Team play day

Had a lovely day 'working' with some team mates today!
We all make swaps, and prep a make n take for each other,
fulfilling the 'Love what we do, and share what we love' motto of Stampin' Up!

So I will now share some of our ideas with you.
Here's my swap, a tag made from Coaster Board,
using Festive Flurry, and Special Season.

I added some bling with Rhinestones and silver glimmer paper
(mainly for Jan who couldn't join us today :( ! )

I'll be back!

Giggles

Hiya, hope all's well where you are...
sharing a card made with Giggle Greetings....
had fun with this cheesy greeting....
used blue and yellow papers from an old stack....
bit of paper piecing with the cheese....punched lots of holes...
needed more colour.....
so discovered if I punched circles in a different colour, I could layer them into the holes left behind...
even managed to line up the stripes!
Added a bit of glitter to the candle....had lots of fun with this one!

Class projects

Hiya, hope you've enjoyed the long weekend.
Here's a couple of projects we did in our last class

On the left a simple pouch card to hold tickets....
or gift card, money etc...
I used Clockworks, That's the Ticket and Chalk Talk.
On the right is a post-it note holder...
using Chalk Talk again, the Butterfly punches, and A Round Array.
Ideal as small gifts.

Sympathy

Hiya thanks for dropping by...
here's a simple sympathy card......not my favourite subject...
but I enjoyed the gentle sponging of colours through an oval mask
I made myself with photocopy paper and Oval Framelits.

The stamp set is Simply Sketched....very apt I thought.

Sometimes Life is....

......just a bowl of cherries.....

made this for a male friend who loves music, and has various other hobbies....
none of which I had stamps for!
Luckily the Modern Medley paper from Stampin' Up! came to the rescue.
The stamp on the left is from my new set Giggle Greetings,
the sentiment on the right from a retired set,
and the cherry from Create a Cupcake,
and nearly forgot.....Postcard is a great stamp too!

Deborah's cat

Hiya! Thanks for dropping by....
been a bit lapse in my posts of late,
but hoping to have a bit of a catch-up.
Here's one of my new sets from Stampin' Up!
it's called Giggle Greetings, and is such FUN!
Deborah's cats are white, hence I didn't colour him in.
Apologies for the bad photography,
but hoping you can make out the paw prints in the background
(from my old stash).
The top left corner was a bit bare, so I punched some small circles,
with a view to adding faux candy dots, but this paw print evolved instead!
Just punched from the same paper.
I think it's Blushing Bride...hence a very pale pink!
If you outline the image with a marker pen in a pale colour,
such as blue or grey....it makes it pop more.
Simples!

Happy Birthday Roger!

Couldn't wait to play with my new Stampin' Up! set
Giggles Greetings...
I decoupaged the cheese and candle,
and added lots of cheesy holes with an old punch from my stash.
Lots more Giggles to come....I LOVE IT!
Hope you had a fab birthday Roger!

snowflakes are falling.....

well, ok, not real ones!
My plan is to make a snowflake garland......
I'm not normally ahead of time, but I thought that if I started now,
I could just do them when I have a few minutes to spare (!)....
well, that's the plan, and we all know, that all the best laid plans....

Can you see the coin?
My next ones won't be quite so large....

I'm also making a bobbin lace bell-pull decoration for xmas...
with the intention of making a few more...

Then there's the xmas cards........

which reminds me.....my September card making class will be xmas cards!
I normally end up making mine in a rush a week or two before,
so I'm hoping this year will be different!
I don't like rushing, do you?

Madness? Mosaic Madness!

Hi there!
Hope you are having a good weekend!

Just thought I'd share a couple of ideas with Mosaic Madness,
showing you can use lots of Stampin' Up! sets for all year round,
just by changing the colour scheme!

The first is Strawberry Slush-ness.....
the card has been cut and spliced with printed acetate...

This has been 'christmassed' with cherry cobbler and old olive on crumb cake...
So, which one do you prefer?

Now have a go yourself!
Take one stamp set,
do it in one colour scheme,
then try it in christmassy colours!

Stamps are not just for Christmas!
Happy Crafting!

Birthday Boy

I had to make this one in a bit of a hurry
(as seems to often be the case lately.....do you have the same problem?)
I like the colours of this retired halloween paper,
so combined it with my stamp punch, a stamp set that has loads of cute images you can layer up,
and a retired greeting.
I tried to do a kind of postcard layout.......
I can't wait till my Postcard stamp arrives, and I'll share it with you when I get chance!
I'm thinking of doing some christmas cards with it....
I'm starting christmas cards in my September classes if you fancy getting ahead!

For Sue

I did Sue's at the same time as Ros's,
but just changed it a little.
Spot the difference from yesterdays?

I stamped one of the 'Best of Flowers' in the foreground in chocolate chip.
I rarely use black, as I think brown is softer.

For Ros

As promised, here's a card using the inked acrylic block background.
It worked well with one of the new hostess stamp sets.
Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party are lovely soft colours.
I stamped the poppy again and decoupaged it.

I made the card to fit our lovely crumb cake envelopes from Stampin' Up!
An ideal opportunity to stamp the envelope too.
I often mean to add a stamped image to envelopes, but usually forget,
or run out of time!
It adds a lovely finishing touch don't you think?

my swap

Well I was going to show my swap, but it seems I didn't take a pic,
so I'll show you that when I get around to showing you how to do the chevron folds.

I made them work on our play day!
I showed them how to do the folds on their 'swap', then later suggested we get a bit inky!

Using an acrylic block, I placed ink from two pads,
placed it on the card to make this background.
Sarn kindly let us play with her Wetlands stamp set
(which we all now 'need'!)

Then we tried the same method, but spritzing the block with water,
before placing it on the card.
Can you see the difference a bit of water makes?
I love experimenting and getting inky!
I also used the stamp-a-ma-jig to get a line of wading birds.....
Come back tomorrow and I'll show you a finished card using this technique.

Sarn's swap

Here's the lovely Sarn's projects from our play day...
Her swap is a lovely ticket/ gift card/ tag holder....
or anything else you want it to be!
Love the soft colours, elegant flower, and the decoupaged flower.....
 Opens to reveal.......
the two little pockets, in which she popped two cute tags
in complimenting colours....

I admired her fancy fold projects on her blog, so she taught us this one....
Take a sheet of paper 11" square....
fold it, stick it, add some stamped layers...
 and hey presto!
This lovely card!
Check out her blog for more lovely Sarn designs

Special Offer!

Liz's swap....

Let's hope autumn is not around the corner just yet....
but here's a lush project from Liz at our team play day...
Love the embossed vellum leaf, but the large leaf is awesome!
All different colours, and spritzed with glitz shimmer,
and then the acorn is glazed.....all mounted on my favourite En Francais background.

Here's her make n take with the Flower shop set, which I'm desperately trying to resist buying!
I don't do many flowers, but this set is scrummy, and the matching punch makes it
all so easy...true Stampin' Up! style and quality...
We embossed the label shapes from Apothecary Accents dies,
then inked them with a marker pen.
Did you spot one of the new labels?
Love that set too!.......Just for you!
Check out her blog here
