Dress in a box

How lucky was I to RECEIVE this gorgeous card!

I've shared this card in a box type project with quite a few friends now.
One of them is such a clever card maker,
as you can see for yourself!

You will have to come visit, if you want to see it in real life.
It is the most lovely soft green, and is oh so pretty.

Here's another view, but my photography does not do it justice.

Hope your week is going ok.

wishing you well

Hiya, if any of you are feeling poorly,
or just a bit under the weather, this one's for you.

I love this new SU stamp set Pictogram Punches.
It is going to be sooooo useful.

I fussy cut the vase, to decoupage it, using foam pads.
Luckily there is a fab little Itty Punch for the flower....
soooo cute!, so I did the same with them,
and added rhinestones to the centres.

Lots of snippets used here again,
so I'm off to play in the Snippets Playground.

Wish Big

Here's another box card, using a retired stamp that is very useful,
especially for men's cards.

I used lots of snippets on this,
especially for all the little banners,
so I'm going to see if I can get into the Snippets Playground.

I hope you are having a good week.

Snap!

Ok, I know this happens sometimes,
but this just seemed really funny!

He got one from his parents, one from my parents,
one from his Aunty, the a fourth from his cousin!

I'd already taken the photo, before the fourth turned up!

Hmmm maybe I could do some decoupage with them.....!

Rudolph Day July 2014

I love Sarn's Rudolph Day Challenge.
It means I can make a couple more cards to put in my stash for xmas.

My lovely friend gave me a couple of cute stamped images,
which I decided I really should use,
before they got lost forever.

Here's the first cute bird....

I got out some old SU paper, matted the image on red card,
and coloured him in, adding glitter to his hat.

The second one, I did in slightly different red and green,
but using the same papers..

This time I added faux stitching, and inked the edges.
Then I filled the 'white space' with little groups of 3 dots.
This is meant to make the eye focus on the main image,
instead of being distracted by any blank areas.

Do hop over to the Rudolph Day Challenge,
to see all the lovely projects.

P.S. I've also entered the Snippets Playground, as I used loads of snippets on these!

You're How Old ?

Teehee.....

My Toy Boy had his Saga day today.....

I used my trusty stamp a ma jig quite a bit for this one.
Coloured in and decoupaged the balloons.
Stamped and punched the banners.
Stamped and fussy cut the cake.
The sentiment was a stamp die cut with framelit.
Letters also die cut.

This morning I stubbed my toe,
went to get some ice from the freezer,
shut my finger in the door,
and so ended up with two ice packs!

That'll teach me for taking the mickey out of his age!
Have a good weekend!

Spotlight Technique with Corner Garden

Here's some 'happy post' I sent recently.

The background stamp is Corner Garden,
which is gorgeous.

I stamped it again on some spare card,
punched out a circle, coloured it in, and mounted it on Dimensionals (foam pads).

The sentiment is from Bloom With Hope.
The mat behind is the same punched shape, cut in half,
and spread apart to create the illusion of a bigger layer underneath.
(Hope that makes sense?!)

Happy Friday

Bloom with Hope

Here's a card we don't like to have to send,
but is strangely comforting to make,
because it enables us to focus on the departed,
and is a small token made with love for those left behind.

Susie was a lovely lady who was also a crafter,
and expert seamstress, and I am lucky to have some of her makes.

I chose these elements, because they seemed peaceful.
Hardwood is the background stamp,
the leaves are from World of Dreams,
and the sentiment is from Bloom With Hope.
Inks were Hello Honey and Memento black.

Itty Bitties

Sorry, but here's another one!

One of my favourite cartoons is Garfield,
so I do hope you are not muttering
"Monday' s coming, abort, abort" !!!
This time different flowers, including some new ones.....
can you see the little green ones?
Pictogram Punches stamp set, and a new Itty Bitty Punch!

Just to prove it's different.....
Above is the one I made earlier.

To prevent you nodding off with boredom,
I do have one more, so I'll show you it now.....

I hope you had a fab weekend,
and have lots of fun this week!

I'm sorry if you are bored with the card in a box,

This is another short fat one!
Does anyone know who invented the first one?.....

card in a box full of pearls

Hello!
Where did that week go?!
I wish I'd scheduled some posts,
because I have sooo much to share,
but hey ho, such is life!

Back to the matter in hand.....
I call this the short fat one
(the card, that is, although it describes me too lol!)
as opposed to the tall thin one.....
like those on my last post.
The good thing, is that it is still half of an A4 sheet,
and it fits in a standard envelope = result!

Hope you likey....

Papillon Potpourri, Flower Shop and Petite Petals,
with the matching punches,
stamped in inks to match the DSP
(pretty paper....or Designer Series Paper to be exact)
with lots of added pearls.

I do hope you are keeping cool?!
We are not used to this heat,
and it's times like this I wish we had a pool to plunge into!

A dear friend once told me that if you keep windows shut,
and curtains closed, the room stays cooler......
it's true, but I still find it hard to do!

I hope this finds you well wherever you are.

Card-in-a-box

I had a lovely day yesterday with my friends at Tonbridge Lace Group

I helped some of them make a 'card in a box'
that is so popular this year.
Mine is an A5 size that fits in a standard envelope.

Here's some pics:

They were all different.....sorry pics not great.....
and they went on to atempt an A5 lenghtwise....
more on that another day!

We used the 'Colour Coach' to come up with some cool colourways!

They were all pretty,
and best of all I think they all enjoyed it!

Special 50th!

I really love these framelits and stamp set for special occasions,
I found some fun bright papers, punched some 'bunting',
and added a teeny banner and some card candy.

It was also loosely based on the Irish flag colours of green, orange and white.
Everyone loves cake and sundaes right?!

I'm looking forward to doing a workshop at the
Lace group I go to tomorrow.....
so I hope to be back with some pics!

Scallop Tag box

This box is way more cool in real life!
Sarn helped us make this....
first we cut and prepped the box template,
then we stamped to decorate.....

WE then used the new Tag punch to shape the ends,
and the really cool thing about this punch is that it cuts the ribbon holes too!

Punched flowers with card candy centres finish it off a treat!
Now I just need to hide something inside!

Hope you are having a good week
lots of love

A box for you...

Here's a cute little box Sarn helped us make recently

What I love about this one, is that it's all-in-one,
ie the lid is attached.
We decorated it simply with some labels.
This is one I shall re-visit often, as it can be easily re-sized
to fit lots of cool gifts!

Cute box

Here's a cute box made by Jan from some speciality paper

The embellishment is a Petite Petals flower punched and shaped.

And inside.....

The cutest little wooden ornament that she stamped with a sentiment,
heat embossed with sparkly powder,
and adorned with some more Petite Petals.

Ladybird

Here's another cute project from Liz
 A cute Ladybird card....

Lots of embossing.....woodgrain for the background,
dotty leaves, cute buttons,
all put together with some clever ways of using our ordinary punches......
circles and the antennae are bird punch branches!

Ladybirds are our gardening friends, so I love this one!

Flower Shop swap

Hiya
hope your weekend has gone well.
We had a lovely bike ride in the rain.....
and arrived home just in time to see the sun shine lol!
At least our bikes dried out on the way home!

To cheer your day here's a lovely swap from Liz

She's used Stampin' Up! Dictionary, Flower Shop,
and a swirl to add the punched out flowers to,
then added some pearls....so pretty!
Have a good week
lots of love

Smile....

Hiya
hope you're weekend is going well.

I seem to have had lots of sad news,
so I thought I'd share a swap from Sarn that says SMILE,
It's a cute gift, tea-bag style, using pretty Designer Series Paper

This made us all smile, as it contained a snack bar :),
a fruit tea bag :), and a little card :).......
Oh poo I forgot to take a pic of the card,
but if you hop over to Sarn sometime, she might have one ....

Sarn always makes us smile.....
so if you are feeling a bit down, give thanks for our friends who make us smile
:)

My June Swap

I had a lovely day recently, sharing crafty time with some friends,
and this was the swap I made for them....

You may have noticed I've been using Lovely as a Tree a lot!
Well, this is another one using the often-overlooked leaf accents.

I used the new IN COLOUR inks,
by daubing them through a mask I'd made with a leaf on some copy paper.
(Was actually quite difficult, but they are worth it!)

I then laid down a couple of strips of the red (really sticky) tape,
and rubbed in some gilding flakes I've had for AGES and not used!
(Do you ever get that feeling?)

I mounted them on some black card,
which really shows them off
(better IRL as usual!)

Have a good weekend!
lots of love

It's here!!!!! The New Stampin' Up! Catalogue!

The Launch of the New Stampin' Up! Catalogue is here at last!

The new In-Colours are just GORGEOUS!

Here to prove it is one I made with
Lovely as a Tree, but this time with the leaves....

Jan shared a cool tip to help blend inks more easily.
Gently rub some GLYCERINE onto your card.....
this creates a moist oily layer that you can then sponge inks onto,
and blend them so much easier than on dry card stock.

I then stamped random leaves over the top,
after it had dried.

I also discovered, that if you leave it to dry,
you can repeat the process to intensify the colours.

Some of my colleagues are doing a BLOG HOP today
 to celebrate the new catalogue,
so please take a look if you get the time!

Enjoy your day!
lots of love
