Thanks gift pouch

Here's a fab swap from Lelly

The pouch (which holds a yummy drink sachet),
is embossed in gold, wrapped in ribbon, and
adorned with that fab sentiment and leaves.
The Scallop Tag Topper Punch has been used to shape the enclosure.

Block Card

We had another play day, where we all bring swaps and make n takes.
This was the cutest swap from Kim.
I wish I'd put something against it, so you could see how tiny it is.
Hop over to Kim's blog sometime.......

More Happy Post!

Phew what a week!

I was awake from 2 am Wednesday night with a poorly cat,
then same again last night, missing him because he had to stay
in the vets overnight .....he had a nasty infected tooth...
ouch in more ways than one!
I'm off to collect him and the bill shortly!

Meantime, what should arrive in the post?!
Another unexpected happy post,
how lucky am I, and what good timing!

It was from a dear friend who is also a great support to my SU business.
I have made some amazing friends through SU,
it has been very much an added bonus to something I really enjoy.

If you know anyone who would like a catalogue,
or class list from me, I'd be so grateful if you'd pass on my details.

After I'd taken this photo, I noticed a naughty rhinestone had
attached itself to a star!
But, as you can see I put it in it's place!

To see the artist's blog go to Lelly's blog HERE

I hope you have a good weekend,
thanks for stopping by

Happy Post

Bloomin eck!
I seem to have lost another few days again!
Oh well, soldiering on.....

Here's a quick post,
but please take a slow look at this gorgeous piece of art
from Sarn, isn't it just fab?!

My class loved the offset black mat as well,
so thanks for the card, and the inspiration Sarn!

Rudolph Day August

Happy Monday!

It's the 25th of the month again and you know what that means?!
This is where our Sarn hosts a fab challenge to produce 2
christmas cards, and I have to say, I am so pleased
that I have built up a nice head start, so thanks!

This was one of those that started out totally different to
what I intended....a bit of an experiment that went wrong IYKWIM!
This is a new set from Stampin Up! shhhhhhh!
It's White Christmas from the new Seasonal Catalogue.

I stamped the trees on Whisper White card first,
then on Bermuda Bay, and cut along the horizon.
I lined up the images, then trimmed the blue card to fit over the white.
Then I flipped the bottom blue piece over,
and again trimmed to fit over the white base.
Finished it off with the sentiment and snowman.
Then added some white snow and blobs of glitter.

The second one was much simpler!

This is a photopolymer set, so the trees and horizon can be
manipulated to make big hills or flatter ones.
Here I stamped it twice, and coz it's see-through, mega easy to do.

I then stamped the banners, car and tree, and coloured them in.
I'm going to have a lot of fun with this set!
There's lots of little images, and you could have a car carrying
a polar bear or reindeer if you want!

If you'd like a copy of the new mini catalogue,
please just ask!
It's one of the best I've seen IMHO!
There's lots of stuff I really really neeeeeed to play with!

Pop back soon and I'll show you some more!

Meantime Happy Rudolph Day,

Punch art Guitar

I had such fun with this one!

A friend's hubby loves playing guitar,
but I have no stamps that are anything musical,
so I grabbed the Owl Builder Punch instead!!!!!!!

I punched a 'body', then trimmed to shape using the 'vest' as a guide.
I used two hole punches,
(one in black for a faux hole in the middle, which probably has a name too),
cut a slither of a snippet
for the bar that holds the strings,
(anyone know what it's called?!)
cut a slightly tapered strip for the handle (?!),
used two 'feet' for the key thingys
(guess I should have 'googled' guitar parts?!!!),
and added some linen thread,
phew!
If you're wondering if it was fiddly.......
YES IT WAS!!!!

Can you tell yet that I'm not remotely musical ?!
and I can't sing for toffee either!

I had some snippets of paper that I liked,
which made a nice contrast to the Hello Honey yellow,
plus I know he likes to feed the birds,
backed it with black snippets,
and added a greeting, with a couple of candy dots.

If there's anyone new to card making dropping by,
my tip for today is:

make a 'mat' for your greeting, by punching the same shape in a contrasting colour,
cut it into two, and layer behind by spreading apart.

There a so many snippets on this one,
I'm going to see if the Snippets Playground is open!
OMG I've just hopped over and one of my cards is showcased.....
SQUEEEEEEEALS with delight!!!!!!

Have a SUPER Sunday!

You Little Furball sympathy

Hello everyone
Firstly can I give a warm welcome to my new followers.
I do try and visit and leave you a message,
but sometimes time just runs away or I forget!
You know how it is I'm sure!?
Anyway, I just want you to know how much I appreciate your visits.

Today's post is
A Furry Friend Fond Friday Full of thanks for the memories.

It's always sad to lose a furry friend that's been part of the family.
I sent this card to a friend as a token of my sympathy.

The sentiment is from You Little Furball,
but I chose a simple frond from World of Dreams
as the focal point.
Soft inking round the edge helped the topper
stand out from the base card.

Have a great weekend with hugs from your nearest and dearest.

Stampin' Up! Scallop tag Topper Punch card

Hi everyone!
I hope your week is going well.

I took this pic when the sun was shining brightly,
hence the shadows.

I found directions for a similar card on pinterest.
The idea is you use the punch by inserting the card
into it without cutting to size, and bypassing the channel.

I found this left a raggedy edge,
so I tried it a different way.
I cut a section off either side of where I wanted the punched closure,
leaving a small tab, which I then punched.

(I think I need to show you in pictures?!)

I then cut panels of whisper white card.
The top one I used the vellum flowers I didn't use on
the Corner Garden card (are you keeping up?! lol).
The inside panel was stamped with
World of Dreams, stamping the image 3 times
to get the shadows.

A bit of Blackberry Bliss ribbon to tie.

Lots of snippets, especially the vellum, and ribbon,
means I'm popping over to the snippets playground.

Enjoy the rest of your week

Corner Garden Stampin' Up!

Hi there, thanks for stopping by again.
I wanted to share the single large stamp Corner Garden with you again.

This time showing you the fine detail
with white embossing powder on blackberry bliss card stock.

So I needed to do some swaps for my lovely fellow demos,
and thought I'd follow my success with pool party the other day.
But NO, it wasn't going to be that easy.
The flowers just didn't look right,
so I left them off, and just added the ribbon.

Now Darnell suggested leaving off the ribbon,
but in this case the flowers looked a bit dirty instead of white,
so I went with this.

I then tried it in the opposite colour way
of Blackberry Bliss on white,
with BB satin ribbon.

Just proves - same stamp, different colours, different look.

Hope you are having a good week
and see you again soon

You Little Furball

Here's my august happy post sent to Liz:

I decided to try something a bit different and fun....

It wasn't how I'd imagined....
I was going to have a cat popping out of a bag,
with one peering from behind,
but it just didn't go right.

Once I'd placed two 'bodies',
I decided to stamp a trio, and forget the bag idea.
I cut out the heads and raised them on foam pads,
and added googly eyes.

No cats were harmed in making this!
I am a cat lover....well, I like all animals,
but we have a ginger tom in the family,
and Liz has a cat too,
and so do quite a few friends,
so I hink I'll be using this set a lot.

I might pop over to the snippets playground with this one,
as I've used lots of card snippets and ribbon snippets too!
I've also noticed there's a challenge for animal theme on here:http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/week-185-theme.html
It's the first time I've entered anywhere other than
the 'playground', so hopefully someone will tell me if I've done it wrong!

August Happy Post

Wisteria Wonder loveliness from Liz this month:

The background is embossed with polka dots,
I forget (sorry!) which flower spray stamp, white embossed,
and covered in petite petal flowers,
a couple of butterflies, bakers twine,
and some cute clay hand made flowers bottom right.
Must have taken her ages to make this one!
Thanks Liz!

Pictogram Punches for a Star

I love this little set, and it's perfect for male cards.

This was for a lovely friend living in Spain,
whom we don't get to see as often as we'd like.

I decoupaged the moon and some stars,
(a couple 'hung' on white bakers twine)
and added some random candy dots to coordinate.

Simple, but I liked this one, with it's white space,
and crisp colours.

Do let me know what you think!

I had a fantastic day today with some
Stampin' Up! play mates!
I will have lots to share with you soon.

Be sure to stop by again for some more,
it's lovely to have your company.

Corner Garden meets Flower Shop

Prepare to feast your eyes!
This is an easily missed single stamp from Stampin' Up!

I heat embossed with white powder onto pool party card stock.

I then stamped and heat embossed with pool party powder onto vellum.
I added a lush ribbon and rhinestones.

Here's a different layout but same products and techniques.
I shaped the flowers with a dry embossing ball tool.

This is one of those moments when you think yeah I like!
(well I hope you'll agree?!)

Let me know if you preferred landsape or portrait?!

Be sure to drop by again soon.
because I have a lot to show you!

Have a fab weekend

Moshulu sandals

Hiya
so did you make anything shoe coloured?!

I had a quick go at using some Naturals cardstock from SU
just as an experiment, as I suspected it would hold water better,
so I brushed it with water,
splodged some ink on my mat,
and brushed it over a card front.

Inks being those from this mornings post!
Hello Honey, Pistachio Pudding, Calypso Coral.

Hmmmm not overly successful eh?!
had a quick play with a new stamp set,
but I think I may be back....

Looks brighter in the flesh,
but as for that stamp set.....
watch this space, because omg it is seriously cute!

watermelon

Happy Friday!

I hope this finds you well.
It's quite a bit cooler this morning.

Luckily Wednesday night stayed dry and fairly warm,
and the garden party went really well.
We didn't have any gatecrashers from 'the playground',
but you'd have been welcome
to a nicely chilled glass of chardonnay!

It was nice to relax in the garden for a change,
it doesn't seem to happen much these days,
I bet you know what I mean!

This post is just for fun!
I bought these sandals last year......

But I only recently discovered how they match
some of the new In Colours at Stampin' Up!
Calypso Coral, Pistachio Pudding and Hello Honey.
The Moshulu sandals are called Watermelon.

So. if you need colour inspiration,
see if you can come up with something
based on these, or your own favourite shoe colours!

Another Great Year

Here's another one, using 'Another Great Year'.
I shouldn't showcase this one really, because it's retired,
and lots of people are now asking if they can buy it!

I told them at the time how useful this one was,
but did they believe me?!

This is one of those 'go to' stamps,
simple but effective, and you can change it just by using different colours.

This was for a Nephew who supports a team of the red and white variety,
and this paper seemed to fit the bill.

The technique is paper piecing, whereby you stamp onto paper,
cut it out, and stick it over the image.

Midweek already....
I'm holding a garden party tonight,
so fingers crossed for the weather!

Happy Post

Don't we all love happy post?!

I think this may have been from last month
eeeeeek I'm still chasing my tail.....

Well here's one from Jan, using the new Flower Patch Framelits.
Can you see how she added some glitter to the tips,
and lots of rhinestone centres.
(Jan loves a bit of bling!)

I think it was using the new colour Blackberry Bliss.....
I shall be using this colour in my next class,
along with the Tag Topper Punch,
that Sarn 'made' me buy when we last met.

Goodness me we are a bad influence on each other,
but it's fun isn't it?!!!

Happy Tuesday!

World of Dreams

I love this stamp set!
Not only lovely images,
but lovely sentiments too...

Similar to before,
punched a circle from some scrap card,
inked through, stamped over.

I hope your week echoes the sentiment!

She sells sea shells......

A recent visit to a beach near Dungeness
was full of surprises...
The tide was high, it was just starting to go out.

I like collecting shells as mementos.
We could have brought home shed loads!

There were so many complete pretty shells
here's just some of them:

We had to make sure the animals had left the building in some of them!

There are lots of misconceptions about Dungeness,
but it's a beautiful place you must visit!

Hope the sun's shining on you today.

Bloom in your heart

Here's my first attempt.....
punched a heart from scrap, making a stencil,
inked through it, then stamped.

But I wasn't happy with the layout.....so
take 2, with the aid of my stamp-a-ma-jig

Matted it onto matching card, added a rhinestone.

The Bloom with Hope and World of Dreams stamp sets could be my latest favourites.

Have a great weekend

box card tango

Wow this even looks bright in the pic!

A fun card-in-a-box, again ?, did I hear you groan!

Fun vibrant colours of purples pinks and tangerine,
with a splash of blue.
Favourites Flower Shop and Papillon Potpourri.

Birthday Star

Had some fun with some various coloured embossing powder
from my old stash.
Embossed onto some spare white card, fussy cut and layered on top

sadly the multi colours don't show on the pic,
or the texture......but I liked this one!

Over the garden fence

This was one of those rare occasions, where my card turned out
kind of how I had it pictured in my head...

I stamped the wheelbarrow in the background,
put the 'fence' in the foreground on foam pads,
and added the sentiment like a kind of graffiti.
A few candy dots in toning colours helped to balance it.

I used Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist,
two of SU new colours.

This was another male card, and I was quite pleased with it,
which means it probably won't be so popular with you!
It's funny how that's often the case, whereby the one's we're pleased with,
tend to be the least popular.......and the one's we like less, are more popular......
or is that just me?!

Keep Smiling!
