
Have a good one

Blue Blizzards and Baubles with a Dash of Deer

Hi there
I'm here with a Bundle of Blue .....blue goes so well with the Beautiful Blizzard Bundle
A similar layout with vellum, as in a recent post, but with blue instead of grey.

Heat embossed with white and silver and Iridescent Ice, topped with glittery ribbon

Last year I bought these silver sparkly Reindeer.......they're quite large!
I coupled them with a tag and tied them on gift bags.

I even found a matching bag in my stash......do you recycle bags and stuff?
I recycle A LOT......it always comes in handy one day!

I also bought some packs of baubles, that I used on this special parcel

A matching tag and some white ribbon, I was quite pleased with this.
Until I realised two baubles weren't quite right, so I added a third ;)
much better :)

Have a great weekend..........
ONLY 3 MORE SLEEPS!

Dashing Deer pillow

For my recent class we decorated some of the SU boxes...
Gable, Bakers, Pillow, and Santa Sack (see previous posts)

the box below was inspired by Kim Fee of Simply Fairies at her Retreat,
and the Pillow Box was one of the many gifts we received.

We loved using the vellum, stamped and heat embossed with white powder.
The Dashing Deer was backed with Mistletoe Punched sprigs.

Have a great weekend

Dashing Deer

Hello again!
I might not be posting as often, but I'm trying to make up for it with content.
So I'm here again with lots of pics on a theme, this time with truly dashingly handsome
Dashing Deer.

We did some inky background making at a recent workshop.
There was quite a lot of masking and sponging of ink going on.
Some of them used a shaped aperture, and a hill made from scrap paper.

The snowman was masked, so I could ink the sky over him.

The next one I masked the large deer....he is amazing....
the stamp looks two-tone, even though stamped once in one colour.
The moon is another mask, a circle cut from a sticky note.

The one below used Lovely as a Tree, stamped and heat embossed with white powder.
I then inked over the top, made some hills, and buffed off the trees after.
Spookily I noticed Amanda Bates from thecraftspa.blogspot.com
must have been making similar cards around the same time,
so I'm delighted to share a link to her detailed tutorial HERE.
Do put her blog on your reading list as she makes lovely things,
and often shares her tutorials for free,

Here's some close-ups, not all of them good!
I like how gently inking the bottom of the aperture finishes off the illusion.
I hate how I can see the horizon through his neck!
Below that, I should never have stamped the little deer!
I do like putting white dots with a gel pen.

I tried highlighting  the moonlight on the deer, not in a good way, needs some work.
I do like leaving a paler "glow" around the moon though.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend.
