May Rudolph Day

I’ve hardly made any cards for Christmas this year, but I did use up some old bits ‘n’ pieces recently.

This is another card from that session.

An under used SU set, it cuts out a poinsettia and leaves,
behind which I carefully placed some different coloured scraps of glitter card,
adding a stitched oval die cut sentiment.

I’m joining in the new Allsorts challenge #824, where they are celebrating their 16th birthday,
and offering some fantastic prizes. They make it very easy to be creative with an “anything goes” theme.

We took my sister out yesterday to a local “garden safari”.
I’m not sure if this is just a UK thing? I’d be interested to know 🤔
People kindly open their gardens to the public in aid of a charity or local fund raiser.
There were six gardens open, all different, looking very pretty, with great ideas to take home.
There was also a tea garden with lots of cake, so that was literally with icing on the cake. 😂
The weather was good, and we met some lovely people.

Thanks for taking the time to visit, and I really appreciate your comments

Take care and see you soon

Lesley

Pink Poinsettias

 Hi there

more poinsettias, sorry!.....

three large ones, stamped and die cut

a fussy cut greeting, and sparkly banner, with a few added rhinestones.
Possibly inspired by Kylie Swain of blossomdesigns

Then the sun came out...

Does it look different colours? or just more shadow?.....

Take care

Merry Melody in the pink

Inspired by some of the pink xmas cards being made this year,

I embossed white card using Merry Melody 3-D Embossing Folder,

then die cut some vellum leaves and flowers

black dots for the centres, and a banner greeting (love this large one)
inspired by Tracy Elsom of papercraftwithme.

This one uses an old  holly embossing folder, an Encircled in Beauty die cut,
and fussy cut sentiment.

I'm liking the pink, are you? Or do you prefer traditional colours?

Encircled in Beauty

 Hello again

Have you ever missed an exciting product from the Stampin' Up! Catalogue?

Quite often when I share projects with friends they comment they didn't see it in there.

I haven't had the same amount of time to browse the current catalogues for some reason,

and I only discovered these pretty Encircled in Beauty dies when I studied a card by Gail Ellis.

After furthering investigations, I decided I need these in my craft room.
Firstly I made a z fold card..........again using my snippets mountain
(it is getting smaller you'll be bored pleased to know )

Yep I even fussy cut the small branches :)
I stamped the sentiment one of the circles

Next up I used one of the larger die cut circles

with more paper and snippets, plus twine and metallic gems.
I always encourage people to use their ribbons, gems etc to enhance their projects.
It's also an excuse to buy more!

Finally today, and embossed background (love the 3-D ones)
with another die cut circle and that gorgeous stag

There's loads of dies in the set, I haven't  played with them all yet.
All different sizes, they are sooooo useful.
The detail is amazing, but they're also easy to cut.

Take care

Soft hues from a TV show

 Hello again

another quick share from that snippets pile, but this time I start with a different colourway.

I was watching an upcycling TV show, of all things, and was drawn to a wallpaper they used which contained soft blues, browns and pinks.

I stamped the background (I think I'd use less next time), added the little flowers from my stash,

and blending some ink on the large flower, also from my snippets pile.

Two more from the pile (above), with some left overs strips of paper,
and another where the sprigs are also from the pile :)
This time backed with real red card, so added some red gems to match.

I decorated the envelopes again............stamped and strips of paper.
I'm finding that when I have more time I'm more frugal and using up those snippets.

I think I should enter the Snippets Playground challenge as I've been such a good girl!

Take care

Very Vanilla Poinsettia Place

 Hi there

I used Forever Fern here to create some more xmas cards,

inspired by Anne Granger of stampwithannie.com.

I used very vanilla (cream) for a change, and by using colours from the paper, stamped the leaves.

I added a left over strip to decorate the front of the envelope.

Below I attached a strip of paper to an embossed card blank, and added a small poinsettia.

I decorated the back of the envelope this time......from a strip of paper, glued to the back flap,
lining it up with the folded edge, then cut around the edge

Below are ready to post

I'm entering the

Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #414 -

Ruby's Memory

As I used lots of snippets of cream card to stamp and die cut ,
designer series paper strips, and the little flower

Take care

Snippets and Stags

Hello....a couple more quick cards using up my snippets, and left over die cuts, embossed pieces etc .

I'm sure you don't have piles like me eh?!

Apart from the backing paper, all were bits n pieces, including the gold and "wood" strips,

the flower centre ( I save the smallest of bits in little bags!)
and even the bit of trim.....that I frayed

I'm skipping over to the Snippets Playground HERE
Do come join the fun and share your snippet busting projects!

Take Care

White velvet Poinsettias

Today's card uses some spare white velvet poinsettias, die cut from some speciality paper.

The sprigs, flower centres, banner and sentiment were all unused bits in my snippets pile.

The embossed red card was also unloved, but too good to throw.....I knew I'd use it one day ;)

It’s time I entered Rudolph Day challenge, do pay Mo a visit as there’s some fabulous inspiration.

Using up my snippets mountain

Hi there, we went away recently and I was fortunate to be able to take some crafting with me.

I decided to take some unfinished projects, and a stack of snippets, some of which were so tiny but perfect for die cutting small embellishments.

This card evolved from unused sentiments, layered poinsettias and snippets of card,
including the gold strip, and the striped one.
I don’t throw strips away, as they can always be used for something.

It's a good way of using up scraps, especially of expensive card and paper.......die cut them,  using all those little dies.....they'll come in useful one day!
Below are just a few of the snippets left over.
I really enjoyed putting cards together on the hoof using just scraps of paper and card,
it's a great way to get the creative juices flowing.

I’m entering the

Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #412

where there's super prizes, and lots of ideas to use up those snippets !

Snippets of Paper

I was lucky to book an online class with Kim Fee,

and she kindly shared a few extra card designs made using snippets of paper.

The Daisy one above uses squares of scrap paper,
with the sentiment and daisy also cut from snippets,
then wrapped in twine.

Below is a christmas one using rectangles of paper snippets,
with a fussy cut poinsettia fussy cut from a snippet of watercolour paper,
that has had wink of stella added for subtle sheen

I'm going to enter the Pixie's Snippets Playground, I just hope Miss Di lets me in,
as I've been playing truant for such a long time, and I can't wait to see Dudley do his new trick.
Do visit Di's blog, it's full of lovely ideas to use up those snippets.

Take care

Peaceful Poinsettia

Firstly, apologies, as I think I've shared some things twice.
I haven't completely lost the plot, but have been very fuzzy headed with a cold.
I'm pretty sure I haven't shared these yet.

I made these pretty cards at Kim Fee's Retreat
( she's having more Retreats in the new year, so check them out HERE )

white card on white is always popular, such a clean fresh look

It was a great way to use the stamp set in different ways

that was one of my favourite sentiments from all the stamp sets

we fussy cut and decoupaged some elements

I may batch bake some of these for next year.....which is ok if, like me, you have a bad memory!
I hope this inspires you to use your sets in different ways

Dashing Deer pillow

For my recent class we decorated some of the SU boxes...
Gable, Bakers, Pillow, and Santa Sack (see previous posts)

the box below was inspired by Kim Fee of Simply Fairies at her Retreat,
and the Pillow Box was one of the many gifts we received.

We loved using the vellum, stamped and heat embossed with white powder.
The Dashing Deer was backed with Mistletoe Punched sprigs.

Have a great weekend
