Reflection of Lovely as a Tree from Stampin' Up!

I have waited a long time to get this set,
but I absolutely adore it.
It is so very versatile.

Here's one I made using the 'reflection' technique

I stamped the tree-scape in green,
then stamped it on acetate in blue, laid it on my card,
then gently rubbed over it to transfer the ink.

This technique can be used in lots of ways,
but works particularly well for watery or snow/ice reflections.

If you have a friend who is sad,
or going through a tough time,
send them a card.......just so they know you care ...
Lots of Love

Stampin Up! Lovely as a Tree for xmas

I shared this card the other day
where I'd used Lovely as a Tree
in Island Indigo and silver embossing powder .....

But I also made this one,
where I used Pool Party embossing powder,
then Irridescent Ice over the top,
and then inked a frame around the tree scene
using a mask.
We also did this in one of my classes
where we stamped onto scrap paper,
cut along the horizon,
and used sticky notes to make the frame.

Here's a close-up

I found this idea on Pinterest....where else?!

Rudolph Day June

I made this one using Lovely as a Tree, embossed a silver one,
and added a That's the Ticket tag

.....Then I saw this other cute card by .....oh poo I forget so will edit later!

This is oh so simple to do.....
Punch/die cut a scallop circle, punch a dotty embossed circle,
add a strip of silver glimmer, cut to shape,
add punched star and tree....done!

So that's another one for the xmas pile!

(edited to say:  Connie Stewart of www.simplysimplestamping.com)

These are for Sarn's wonderful Rudolph Day Challenge.....

Broad Beans

Alan had a bumper crop of Broad Beans this year.
Trouble is, I only like them skinned.
I can't tell you how many hours we've spent podding, blanching and skinning.
Then a friend told me you can freeze them, and then skin them before cooking,
so some have gone in the freezer with their skins on.

That'll teach me to be fussy with my food!
It's worth it though in my opinion,
they taste so much sweeter.

Is there any food you are fussy about?!

Father's Day

Here's what I used for my Father's Day Cards.....

Some photocopy paper, a Brayer, Ink, Circle mask, Dauber, and a stamp!

I used my computer for the verses, and laid down the background with the ink.
Both were very different....
Then I decided to add some colour with marker pens,
by just 'dotting' different colours all over the leaf areas

The bottom one is before it was coloured.....

Here's the finished cards

I hope you have had a good weekend!

Stampin' Up! Swallowtail

I was lucky to have literally a 'play day' recently
with some fellow Stampin' Up! devotees.
Jan showed us how to use a secret ingredient to blend inks more easily.

I don't know if you can see, but on the top right I also tried some faux bleaching.
If you have no idea what I'm twittering on about, then rest assured
I will be re-visiting and sharing these techniques,
or come to one of my classes, and I will show you!

Here's a blended ink version I sent to a friend.

Golf card in a box

Sorry if you are fed up with my cards-in-a-box!
I just love them,
they are great for all ages, and all themes too!

This is using an old fave stamp set,
and again I cut some 'grass' to hide some golf balls in,
and added some sentiments on other 'balls'

I did some paper-piecing and decoupage on the figure.
I just LOVE how you can do so much
with just some card ink and stamps!

Thanks so much

Another delightful card from Jan,
using Petite Petals, (which she waited for, for such long time!)

Four Frames form the sentiment,
and little details like the butterfly, layered flowers and rhinestones,
make it an elegant little card mounted on one of our notelets.

Tag delight

To cheer your Monday blues....
here's a gorgeous Tag made by Jan
She used natural designer series paper,
Flower Shop stamp set with a few leaves and butterflies,
and obligatory bling.
Trust me, in real life it's awesome!

Special Delivery

It's been a butterfly bonanza,
and a feast of delights from Liz recently.

Here's a lovely card she helped us make,
with subtle dry embossing background,
coloured in flower centres, and butterfly embellishments.
Wisteria Wonder is a very pretty subtle colour that
really doesn't show up in the photo sadly.

Butterfly easel

Another cute offering from Liz
is this cute Butterfly Easel card

It's a mini card that's great for gift tags,
thank you's, place settings etc.
Love the detailed embossing and pearl embellishments.

Butterfly decoration

This was a stunning hanging decoration by Liz.
I believe this Butterfly die is retiring,
but if you are lucky enough to have it,
this shows it's not just for cards.
The larger ones are 'corrugated',
and the smaller ones from newsprint.

Stampin' Up! Swallowtail

I have a cousin who is an artist,
and he recently shared a friend's work
that inspired me....

My immediate thought was 'Gorgeous Grunge'
-well, I am Stampin' Up! obsessed!

I loved the way the detail gave way to splodges,
giving the merest hint of the actual shape.
(Believe me, the detail on this drawing is awesome!)

I then tried 'Swallowtail' to create a similar effect.....
I inked up part of the stamp,
cut out a mask of the butterfly shape,
and randomly stamped some 'splodges'
to fill in the shape.

Here's my finished card
that I kept very simple

card in a box golfballs

My lovely Nephew who loves golf had his Birthday
So I thought I'd try another card-in-a-box!

Here's how it folds flat.....
I tried to photograph it a few ways....
Made a flag out of paper and card
 Cut some'grass' from green paper,
and tucked in some 'golf balls'

Added some balls on acetate so they appear to float

Stamped some with various sentiments
and had to mention his other favourite hobby
beer!

Happy Birthday Matthew!

Happy Day

Here's a quick easy card
using Happy Day from Stampin' Up!
I stamped the doily-like image a few times
without re-inking in between.
This gives a graduated faded look,
that works really well for backgrounds.
The sentiment is perfect for that note-let you need in a hurry!

Six sided Sampler from Stampin' Up!

Here's one I cased from Juliesstampintime.com
I liked this one so much when I saw it,
I had to rush off and make it immediately!
Does that ever happen to you?!
It really doesn't show how pretty it is in the photo.
(I know we always say that, but it's true!)

I used Crumb Cake card, which is similar to kraft card.
I stamped and punched the hexagons in Marina Mist and Melon Mambo.
The butterfly was stamped with white craft ink,
but it didn't show very well,
so I went over it with my white gel pen.
Some rhinestones add a bit of sparkle.
