Colorful Seasons

Hello again, hope this finds you well.
I needed a card for a neighbour who loves his garden, used to be our Footpath Officer,
and loves everything to do with the garden, sometimes relaxing with a glass of wine :)

I had an idea in my head.....didn't work out quite as planned (does it ever?),
but ran out of time to redo/make another, so here's the "how"....

I stamped the wall & gate from Cozy Cottage....
added the path using marker pens to ink the bits I needed.
The deckchair from Colorful Seasons was next (american spelling)......fussy cut the canvas of the chair, then made a drink ......(luckily there's a wee die) .
Used the marker pen to add bits of the grass from Cozy Cottage,
adding the longer grass from Wetlands in the same way.

My perspective is suspect, probably should have added some sky instead of the sheer hill lol,
but I just wanted to show how you can use bits from sets to make up a personalised picture.

He will of course have no idea how difficult it was, so I just hope he appreciates
I made an effort and that it was at least hand made :)

smooshing technique

Using Wetlands this time and continuing the watercolour technique class,
we took some shimmery white card,  and a piece of acetate,
upon which we splat some ink and spritzed with water.

This time we smooshed the acetate over the card, laying down the ink in gay abandon,
except again, some were too controlling and worrying too much about it.....
So we left it to dry, and then went on to stamp over the top,
and slowly they started to trust me (not!).

We laid down some watery old olive for the grass.
and for the control freaks (kidding!) we stamped and fussy cut
another goose to stick on top, so he looked all nice and white and pristine like
(not even sure how to spell that!)

They were ....relatively.... happy with their results,
but so as not to loose their interest completely......
we then did something completely different.....

Do you think I'm cruel putting them through all this trauma
of getting inky and arty?!

Trust me, you'll like the next one.......maybe....

Thankful for you by the water

Sunday Special
using the wading birds from Wetlands.

Liz helped us make this one,
using the tearing of the 'sand'....Sahara Sand card,
we sponged two blues for the background,
and Gorgeous Grunge helped us add texture to sea and sky.

Have a peaceful day

Wetlands Thanks

Here's a make n take by lovely Liz,

Wetlands was the stamp, with Gorgeous Grunge on the background.

It's one of those cute "inchies",
where you can cut an image into inch squares,
or just stamp onto pre-cut panels.

"Thanks" for stopping by
have a fab weekend

my swap

Well I was going to show my swap, but it seems I didn't take a pic,
so I'll show you that when I get around to showing you how to do the chevron folds.

I made them work on our play day!
I showed them how to do the folds on their 'swap', then later suggested we get a bit inky!

Using an acrylic block, I placed ink from two pads,
placed it on the card to make this background.
Sarn kindly let us play with her Wetlands stamp set
(which we all now 'need'!)

Then we tried the same method, but spritzing the block with water,
before placing it on the card.
Can you see the difference a bit of water makes?
I love experimenting and getting inky!
I also used the stamp-a-ma-jig to get a line of wading birds.....
Come back tomorrow and I'll show you a finished card using this technique.
